Great location, right downtown within walking distance to a lot of restaurants and bars. It was affordable and came with a very decent breakfast. The coffee was also good and plentiful. The staff was lovely and eager to help with any and all issues.
My room wasn’t as clean as I would’ve liked it to be. The bathroom had clearly not been mopped in awhile with some soap drops on the floor that then collected dust. The shower was not clean, there was pink mold in the corner and some questionable black stuff in another, I wiped this up easily myself with a towel, but didn’t have access to disinfectants. The curtains were not intuitive, I had to prop a chair on the side to get sunlight in the room.

All the staff was friendly, professional and helpful. The whole place was clean and inviting. The breakfast had many hot and cold choices and was always clean and inviting. Our room, which was a suite was very spacious. The 2 beds had very nice linens and plenty of pillows. It included 2 screens: Living area and bedroom. Plenty of storage options, including an easy to use safe. The bathroom was very nicely set up. Great central location, walkable to many downtown sights, especially the canal walk, historic Richmond and restaurants.
A constant challenge in almost all hotels is where to place your wet towels and wash cloths after a shower. Some hooks or bars might assist.

Room layout was large. Maybe absurdly large for how it was furnished. Pillows labeled "firm" was a nice touch.
Holiday Inn Express breakfasts i forgot are typically prepackaged omelets heated up and put out in warming pans. If you know thos gling in, you'll be prepared as to what their version of "hot breakfast" is, it's NOT eggs made to order. Also the coffee was out by 9am, 30min before service end, and I was told it was "making" , but it never came out. Also the plates are Styrofoam with literally zero tensile strength, and I nearly lost all my food down onto my clothes as I tried to serve myself and it folded in half. Mattress was too soft for my aching back after a long drive.

The location was ideal for every experience we were in the city for The breakfast was better than expected Most of the staff were friendly and helpful Alana was particularly attentive and very knowledgeable and helpful. We stayed here for 3 nights and she made this a memorable stay for us Beds were comfortable and towels were changed every day.
There was no bar or option to purchase a refreshment in the evening. Coffee ran out at breakfast for 20 mins despite staff being aware. Alana was not on duty at that point. I have no doubt she would have sorted this quickly.

The hotel was very nice, clean, centrally located, and I was impressed with the quality of the front desk staff. They were all polite, professional, and really went out of their way to be helpful. The views from the hotel room of the city were cool. The room was spacious, clean, and well lit. The hotel was a little difficult to find from our uber arriving at night, but it is very obvious during the daytime. We appreciated the availability of a late check-in as well as being able to store our bags there for a few hours after we checked out.
No complaints really. We did not have a car, so cannot comment on parking.

This hotel was a great experience! I wanted to take the bed home with me.. or just never leave LOL the staff are all super sweet, the room was clean the bathroom looks like it had been recently upgraded; very nice. Oh yeah and the breakfast was amazing such a variety of things to eat:-)
I can't really think of anything I didn't like.. paying for parking was not great.. $20 a night but it's kind of to be expected in this economy. Parking garage is right underneath the hotel so you just take an elevator to your floor it's really convenient.

Location and free upgrade and three giant windows on a corner room and the large rooms! What a great view of Richmond
OMG next door in room 602 there was a non stop drinking bunch of people and I had a 6am flight to catch and slept maybe 11-130am and was awake the entire rest of the time. The phones in the room are a joke and do not ring front desk. The toll free number goes to national and my back pain was such that I wasn’t able to get downstairs at the time. Maybe an emergency number would have been good.

Located in Downtown Richmond, the Holiday Inn Express provided a place during a conference I attended. I could drive and park on the street for free, saving me from paying for parking. The room was spacious and comfortable. It was only a few min drive to the hosting hotel for the conference. Due to cost, I stayed at the HIE, which was a good choice.
Parking per night costs $20, pretty steep. You can park on the street for free as long as you move before the time free time expires. Otherwise a good hotel for an alternative option.

Convenient to allianz amphitheater. Front desk clerks gave us free drinks on the way back after the show.
Parking was a night mare. 6 feet height maximum on parking garage and only 6 spaces outside of garage to park. Room door had light coming in underneath. Approx a 1 inch gap. Could not open shades at all. Seemed broken.. Breakfast did not look appealing. Left without even touching it. Most likely will not be back.

Location is great, close to everything that we've planned to visit. A lot of places to eat. Ability to part a car before check in a nice bonus, no need to search for parking in downtown. Breakfast was exceptional.
There is no info anywhere on how to get to parking, I had to call the hotel to understand how to park. There was no hot water for tea in the evening, though it may have been accidental
