This was my first time staying at this hotel. It is conveniently located on Richmond Highway near Fort Belvoir and is accessible to at least three public transit options that can take you to the metro. From King Street you can take the REX, the 171(from Huntington Metro) or the 151 (from Huntington Metro). You can literally just walk out of the hotel, make a slight right and there is a bus stop on the corner. The hotel itself has a pool located on the second floor and a very specious area for breakfast. I'm picky about breakfast - I will typically skip it because sometimes the spaces are too crowded but this space provided plenty of room and they have charging stations so that you can charge your phone. The breakfast is a hot buffet style so there is a choice of breakfast meat, eggs, a waffle making station, three types of coffee including decaf, a cereal station, and places where you can get juice. Plus there is a friendly staffer who is consistently checking to make sure it's clean. Overall, I liked the location of my room. I was on a top floor and slept quietly. Also - a huge plus - just turn on the fan if you're like me and need noise to sleep. I didn't hear a thing. I was knocked out. You can hear people closing their doors but when I say it's very quiet it's very quiet. I'd opt for a top floor near the elevator as it made coming and going very easy. The linens were good. Don't know why that's a thing for me but I love thick hand towels. The bed was comfortable. Pillows not really firm but if you stack them you'll sleep well. Comfortable bed overall. I like the bath shampoo, conditioner, and body wash being anchored to the bath as opposed to the little bottles. You also get a face soap and makeup remover, as well as a blow dryer. Just wish I could have stayed longer. Maybe next time :)

The room was a little dated but that wasn't a big deal. It was clean and the linens were perfect. I would opt to get breakfast early as it can be really crowded around 7am.

My ratings for breakfast, room cleanliness, and bed comfort is based on price. For the price I think this hotel did a great job. Breakfast food could have been better but you have to consider the price charged for the breakfast. Overall the food was very good and given the price it was excellent. The exercise room offered a good selection of machines. The lobby offered snacks for sale. There is a convenience store within a 5 minutes walk. Plus the in-room refrigerator was really cold. They also offered ice machines near the elevator door. Given the hot-humid weather in Alexandria VA the refrigerator was a bonus. I was visiting George Washington's Mount Vernon and this was one of the closest hotels. There was plenty of space for me to unpack my luggage. I was able to spread my things out and access them quickly.

My room was a long walk from the elevator. A really long walk. My room was located in the far end of the hotel from the entrance. I would have liked a screened window to let in fresh air. The ventilation system had a lot of circulation of airflow, so there was no problem. Air conditioner would come on, then turn off, and alternate between on & off mode. When the air conditioner was on it was on-full-blast mode, and you felt it. Wish it had a low, medium, and high setting.

Room was very quiet and comfortable. There was a malfunctioning desk lamp but they fixed it right away. The breakfast was very good with a variety of hot food and fresh fruit as well. The staff were extremely responsive, professional and friendly.

Initially I was put in a room near a family with a barking dog, even though I had requested a room in a quiet area. The staff fixed this issue right away and moved me to a different room which was much better. My only other concern was that the TV station line up was really limited, with no major network channels available at all. I also did not see a way to access any of my streaming apps through the TV, and no channel listing was provided in the room. So the TV offering was definitely below par.

This is the second time we have stayed at this hotel. This is now our go-to hotel when we go to Mount Vernon. It is only about a 10 minute drive away. The hotel is not that far from our favorite restaurants. The hotel is clean. The bed in our room was very comfortable. The rooms are bigger than you would expect. Our room had a microwave and mini fridge. And the staff was extremely helpful. There is an indoor pool; however, we did not use it this trip.

We weren't that impressed with the breakfast food. Day two was better than day one. But having a free breakfast is not the reason we will choose this hotel again. Don't let that deter you from choosing Hampton Inn and Suites.

Ms. Geri at the front desk and all the staff we encountered was amazing. Our room was clean and we were even able to extend our stay another day. The breakfast was hot and ready and delicious every morning. I was finally able to get some of the delicious fresh baked cookies in the evening. The location was 20-30 mins from everything we visited.

The pool could use some extra ventilation.

Very clean, staff was extremely friendly. Daily housekeeping, which is a rarity these days.

The breakfast was just so-so, although the staff in the breakfast area were absolutely amazing. The location is not quite in Alexandria and was a little bit far from the places we were going, but it wasn't really an inconvenience-just added some time to our travels (maybe 15 or 20 minutes).

Victoria at the front desk was extremely helpful with giving me directions on how to get back to Reagon National Airport car rental location. She printed out directions and answered all my question so I could get to the right location. She is a five-star rated employee.

Comfortable room and pretty clean. Looked like a pretty new hotel, plenty of free parking. Staff was exceptionally pleasant and helpful. The hot breakfast was included and absolutely lovely, managed by a very helpful lady who made us fresh scrambled eggs and potatoes, because we couldn't eat the pork that was in the omelets that were pre-made. She anticipated our needs and we didn't even have to ask! Nice stay and would consider coming back if needed.

The carpets in our room could benefit from a deep clean, but nothing terrible (I'm just picky).

Clean rooms. The cleaning people would call or knock to ask us if you want the room to be clean and what time. A lot of hotels don't have this option. You had to be out the room when they were cleaning and if you miss them, then you miss them. This gave us time to relax and not feel rushed. Also near everything, Walmart, target and few other places. P.S Love the Pool, very clean and not cold or over chlorine.

I wasn't able to get connecting rooms. So I had to walk back and forward outside from one room to the next. When booking with booked.com, call them to make sure you get connecting rooms days in advance.

Loved the great breakfast which started before 6:00 AM. Hot tea, coffee, and chocolate available all day. Room was super clean and comfortable. Desk provided referral to a wonderful restaurant for dinner. Great location, very short drive to Washington’s Mount Vernon, which was our destination.
