The hotel was lovely. They are right off Marion Square, right in the heart of Charleston. They are very dog friendly and having the park so close made it easy to take our pup out for walks. The room was very comfortable, though there were a couple of minor things wrong, like a broken microwave, the drapes didn’t close properly and the TV had poor reception at times. The breakfast was good offering many selections too and they had a lovely wine happy hour each evening for hotel guests to get together in the lobby.

The only negative is the extra charges for the dog and for parking are really high. I’m ok with extra fees, it’s just that hotels have really gone overboard with the pricing.

Breakfast was amazing! Best I’ve had in a while. Staff was always super nice and helpful whenever we had any questions. 2 free drinks per person between 5:30-7:30pm each night which was sweet. The pool was nice, a bit smaller than I expected for the huge hotel they have, but only used it to cool off at night. The location was pretty good too, got to most activities on foot, within 15-20mins walks from everything on the Peninsula.

The rats around the pool’s bushes were a bit uncomfortable for a woman, but mainly would only hear them later at night. Same with the bats flying right over the pool. My husband was just laughing at all these things, wasn’t bothered much. A bit pricey as an overall, but had a great stay! No real complaints here.

Breakfast was exceptional! Embassy suites was recommended because of its great breakfast! Sheldon the valet was very helpful and pleasant. Alfred in maintenance went above and beyond to get us a working microwave!

Stayed on 4th floor. One of our windows was blocked by the building. MicroWave didn’t work. Requested service - 2nd one didn’t work either. Alfred in Maintenance said he left message to replace the next day. Didn’t happen so I called the desk. Still didn’t come so called again. Alfred in Maintenance came immediately and brought new one that didn’t fit the hole but it worked!!

Everything was great! Location, we were able to walk to dine. John King's bar and grill was a great spot for our family of 6 including young children. Valet parking was a plus. Our hostess Nyla was awesome. Very inviting demeanor from checking in all the way to checking out. Knowledgeable and sincere. Complimentary breakfast was pretty good with having alot of items to choose from.

The sofa bed could be thicker. Was like sleeping directly on springs. Regular beds were comfy enough though.

Breakfast was great and the rooms were a little dated, but clean with great service. We got adjacent rooms (family holiday) and 3rd floor worked out fine. Elevators were close by.

The ice machine on the 3rd floor didn’t work and no note whether to go up a floor or down to fine one working. Shower/tub was dated. We prefer shower stalls.

Location, historical building, breakfast and happy hour drinks

Receptionist on duty when we arrived was not welcoming ( she didn’t provide us with useful info and a map; we had to ask her about breakfast, happy hour, our location in the city, ect.) Beds are too small for queen size. They didn’t restock the room with tea and coffee Keurig pods every day.

I’m local to Charleston, nice and so convenient to the concert we went too. Happy hour was a special treat, to unwind and gather with friends. Breakfast was super fast, the morning chef whipped up a great omelette!

Rooms were comfortable, could use a replacement of mattresses , and updating the room. Many areas of wallpaper coming apart in bathroom. Mixed use of pictures on walls.

Loved the omelette s! The variety at breakfast was excellent. The helpfulness of the valets on arrival and leaving. My sister in law and I didn’t even have to ask for help with our luggage! The complimentary snacks and drinks were delightful.

The hotel was very clean however it could use a bit of updating.

We were booked for 3 nights. For a price around $1600. We checked in late Friday night with a check out date of Monday. Saturday morning I got up to see a $2400 charge on my card. Didn't expect to be charged until i check out on Monday. Got that cleared up then Sunday morning there was a $1800 charge on my card. Talked to the same manager both times. He got it cleared up and the final charge was $1600. But my credit card had a hold of $4200 for several days till it cleared from the card. Manager said it was their computer system that did the charges, and he had no control over. He was able to reverse the charges but that 2 to 3 days to clear the card. Don't think I will ever stay at an Embassy again.
