Amanda was great! She was friendly and very accommodating. The house is beautiful and there were billiards and other games for entertainment. The breakfast was delicious and there was a big variety of food items that would satisfy everyone. Sadly, we were only there for one night but would definitely stay there again.
The only thing we didn't care for (but was NOT a big deal) was that our private bath was not connected to our room, it was a little ways down the hall. BUT we knew that when we booked the room. We are in our 70's and get up during the night, so that was a bit inconvenient for us. It would NOT keep us from staying there again, but it's something you need to be aware of. The bathroom itself was great and we had everything we needed.

The house is beautiful and well located for any number of destinations. The town itself looks a bit worn, but VAAST is great. The host is friendly and we wished we could stay more than one night. Breakfast offered some cooked and cold options, quite informal. The room was quiet; we didn't even know there were other guests there.
It was all fine. The only issue was finding the property—many of the houses in town don't have clear house numbers along the way (it was raining and gray). Once we found it, no problems at all.

VAAST Bed & Breakfast is one of the best B&Bs I've ever visited. The host was incredibly welcoming, the rooms were spotlessly clean, and I appreciated the complimentary water in the room along with a delicious complimentary breakfast. We arrived just before Halloween, and the large “scary” decoration at the entrance perfectly matched the whimsical, fairytale-like style of the house, adding a fun, festive touch to our stay. Overall, a fantastic experience – highly recommended!
A minor drawback is that the room is on the third floor, so keep that in mind if you have mobility limitations.

First and foremost, Amanda and her husband were awesome. Their children were also very nice and polite. This was my wife and I's first stay at a bed and breakfast. We stayed for a week, and it exceeded our expectations. The breakfasts were always delicious. We go to PA. every year for my birthday for antiquing and shopping in lancaster. We couldn't have asked for better hosts, and we will be visiting VAAST again. Amanda always made sure we didn't need anything and made sure we were taken care of. We also enjoyed the talks with Amanda and how easy she was to talk to. We feel that made a great new friend. Sky and Talley were so well-behaved and friendly (house dog & cat and greeters) For whomever reads this review, VAAST is a great place to stay, and you won't be disappointed by choosing this property.
The only complaint we had for the week doesn't have to do with the property. Our second night out, we ran over a skunk, and our car smelled the whole time in PA.

This was our second visit to Vaast and the first with our three grandchildren. They loved exploring the old house and the girls enjoyed having their own private room. Both rooms were spacious and very comfortable and the bathrooms were well stocked with an array of shower supplies. Our room came with a full service kitchen. Our 7 year old grandson really enjoyed the video games and they all enjoyed swimming in the beautiful pool. Breakfast was self-service in the kitchen and featured a very nice selection of food and beverages. The grown-ups enjoyed the Pennsylvania wines in the drawing room. The owners and their children were helpful and friendly. A big hit.

Amanda is a marvelous, helpful host and prepares a great breakfast spread. The available activities were far beyond what we had time to experience, but we did get several fun times at the game table. The location was perfect for the places we needed to go during our visit---close to the thoroughfares, but not too close. Even though everything on the street there is crowded, access to and exit from the property was easy. The quaint Victorian setting provided a nice view and some unexpected new experiences. Our interactions with Amanda and her sweet dogs were very enjoyable and precious. She shared with us some recent renovation history and some upcoming plans which I'm sure will make this property even better in the years ahead. Above all, we will never forget her willingness to go above and beyond to help us.
We weren't prepared for the rustic character of the homes in that neighborhood. Long-ago-common things like the two very different flights of stairs took a little adjustment for us. The biggest surprise, perhaps, was the sink being outside the bathroom, in the sleeping area, and without a mirror. I understood how that resulted from some renovation in years past, but it was a quirky disruption in our customary routines.

The house is gorgeous! We know that the family is still working on returning this amazing house to it's former glory, but they are doing an awesome job! We love old houses, especially Victorians, and it did not disappoint! Breakfast was provided, even making sure that I had a diabetic-friendly option and my husband, with the sweet tooth, had options as well.
The only downside was the stairs, haha. We opted for a room on the top floor, for the amenities and the view; but after a day of browsing every antique store we could fit in during business hours, we were tired!

Very welcoming, family-run, friendly place. The hosts were sweet, accomodating, and kind, the room was perfectly clean, and there were neat amenities for fun on the first floor. Game table, massage chair, pool table, etc.
I have not-so-great knees, and my wife bioked us on the third floor, so it was a bit much - but honestly, that was our fault. The place was truly beautiful, breakfast was nice, and again, all went great.

The Christmas decor was really nice. Room was spacious. The house as such was really nice.
The house had 3 big dogs of which 2 were young. They were running around the house which made us uncomfortable. Felt like this information should’ve been disclosed in the listing. We tried messaging the host before staying to see if they had pets in the house but didn’t receive a response.

The family who runs this B&B have been so friendly and accommodating! This was our second visit, and they have always made us feel welcomed.
I chose a king room, and the only thing that was a bummer was that our bathroom was down the hall. No running back to my room in just a towel after my shower, haha! But that was my fault, not the owners'.
