When I booked it, it was was by accident. I didn't realize we had to take the ferry! It was our first time to ever ride the ferry and the kids were excited. The place is very clean and the lady that checked us in Brandy was extremely nice and smiled a lot. She was such a people person. We were so glad to have booked it.

That we didn't get there sooner to enjoy the pool. Now we know for next time.

Staff were very polite, professional. Hotel itself was very clean, pleasant. Room furniture in good working condition, very clean. The television had a reasonable selection of channels, good sized screen, the in room refrigerator was immaculately clean inside and out, and performed as well as could be expected. Same for the in room microwave. There was a clear and obvious commitment to cleanliness and maintenance, and the staff are to be commended for their efforts. The bathroom and shower were very well maintained and cleaned, very very clean white towels, good shower pressure and plenty of hot water. Breakfast was quite nice: a hot buffet selection of bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, DIY waffles, a selection of different yogurts, baked goods, not to mention several fresh juices available. There was plenty of everything to eat and drink even though the hotel was going to stop serving in the next 30 minutes or so, but your mileage may vary, so I would advise getting in early if you want to get the most out of it. Location was very convenient, as there are several gas stations, a pizza hut, and a grocery store just a few minutes down the road, so any last minute necessities are only a short drive away. Please be aware there is a refundable $100 deposit they require on arrival, ontop of the actual room rates, and that they require a credit card to store on file in the event of any damages. It's probable that I simply overlooked that part when I was booking my room in advance, and I would presume is just an industry and/or corporate standard.

One minor inconvenience was that my room was right next to the staff maintenance room with the washers and dryers, and the noise bled through the walls to some degree during the afternoon/early evening. It wasn't enough to be a dealbreaker but I could see how it might be annoying for some people on a different sleep cycle than my own. The only real negative I can say was that the bed mattresses were too firm for my liking, due to my specific back problems, and not through any fault of the hotel itself. I only mention it so that future guests will be aware that the mattresses are more towards the firm end than the soft.

I was very pleased with how clean the hotel, room and common areas were. It was very welcoming and it felt great to come to after a long beach day. Our room was close to the lobby area, so we were in/out of in a snap.

The breakfast time. Not only with this hotel, but overall. Families stay in hotels like this one for vacation purposes and usually don’t wake up until after 8 or even 9 am. Breakfast is served until 9. Out of the two days we stayed in, we weren’t able to enjoy breakfast because we were so tired from the previous day and we enjoyed those until night time. We really wanted to make the best out of those short days and waking up early wasn’t in our plans. I wish breakfast would be served until later than 9.

Good breakfast, long line but that just means everyone enjoyed the food. Everything went quick and they might need someone to restock more often.

Needed extra towels and went to the front desk to ask, she just kinda blew us off and said to ask the cleaning ladies as she goes back to the office behind the desk to be on her phone, the room cleaners all spoke Spanish, which is no problem at all since I knew a small amount of Spanish. The front desk could've been more helpful.

Everything in the large room worked! Staff was friendly and helpful. Quiet and we encountered no issues.

Very clean, so clean and quiet so we decided to stay an additional night. Daytime clerk was nice but the night/morning and breakfast employee in charge, Brandy.. just Wow.. so nice and on top of everything, and charming, attractive, irrresistable. Will more than likely be back for those reasons! Brandy, get back with me! Show the good places around.

I'm not much for breakfast but the coffee was plentiful and hot, fresh fruit available. Rooms were spacious and clean. The staff was exceptional, friendly, knowledgeable of the area and birding. We were there primarily to see whooping cranes. This was a successful bird watching visit in the local area.

New, very clean, very close to the Kiewit shipyard. Close to Blackbeards restaurant but one still needs a car to get there or any other place to eat. Very friendly and polite staff. Breakfast is OK. Hot coffee all the time.

All staff very nice and friendly. Comfortable bed..I slept better than I had in a long time. Less than 1/2 mile to HEB. Very good price.

No dislikes at all. I would stay there again.

Room smelled like an old hotel and it needed updated. The mattress seemed old as well.
