Well let’s start with the folks that run this establishment. In a word fantastic! Just the best people we’ve ever stayed with in a hotel setting. Specifically, (Ram Ram) Gina, who runs the hotel with ease and grace. Her job is no easy one and takes considerable skill but she seemingly does it flawlessly! Just an exceptional human being! She upgraded our hotel room to a beautiful room that had a kitchenette with a sink, refrigerator and microwave. The room was super clean from the bathroom to the sheets and blankets. This is due to the fastidious work of the Royal Inn’s housekeeping duo of Vishnu and his lovely wife Laated. The Royal Inn will be upgrading the entire facility with a full remodel in the very near future. We are elated with this information for we will certainly be coming back to stay in the revamped facility. Oh and for those bay sayers regarding their stay at the hotel. I know these folks were just not following the directions articulated at check in. There’s no smoking of anything on-site. There’s no illegal activity allowed on-site. I can only surmise that bad reviews were written in retaliation of these basic hotel guidelines.
This really isn’t a slight on behalf of the hotel owners. It’s honestly not their fault. Unfortunately, there is an element of bad players that stay at the hotel and linger around the hotel. The hotel owners/management has the ability to refuse service to anyone they deem unfit to stay at the hotel. Unfortunately, these folks have their family or friends rent a room and do not follow the basic guidelines laid out by the hotel and arguably at any hotel in Salt Lake City and its surrounding areas that we’ve ever stayed at.

Right near restaurants and grocery stores. Great room with everything that I needed
Large room but small TV with even smaller captions to read not to mention the fact that the TV was very close to the ceiling and not centered in front of the bed. TV so small that I could not watch anything until darkness or I close the curtains in the room because I could not read the caption because they were so small. Very small freezer section in the refrigerator and freezer with ice so thick you couldn’t even use the freezer, 2–3 inches thick

Great location and the motel was nice considering price point and age. There was wear and tear but nothing unclean or unsanitary. All fixtures in the room worked.
Only real complaint is the outside floodlights. They point right at the building, and in our case right at our window. The curtains kept out most of the light, but enough came in below and above the curtains that it kept me up for a good hour.

Inquiries, Exclusions, Charges, and Other Specific Rules Related to Service Animals When it is not obvious what service an animal provides, only limited inquiries are allowed. Staff may ask two questions: (1) is the dog a service animal required because of a disability, and (2) what work or task has the dog been trained to perform. Staff cannot ask about the person’s disability, require medical documentation, require a special identification card or training documentation for the dog, or ask that the dog demonstrate its ability to perform the work or task. Allergies and fear of dogs are not valid reasons for denying access or refusing service to people using service animals. When a person who is allergic to dog dander and a person who uses a service animal must spend time in the same room or facility, for example, in a school classroom or at a homeless shelter, they both should be accommodated by assigning them, if possible, to different locations within the room or different rooms in the facility. A person with a disability cannot be asked to remove his service animal from the premises unless: (1) the dog is out of control and the handler does not take effective action to control it or (2) the dog is not housebroken. When there is a legitimate reason to ask that a service animal be removed, staff must offer the person with the disability the opportunity to obtain goods or services without the animal’s presence. Establishments that sell or prepare food must generally allow service animals in public areas even if state or local health codes prohibit animals on the premises. People with disabilities who use service animals cannot be isolated from other patrons, treated less favorably than other patrons, or charged fees that are not charged to other patrons without animals. In addition, if a business requires a deposit or fee to be paid by patrons with pets, it must waive the charge for service animals.
ADA Requirements: Service Animals Last updated: February 28, 2020 The Department of Justice published revised final regulations implementing the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) for title II (State and local government services) and title III (public accommodations and commercial facilities) on September 15, 2010, in the Federal Register. These requirements, or rules, contain updated requirements, including the 2010 Standards for Accessible Design (2010 Standards).

The room itself was homey lots of places to sit comfortably and the window seat was fabulous for reading. The bathroom was very spacious as well. I really enjoyed being here and would stay again.
The only thing missing was a stove in the kitchenette, then again I'm sure if I asked for one I most likely would have been accommodated.

Very clean, newly updated.
The back entrance and parking lot were very sketchy. A lot of garbage on the ground, including needles. A lot of questionable people and activities happening. A lot of in and out traffic. It was concerning. We used to front entrance only because it was safer.

the room was very clean, and the amenities were nice.
the staff weren't very welcoming to guests. I was yelled at by the lady at the front desk because I rang the bell to get her attention twice and was made to feel very uneasy.

Location is great it's about a 2-5 minute walk to a bunch of restaurants/stores.The hotel was very quiet especially at night. The property and rooms are very clean and the beds/pillows are very comfortable.
There was a small hole in the ceiling above the shower. Made showering a tad bit uncomfortable and the door handle to the bathroom was missing.

Very clean and organized. The room had a good smell and was very affordable for the quality. The host was very heart warming and outgoing. Would definitely make this a place of recommendation.
