Alicia at the front desk was exceptional. She made our stay in Hood River extra special. Pricing
Parking. Hood River’s website indicated we could buy a parking pass prior to our visit. I did so and after hitting the send button, I realized that we were being charged for the current day, not our travel day which included an overnight stay. I had to call the parking company, City Parking Solutions, to get a refund. They indicated they have had problems in the past with the website on this issue. My credit card was charged, but I was told by their employee that my card would credited.

We were in Hood River as a base for spring wildflower hikes. The location was great: close to good places to eat, easy freeway access. This historic hotel is nicely decorated with some fun touches, like little nooks in the hallways with art supplies. Room was comfortable. They warn about noise and provide earplugs, but even though noise sometimes bothers me, it wasn't a problem here (didn't need the earplugs). Staff were friendly. My husband enjoyed the live music Saturday night.
Just be aware that street parking is limited to 3 hours from 8 am to 6 pm Monday through Saturday; you have to pay to park during this time.. You can pay to park at Mount Hood Railroad--$15 for 24 hours, which is very close to the hotel. Also, there is not a fridge or microwave in the room. The staff is glad to microwave something for you (they did my popcorn), you just have to go down to the front desk for it. These "negatives" were not problems for us, just mentioning them in case they're things that matter to other guests.

It's a nice old hotel and has period features, including an old elevator (with a highly sprung scissor door). The room we had was small but nicely decorated and the bed was comfy. There was coffee avaliable in the mornings by reception. It's on the main street (at the bottom of the hill)
It doesn't have it's own parking, but uses the parking at the railway station, which can only be paid for via phone, and doesn't work with non-US phones. The receptionist helped us out with this but that had it's own problems - be sure to clear all your details from the phone after paying - I kept recieving emails meant for other customers for a week after. There was a very large photo over our bed of a woman posing with a deer she's shot, which was odd.

A beautiful historical building. We stayed in one of the inside rooms (“garden” room), top floor and it was very peaceful. No view to speak of - it was like a rooftop “garden” but not really a garden. But I value the quietness more since most of the time I’m focused on activities outside the room. I also LOVED the enlarged prints of old journal entries!
$3 water bottles. American hotels in general need to learn to offer 2 free bottles of water each day. It’s a healthy and appreciated gesture when it’s offered.

An amazing stay in an old hotel that has been updated with lots of taste and generosity. Super comfy bed and room, everything is spotless clean, the atmosphere and vibe is incredible from the room to the hallways to the amazing lobby to the elevator . Great coffee in the morning. Can't say a single negative thing it's a gem and I would love to spend a longer stay there and just enjoy the vintage coziness of the place. Great welcome at the reception in the evening also. Congrats :)
Nothing :) Keep up the great effort :)

Location excellent right in town, room quite commodious and well appointed. Shower was great! We had a tiny kitchenette which was good for us. Lovely, old school, old west urban hotel ambience.
No view in the 'garden view' room, no smart TV or streaming options I could find. Bed a bit too soft for me, but I like a harder bed. Parking costs extra, but you can move your car for street parking or pay a fee of $15 a day for parking.

The location could not possibly be more convenient! Right in the heart of the HR. The staff was super helpful and the hotel is dog-friendly. The Lobby deserves separate compliments - the fireplace and hang out area are magical for the evening to relax! They even had a jazz evening downstairs during our stay. The cafe is also a real treat!
The hotel is historical, so one should understand that the rooms are relatively small (at least for a family with a child) and the bathroom is tiny. The bathroom amenities need a bit of fixing. The carpets gotta be changed as well

- Room design was beautiful and original - Beds are big and very comfortable - Location could not be better, just behind the river and downtown where all shops and coffee venues are
- Wi-fi connection was a nightmare at times, not always reliable - I would not pay any extra charge for "river view", the property is low altitude compared to the river, so the views are not great - Bathroom was quite small, and the faucet was actually in the middle of the room

The room was well appointed. Everything clean and cute extras. Bed was sooooo comfy. The pictures in rooms and hotel in general were informative and relevant to this past history of the area = fun. Staff welcoming and helpful. We were able to stash our bags while we went out and about to shop and explore. The fireplace and couches in reception added to ambience and warmth of our arrival.
Didn't like to wait until 4pm to check in. 2pm would have been better.

This beautiful, historic hotel completely exceeded my expectations. I took my parents and my brother here for a night in Hood River, and we loved it. The main lobby with the fire place sends you back in time. The rooms were updated and very comfortable. There are tons a breweries around and it's a perfect location in town.
Wonderful time, and would return again. -We had to pay for overnight parking, but no big deal overall. -My parents said the trains woke them up at night due to what side of the building their room was on, through the hotel does offer free earplugs.
