The location is good, although the closure of Temple Square has taken away a lot of its advantages.

Parking is an extra ten dollars a night. Even in Downtown, I find this unacceptable. We are already guests of the hotel and it costs extra for parking?

Central location. Very nice view from our floor. Nice people.

Staff at the front desk were fantastic--informative, friendly, efficient, helpful. The woman working the breakfast room on Sunday morning was extraordinarily helpful in suggesting possible activities for Sunday afternoon and evening. Room far from vending machines and elevators was very quiet and offered a nice view of the capital building, especially lit up at night. Fridge with working, tidy freezer, Nice shower head.

Neither business center or swimming pool functional due to hotel renovations. Heater blew directly at one side of the bed though it was very efficient.

No breakfast included, parking is costly. The main issue - our room was surrounded between the elevators (3 of them) so all night we’re listening the elevators moving, loud guests coming in and out, a lot of other noises (probably from ice machines located beside the elevators). It was last minute booking and they probably have only those types of rooms, but if they let us know, we would rather stay in other hotel. Didn’t get much sleep at night and have had to drive for 6 hours the next day. So, make sure your room isn’t an elevator room!!!

I was very happy with our stay, for what I paid I really just want a clean and safe place and that’s what I got. Yes it’s a little outdated but it gives the place character and I like that. I don’t need my hotels to be minimalistic and boring. The front desk was very kind to give us a higher floor and a room away from the elevator so we could have more quiet. Whenever I called to confirm or ask about early check in the lady on the phone was super pleasant and when we arrived too early for a room I think his name was Dave, he stored our bags for us. We were able to check in a little earlier than the standard time and we appreciated it. Also the area was perfect, lots of stuff around to see and places to walk without having to rely on transport. I didn’t feel unsafe at any point while here. Also I really adored the lobby restrooms, they were just so pretty and satisfied my vintage loving soul.

I guess I would agree with what some of the reviews said about the bathroom not having a fan or vent of some sort to allow the steam to dissipate. But other than that I don’t have any complaints.

Staff were welcoming and helpful the entire stay. The breakfast room, while modest, provided tremendous value. The free coffee and hot water throughout the day was welcome. And the location right across from Temple Square and around the corner from the Family Search center. Being right across from the TRAX station was super convenient, within walking and the free TRAX access to nearby restaurants that suit any taste. Excellent value compared to other hotels nearby.

I liked everything! But folks need to know that the furnishings are not going to be up to date. There was some construction that added unexpected noise during the day.

It had a nice lobby and the staff was polite. The room was clean but a bit outdated however it was comfortable.

You have to pay for parking and put down a deposit. Which when I booked it said nothing on it . So it was a surprise when we checked in. Also the parking a garage was way to low for our vehicle but luckily found parking right as we entered. You also have to pay for breakfast. So for how much the room was disappointed that breakfast was not included.

Love the location, close to the site-seeing places, shops/restaurants all within walking distance. The beds were comfortable, wifi, and plenty of elevators. good TV lots of channels to choose from rooms were clean and decent. room had a small fridge which was nice for keeping water. sodas cold

the toilet was a little loose on the tank, tub/shower was noisy when turned on, not water noise but piping in the wall as if no insolation was in the walls. We could hear the light rail all the time even at night when trying to sleep.

The elevator was fast. The shower was good and easy to adjust. The beds were soft, but comfortable for me. My friend didn't like it as well as I did, however. The coffee in the reception area was available 24/7, I think. And it tasted pretty good. They had several dispensers for a variety of snacks or food that could be heated in a microwave. The room had both a microwave and refrigerator and the fridge was cold. I mention that because I've been places where the fridge isn't turned on or is set at a very warm setting and if you don't notice it, then the next day your food may spoil. The WIFI was reasonably fast.

The hotel had paid parking for $10 per night. I thought that should be included in the cost of the room, although the fee is not excessive. The slider door was sealed shut and there was no way to ventilate the room with fresh air. The hallways were much too warm. And our room was 70 F when we entered. I turned it down to 64 to sleep, but the temperature was 69 F the next morning and 68 the following afternoon when we returned. I don't know if the thermostat does anything. The bathroom had no ventilation fan.

I chose it for the excellent value. The location was even better than I thought. The light rail from the airport dropped right at the front door. Temple Square was next door. City Creek across the street. The staff was very nice and helpful. Checkin was easy. My room was cozy and clean. It was small but a large room is a waste; I honestly prefer small. There was a coffee maker in my room, which is important for me. I walked everywhere I was going, mainly The Nutcracker at the Capital Theatre about ten minutes away. I felt very safe, yet there was security at night.

The lobby decor and Christmas tree were “tired” and could use some updating. This is NOT a complaint, just an observation. Many hotels now have such nice lobby decor.
