The room was very clean bathroom had been updated. The bed was halfway decent.

The pillows were to lumpy. Very noisy because they were near a railroad track and trains came by at least 2 during the night. They were very loud. The free breakfast was horrible. I guess the next time when you see they offer free breakfast make sure it is continental. They just had cereal, bread instant oatmeal and juice. I thought parking was a little shady and I did not like the fact that I had to drive to get to main office. I had a question about the internet and i could not get front desk to answer the phone. I even had reservation call them they got no answer told me to check again in 15 mins. Where was the staff?

We were just looking for a place to crash for the night while driving the interstate, but want it to be clean and cared for, instead of scary. We thought about just spending the $130 for one of the "better" chains just down the road, but saw that the reviews on this motel stood out as positive. So we decided to save the $60 and see. For us, it was worth it. This motel is not fancy - but the rooms were clean, had been remodeled recently, and it was peaceful at night (well the train did go by once :) The breakfast isn't exciting, but it was adequate. (And one could always go across the street to Shoneys, or over to Starbucks if need be) All in all, we were pleased with the experience, considered it a good value, and will bookmark it for future travels up and down I95.

Pillows were lumpy? Coffee wasn't great? thats about all I can think of, and definitely not a dealbreaker for us.

An absolute top notch hotel. The staff readily honored my request to change my 1st floor room upon arrival for a 2nd floor room. The room was very large, SPOTLESS, the bed was comfortable and quiet. We liked the hotel so much we booked the same room for our trip back home a few days later. Easy on/off I-95 and plenty of places nearby to grab a quick meal. Complementary breakfast was perfect to fuel up before driving the /nd half of our trip. The lady who took care of the breakfast area was in constant motion stocking the food and bd rages and tidying up the tables. What I liked best of all was that the hotel required a refundable $50 deposit in addition to thd room rate. This gave me confidence that I was booking at a hotel that took care of the facility. I would definitely be using this hotel on our annual stopover to seeing family in Florida

Everything was perfect!

My kids and I really enjoyed our stay! We only thought we were staying 2-3 nights during our evacuation due to Hurricane Milton, but it ended up being 10 nights. What could have been a very stressful situation was made much better by us finding this hotel. The desk staff was accommodating and patient, and the housekeeping staff went out of their way to meet our needs with a friendly smile. We enjoyed many beautiful parks in the area, and found the people of Florence to be so kind and proud of their city! We would stay again!

Comfort, clean, value, free breakfast

The night I checked in, the front desk guy was on the phone and having a fight with someone…. Tried to ask a few questions about room charges and breakfast and he was more invested in the phone call, than me, the customer. In AM couldn’t get a warm shower after breakfast While checking out, guy said, you shoulda cleared cold water by running sink faucet—if this is the case, a sign should be in bath area to let people know!

Who knew Howard Johnson's still existed? As others have reviewed, the outside might not look like much, but the rooms and dining area have been updated to current hotel standards. Everything was good in the room except for outside guest noise. Plus you can walk to Starbucks and dining options like Jersey Mike's, a BBQ place, and the highly recommended Julie Belle's for southern cuisine. The location is right off of I-95 in a hotel cluster that includes a Hampton Inn, so you know it's not in a questionable area.

The free breakfast had limited options. The paved parking lot, or what's left of it, is in tough shape.

We were so pleasantly surprised by our stay at the Howard Johnson decorated with fun decor reminding us of old times but completely updated. We were greeted at check in by Talik who was gracious and helpful making sure our rooms were close together. The rooms were clean, beds comfortable, shower great and morning breakfast was as described with cereal, oatmeal, hard boiled eggs, toast, muffins and bagels and the best orange juice ( 100 % juice from Sunkist) that we have ever had at a hotel breakfast like this. There were people tending to the breakfast food and tables so things were replenished and tables wiped down. The room was surprisingly quiet and the heat/air conditioning unit was also quiet. It was an incredible bargain! Many of the other guests were families. This is a motel, like where we all stayed in the past, but it has been nicely remodeled and the staff made it a very nice stay.

Amanda at front desk was awesome. As were the other staff. The hotel was clean and comfortable beds, the breakfast was nice and so was the price. I am an owner of 10 Wyndham timeshares and this is why I came here because being a Wyndham property. I wasn't disappointed.

Nothing, the TV was smaller than what we are use to, but got a lot of channels. The refrigerator was nice, it was bigger and had it's own door and compartment for freezer. A big plus

The hotel was close to our route from Northern Virginia to Florida; easy access to I-95. Plenty of restaurants in the area to choose from. Due to severe weather we needed to add a second night, and the staff worked with us to make sure we didn't need to move rooms.

The TV was iffy with no clear channel guide. That being said, we don't usually watch TV so it was only frustrating because we were holed up during bad weather.

The location is ideal for those traveling on I-95. There is a Pilot station across the street that is very convenient for refueling. The facilities looked to be kept clean and neat. The room was also clean and comfortable. Everything in the room was in good working order. Because I was just there overnight, I did not explore the dining options nearby.

The breakfast options were sparse, but the coffee in the dining area was decent.
