We like the location,rooms,beds, over all its always very comfortable.

I didn't like the fact that our room did not get clean on our second day there. We left at 7:30 am. And returned at 1:30 pm. And the room had not been cleaned. Cleaners mentioned they had alot of work. I guess they were behind. Also the trash in the back location is not very friendly ro sit outside and walk by every time you leave and come back to the room. Trash buns really have to be relocated or adjust. The smell is just not very inviting. Door to room,closet room eight are pretty hard to open and close. May need some maintenance/adjustments.

What I liked was the location, for a nightly stroll, unfortunately the bar at the pier was closed for renovations.

What I didn't like is that booking.com made a mistake on my reservation, causing me to be charged twice for the room yet two different prices, even though the owner refunded me for the booking.com's mistake it was two different price charges, $147 and $133 yet he decided to charge me the higher rate, which I found to be petty, and for $13 they lost out on our business to rent they're venue for a future planned event. It's unfortunate because peoples small actions of greed, for example charging $13 more, caused them to lose out on a customer who would have paid for a major event, probably in the cost region of 5 to $7,000.

We drove down from Houston for a weekend wedding in McAllen and decided to stop by the beach first. After reading a lot of negative reviews about hotels on South Padre Island—mostly complaints about cleanliness and outdated facilities—we looked for alternatives and found this gem in Port Isabel. We really liked our room—everything was super clean and well-maintained, making for a very comfortable stay. The building has charm, and the rooms are even nicer than the photos. The location is perfect: just across the bridge from South Padre Island, and there’s a wide variety of restaurants and tourist spots within a 10-minute walk. It’s also reasonably priced—definitely worth it in terms of quality and experience, especially compared to how expensive South Padre can get. There’s a beautiful coffee shop on the first floor, which was a great bonus. And the cherry on top? You’re right in front of the historic lighthouse, and we woke up to little birds singing outside our window. I’d absolutely stay here again next time I’m in the area.

Best place we could have stayed at near South Padre Island! Everything was wonderful. The room was comfy, clean, warm and cozy. The reception area and coffee shop were also super cute. The manager, a young man that was also taking care of the café and shop area is a gem, incredibly friendly. We will definitely stay here whenever we visit the area, for sure!

There was a little misunderstanding with the payment part of the process, that was supposed to be at the property. Just in case, I think it will be better to specify it in the comment section before finalizing the booking process, or via message to the property.

This was very clean. The mini splitter a/c unit was cold. Large flat screen with cable, ask for the wifi password to get good cell phone signal. Perfect location next to restaurants and antique stores. The historical light house is across the street. We had the downstairs suite, which was in back of the store. Large shower, plenty of light, mini fridge, and a large walkin closet.. Be sure to visit the establishment, I highly recommend the ice cream. We will definitely use this location again.

Everything! Staff was very friendly. My son always looks forward to digging for toys in the toy bin…even when we’re not staying there. Everything is always clean and well kept. Like the boutique and restaurant at the bottom! A charcuterie board and wine hour would be a great addition! Also, adding string lights attached to posts (or something elevated) in the deck in the back would be a nice addition!

Internet went in and out a couple of times. No one’s fault but the internet people I guess.

Nice decor. good size room, comfortable bed and pillows, clean, fairly centric, good restaurants and attractions near by.

These are minor and just in the spirit of constructive criticism. Sound insulation between rooms could be better. We could hear the person next room snoring (faintly but...) Attention to detail is lacking just a bit. Some caulking lines were cracked, a bit of paint from the walls in ceiling, hard water stains in the shower head, no light inside the shower, main chandelier a bit dusty, in general just little stuff but it cheapens the feel a bit. I know some other people like it but for us the cleaning product smell was a fairly strong....it took us a while to get used to it. Parking situation could be a bit better with reserved spots for guest. It took us a few minutes to find a parking spot around the building. Rooftop lounge terrace and pool would be a phenomenal addition.

We stayed on the bottom floor and the floors were very cold and because of temp and humidity needed some type of rug on side of bed etc-also would have loved more towel or robe hooks in the bathroom to hang towels or robe/swimsuits etc on. The fridge may also need to be services because if made a lot of noise during the night on and off. So just a cozy rug and hooks for bathroom but everything else was great!

Everything!! Very Clean, smelled amazing coming up the stairs, easy to get to, was able to checkin early, newly renovated, price was perfect, close walk to anything (food, shops, lighthouse), free parking, boutique downstairs and cafe. I could go on and on. I highly recommend to anyone! Our pictures were right beside the hotel we didn’t get any inside pictures but the pictures that are up on the website are exactly what you will see in person ❤️

The AC was hard to understand and couldn’t get cool enough. It was too late to call someone when we got back to the room at nite to ask for instructions. We tried to google the make and model and it wasn’t much help. We slept ok but was alittle warm. I will say this is the only thing we could say negatively. We will make plans to come back here again and get the AC worked out before after hours.

The place is adorable. Clean, cozy and I felt comfortable and got a good nights sleep.

Not sure if it would be a good option for a handicap person. I took the back stairs and didn’t see how someone using a walker or wheelchair would be able to get to their room. There may be a different way into the hotel that can accommodate those with limited mobility issues, but the entrance I used did not seem to have those kind of accommodations.
