Location, courtyard, breakfast, and snacks were good. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Although it cost extra, parking was next to the hotel, which was convenient.
The interior bathroom area was quite small; it is obvious they are trying to make the best of the limited size they have, but the shower door area and toilet were quite tight; a very large person- not necessarily obese- would have a difficult time using this area. Perhaps pocket doors or a reverse hinge might help. The outer bathroom sink area was fine.

If I could rate the Indigo Inn a "15" or more I could!! This is our second trip from Montana to Charleston and the Inn for three nights. You always hope that your memories are as good as you think they are. The Inn totally exceeded our expectations a second time. One truly feels as though you are returning "home' when you arrive. From the ample breakfast and coffee, to the morning and afternoon snacks with sweet iced tea and cucumber cold water, to the wine, beer and appetizers at 5 in the atrium, to the milk and cookies in the evening you are totally welcomed and cared for. The rooms are beautiful with antiques and wonderful beds and linens to the complimentary high end toiletries, and comfortable lounge chairs. The atrium with flowers and fountain is a grand place to relax, eat, read or just make new friends. The Inn is in walking distance to wonderful restaurants and sightseeing. Our favorites in the neighborhood being Hanks and Henry's and then we go to Pearlz on Bay and ride the wonderful Charleston Bike taxis. In fact we use the yellow bike taxi to go any when we do not want to walk . What a nice way to see things slowly and up close along with a conversation with our "peddler". The Inn does have parking in the lot if you have a car as well as an elevator to the upper floors. I cannot say enough about our stay and so look forward to another visit. Thank you Indigo and especially Jamel and Ethan who answered all our questions and always greeted us with a smile.

Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Room was comfortable we loved the courtyard and we walked to most everything we wanted to go to.
Bathroom was laid out wrong. Not enough room in shower and toilet area. Would have been nice for the 2 chairs be together with a tiny table between allowing conversation, eating, etc. On cold days, there should be heaters set up in the courtyard so you may eat their in comfort and all tables should have umbrellas.

One of the nicest hotel experiences we have had - wonderful hotel, far exceeded our expectations. The service received was exceptional, and a massive shout out to Robert on the front desk - nothing was too much trouble and gave us some great information on where to eat, and where to walk to experience the wonderful architecture and attractions Charleston has to offer. The location is perfect and is in easy walking distance to some great restaurants, bars, architecture, the market and shops. The customer service was some of the best we have ever experienced and we especially liked the Cheese and Wine every evening, the 8pm cookies and the wonderful courtyard where you could eat breakfast. If we ever visit Charleston again, we will look no further than the Indigo Inn to stay - truly loved it here.
Nothing - we loved it

The staff, location, and charming courtyard were wonderful. We were impressed by the lovely nightly wine reception, the milk and cookie nightcap service, all-day refreshment bar, and daily breakfast. It was very comfortable and quiet, and our room was clean. We would stay here again.
The hotel is old and historic, so there are fewer, and less broadly-distributed electrical outlets than some may be used to. The hotel has tried to accommodate for this by having multi-plug/USB outlet strips in a couple of locations in the room.

Good location, friendly staff, on site parking, nice breakfast options. Air conditioning worked well and also ceiling fan. Plenty of towels and toiletries.
Room furniture and decor seem a bit tired (ie, chipped toilet seat, broken dresser handle). Mattress didn’t have a luxe feel, though pillows were good. Would suggest refillable shampoo/conditioner/ shower gel in showers to eliminate some of the plastic of small containers.

Receptionist(s) and cleaning service were absolutely superb in every aspect of our time there. Our location was in the center of the downtown area allowing my husband and I to walk to any attraction easily (i.e. market, shops, food, waterfront). Our room was perfect in size, comfort, and cleanliness. Continental breakfast from 7AM - 10AM, 5PM was so wonderful as wine, locally made beer, fruit tray, cheese, crackers and locally made dips provided in their quaint reception room (outdoor garden available) that allowed my husband and I to meet other guests staying there like a mini social event. We highly recommend to everyone to stay at the Indigo!
We found not one single fault with the Indigo.

The hotel is well run and the staff friendly and efficient. The location is excellent and parking is on the premises.
The showers do not have showerheads on a hose, only the rainshower head. The water does not run very cold and gets too warm if you turn the water on full force, which is not good when you want to cool off in the sumer.

Good continental breakfast and snacks at 5pm were most welcome. Car park great and were able to check in early. Coffee etc available all day in a guest room while lobby was being refurbished. Location was very good for us.
Didn’t know about Lobby refurbishment. Bathroom was tiny in the shower/toilet area. No coffee maker in room. The stairs to ground floor were very old.

Great location. Lovely, clean, comfortable room. Breakfast was fantastic Easy walking distance to lots of sights and restaurants
I really would have liked some Coffee making facility in the room. There was some really loud noises going on during the night 8/20/25 No idea what they were though.
