We came for an admitted students day at JMU and the location was perfect. The room was clean and updated with a small seating area and desk (which was just enough space). Food and shopping are all within walking distance. The staff was super friendly, even coming up to our room when I had an issue with the shower (it wasn't broken, it was just a 'unique' design).

Parking situation, but it's really unavoidable given the location.

Upon entering the hotel, I was greeted by the most friendly staff who immediately made me feel genuinely welcome. I loved the authentic feel of the staff who I felt were nice because that was who they were as a people and not just employees.

I may have missed this...but a brief guide explaining how to use the tv remote might be helpful for those whose technology skills are not intuitive.

The hotel was so nice and clean. The staff was gracious with the check-in. We arrived early and the staff was able to get us into the hotel. Kudos to the front desk lady, you are appreciated! The breakfast was AMAZING! I have had my fair share of hotel stays with breakfast included but never was it this good! The bathrooms were equipped with dove products (shampoo, conditioner, handwash, body wash & lotion). And the room was the PERFECT temperature! They even had Chobani, will definitely stay there in the future

The front desk young lady was sooo nice! She was helpful! The rooms were nice and the bathroom was huge. We traveled with our kiddos and having the pool was nice.

The breakfast area was sooo crowded, we couldn’t sit down to eat. Also needed more towels in the pool area.

The proximity to several food options as well as our work location was excellent.

Small thing but usually when we stay a place like HIE the breakfast also has potatoes.

We stayed at a Holiday Inn Express in Ottawa in 2019 and the breakfast we enjoyed in Harrisonburg was much better! Scott, the waiter, was so friendly and polite. The bed was extremely comfy and it was so useful to have a small night-light in the bathroom. It was good to have proper coat hangers instead of those horrid ones that are fixed to the rail and the chair beside one bed was extremely comfy. The hotel lift was very quick and efficient - in contrast to other hotels where we've stayed. The hotel grounds were smart and everything felt very new and clean.

We didn't need 2 beds and would have preferred a second comfy chair instead! After 5 days we'd got fed up with plastic cutlery and paper cups at breakfast. There wasn't a hook on the back of the bathroom door and the hooks for coats had a small shelf beneath which meant neither could be used to their best advantage. But there was nothing we really didn't like and these are small niggles.

The property charged me a $50.00 deposit when I got there and at no time was I told this. you called and was told that ai could pay cash at the property. when I go there they would not take cash and said that bookings would pull it from the card I used to reserve the room ending in 1997. I checked and it had not come out. I checked my other booking for August and I got a notification from my bank that I am using for that trip, that Bookings was trying to pull the payment from the account I am using in August for this one today. Can someone please pull from the account that I confirmed with for today. it caused a negative balance in my other account. thank you

The cleanliness, location and quiet.

Pillows too soft and the pool looked murky with no flow of water so we didn’t feel comfortable swimming. Which was not good because that is one of the reasons why we chose the place.

Breakfast Included hot meals, not just a continental breakfast. Great selection for traveling with children. We had the entire pool room to ourselves. It was clean and very comfortable. I don't imagine having to come near this area again, but if I do I would absolutely stay here again.

There really wasn't much we weren't happy about. It was literally in the center of every thing we could possibly need. A minute away is another quaint historical downtown area.
