Fantastic location! It was really easy to access some of the best restaurants and things to see from the hotel. The bed was extremely comfortable, and the overall facilities were great. It was super convenient to have not only a restaurant and a coffee shop within the hotel.
I went to the restaurant one time for breakfast and the service wasn't as great as i would have hoped. After asking for hot sauce twice (once when i ordered and once after flagging down a member of staff after my food arrived), it finally arrived at the table as i was taking the last bite of my food. It wasn't very busy, but felt like as a solo diner i wasn't as high priority as the other tables.

Rooms were clean and well appointed, daily room service is standard, pool, cafe were both nice, the pool was perfect temp, and the cafe had a nice selection and great coffee and good service. We didn't eat on site but heard good things and the restaurant was active as well as the bar areas. Staff was a delight, attentive without being intrusive. I would definitely stay here again. This hotel is clearly well managed from arrival to departure we were well looked after.
I would have liked to stay longer- 3 nights was not long enough. There was nothing I would have changed. Everything was beautiful.

This is a great hotel and we loved everything about it. We stayed here as a family of 4 with 2 teenage kids. It is stylish and comfortable with a great location. There is a great bar and restaurant, and the coffee shop/market is fantastic. The location is perfect and within walking distance of everything. We swam and lounged every day at the pool and had plenty of drinks from the poolside bar as well. The hotel was bustling but never felt overly busy. The property is very well-decorated, clean, and well-maintained. Our second-floor room was perfect with vaulted ceilings and and a balcony overlooking the side street and Poogan's Porch restaurant. It was a great place for a drink, morning coffee, and the free smells coming from the restaurant across the street (be sure to eat and Poogan's). We will definitely stay here next time we are Charleston.
Nothing. We loved everything about this hotel.

Beautiful property in a very central location. Architecturally stunning and very authentic.
Finding the parking isn't easy and is limited. Very frustrating process when leaving the parking decks - for which the staff on desk have no information, take no responsibility and will not help. Thankfully a young member of staff carrying bags overheard and was able to help - or we would still be there now. Getting served at the bar can also be tricky as the bar staff deliberately do not catch your eye - even when not engaged in other tasks. At this price point you'd expect more

The location was perfect. The staff was friendly and knowledgable. Should have had them do our itinerary. The staff did the best they could to make our stay more comfortable by comping us hot chocolate since I didn't want to repack and relocate our room.
The doors between our room and then next one was not insulated. We heard a very unhappy couple argue for a few days. So we wore earplugs to fall asleep at night.

Love The Mills! Very clean, classy decor, LOVE LOVE the pool! My second time staying (the first just this past June), my room was on the sixth floor facing St Philip’s Church so lovely to watch the sunrise every morning ! Will always stay at the mills when I visit Charleston.
I follow The Mills on social media and was so excited for all the August events celebrating their 170 birthday. Thursday afternoon around 2:00 pm I went to the Iron Rose for one of their featured throwback cocktails. The female bartender had no idea what I was talking about, she grabbed my iPhone without asking first, running her fingers all over her face and then touching my phone (I had the iron rose social media page on my phone). She says “I don’t have access to those ingredients”. Throws my drink together like she’s never been behind a bar in her life and says “just take it”. Strange and unexpected service at such a classy hotel. Was it her first day or possibly was she unexpectedly told to fill in for a sick call?

The property is clean and very modern . Staff are friendly and very helpful. I love that they are pet friendly, my little Doggo got his own package when we checked in , water bowls, poop bags and holder and the cutest bandana. So many guests at the hotels had dogs with them . This was fantastic . The hotel is also very close to night life , tourist attractions and restaurants, my family and I walked to almost all the restaurants and attractions.
The one thing I didn’t like was on one of the days even though I had the do not disturb sign on as my dog was in the room the hotel cleaning staff still went in and my dog got out of the room.

My friend and I stayed here for two nights in early July, and loved our stay. Our room was ready early (great, since my flight got in midday), and the room was nice and spacious, clean, and comfortable. They brought us a bottle of sparkling one night as we were celebrating a special occasion, which was a nice touch! The various main areas of the hotel are beautiful, including a couple different lobby seating areas, the patio/restaurant, pool area and patio, and reception. We didn't eat at the restaurant or have a drink at the bar, so can't speak to that, but I did enjoy a few iced lattes from the coffee shop (their summer seasonal strawberry latte was amazing!). Great location as well, easily walkable to all sorts of spots.
Mostly these are small things, not really big issues but possibly helpful to know for some travelers. The A/C worked great during the day and I had it way cranked down, but we never felt like it was *quite* cold enough at night for sleeping. During the afternoon, pool chairs are limited and hard to come by! And because we were there a few days after 4th of July, the prices were super high so value for money wasn't quite there (but that's not unique to Mills House, that was every hotel at that time).

Stunning, sophisticated hotel in Charleston’s historic district. Location was PERFECT! The pool was FABULOUS and exclusive to hotel guests. I will return!
Room tv did not have any premium channels or Chromecast for streaming. That was a bummer because after being in the heat and humidity all day, it would’ve been nice to settle into a movie. I ended up watching apps on my iPhone. The pillows were pancakes. My last evening there was a constant knocking sound coming from either the bathroom pipes or the air conditioning. I’m hearing challenged so I was able to block it out but I’m sure it would’ve bothered a more sensitive hearing person. None of this would deter me from staying again though. Really a CLEAN, beautiful hotel with everything needed on premises (pool, coffee shop, restaurant, hydrating stations, etc).

Location was perfect and we were able to walk to all of our destinations. The only tour not in walking distance was Ft. Sumter. Staff was friendly and helpful. We were especially please with the young men helping with valet and holding our luggage. Steven and Will were so helpful.
The only drawback was the size of our bathroom. My husband is over 6 feet and it was not as spacious as he would have liked.
