Friendly staff. Modern and clean property. Nice landscaping and exterior.

The service at The Captain was quite slow. Also, the staff at the bar were talking about being Trump supporters, and complaining about political topics. This seems inappropriate for employees to be discussing in a public setting.

No matter what we needed, the staff was eager to help. They made sure everything was perfect and taken care of. Always pleasant and always a smiling face. The staff had a terrific attitude the entire time.

The only thing I didn't like was the lack of information on the hotel. I wish there was more upfront information on pool times, dress attire for the amenities, just general info for the place. I feel that was lacking. Overall, I feel that it was a wonderful place to stay and absolutely can't wait to come back. I would definitely recommend the Hotel Hartness to anyone.

There was nothing, we didn't like. Absolutely perfect from the arrival, getting to our room, sleeping through the night, until our departure. Staff so friendly and helpful, the most comfortable bed, we ever slept in. Sheets and mattress were upscale, shower very hot and spacious with beautiful products. I fell in love with the MB body lotion. I would like to find out, where I can buy that particular lotion. Rosemary clarity sage, so lovely!!! The interior, as well as the exterior are splendid. Breakfast was very tasteful and plentiful. Great variety!! We will stay there again!! Thank you for everything.

Our stay at Hotel Hartness was exceptional from start to finish! We were in town for a business trip and also celebrating our anniversary, and the staff went above and beyond to make our experience special. They surprised us with thoughtful touches that made us feel so welcome. The hotel itself is stunning—impeccably clean, beautifully designed, and situated on breathtaking grounds that feel like a peaceful retreat. Every detail was carefully thought out, and the team was incredibly accommodating to our needs. This hidden gem is a must-visit, but part of us wants to keep it a secret! Thank you, Hotel Hartness, for a memorable stay. We can’t wait to return!

We absolutely loved this special place. From your arrival, you are greeted with exceptional gardens and luxury modern decor. The staff are absolutely wonderful! We had bags lost, and they gave us all the essentials to get us by until our luggage came in. Not having to go find a store late at night. They provide all the little things that make a stay feel special, like an espresso machine and high-end shampoo handsoap and conditioner. Dimmers in the bathroom with white noise fans. Beautiful decor and high-end fixtures. Comfy beds soft sheets. Wonderful sitting area in gardens. Breakfast was included, and it was delicious. It was quite the impressive buffet spread. All the hotel areas to sit inside and out were so comfortable. We ate our breakfast in the beautiful tranquil gardens. There are bike and walking trails. They even provide bikes upon request. It's absolutely amazing.

I loved everything!

Aside from the things in this review that we've already rated, it was wonderful that our baby girl, Maisy (dog), was so welcome here! Very nice hot breakfast included with the nightly rate. Bikes and helmets are available to ride the trails and beautiful area!

Our room was at the far end of the floor and it was a lot of walking to go back and forth to our room! One evening we returned to the hotel in the rain. We all got drenched trying to get my elderly mother into her wheelchair and then inside! A covered drive through at the entrance would be a welcome addition!

We loved everything about the property. It’s a hidden gem! I was looking for a reasonably priced hotel near the Spartanburg Mem’l auditorium for a play we were attending and Hotel Hartness far exceeded my expectations! It is not a chain hotel in any way. The main building looks like a beautiful French chateau, the lawns and landscaping are meticulously manicured, interiors are modern with lovely art on the walls yet there is no pretentiousness. Staff is friendly and accommodating. The rooms are comfortable with illy coffee makers and luxurious showers and great beds. Patterson (the on site restaurant) is anything but typical hotel fare. The space is gorgeous, the food delicious and the waitstaff anticipated our every need.

The only negative (if you could call it that) was that the lovely bicycles the hotel has available for taking on the lovely, paved trails on the property) needed some attention. The seats were wobbly, making them difficult to ride. I love that they were available for guests to borrow, however.

The property was beautiful. It felt fresh and new, yet still had a lot of charm. I must mention the Molton Brown shower products and illy coffee ❤️ Two of my favorites! Beds and linens were very comfortable as were the robes. We ate at The Captain as it was a Monday and the other restaurant was not open. The food was great! Sat at the pool for a few hours and enjoyed the large pool and views of the ponds and surrounding area. Free breakfast was also a big plus!

There wasn’t much we didn’t like.

Loved the space and surrounding land to go walking. Cool that they have a restaurant and separate bar/pub.

If needing to get to Greenville, this is a haul. I believe the Uber ride was around $20-30, so add on $50-75 on top of stay if wanting to go into Greenville and needing Uber. We had reservations for the restaurant, but it was super packed and we could not be seated at our reservation time. We were under a time crunch due to attending a concert downtown Greenville. Ended up being ok because we liked the vibe of the bar better. I would stay here more if they provided a shuttle for a reasonable price. I usually come into town for concerts and other events downtown Greenville.

Beautiful facilities. Friendly, accommodating staff. Nice landscaping and outdoor space. Choice of a hot or cold breakfast. We would definitely stay here again.

The air conditioning did not work in our room, but we were upgraded to a different room the following day as they could not get it fixed quickly. Our food in The Captain was lukewarm and not great. Twenty-thirty minute drive to Greenville, but located in a beautiful country setting.
