All the staff was friendly, professional and helpful. The whole place was clean and inviting. The breakfast had many hot and cold choices and was always clean and inviting. Our room, which was a suite was very spacious. The 2 beds had very nice linens and plenty of pillows. It included 2 screens: Living area and bedroom. Plenty of storage options, including an easy to use safe. The bathroom was very nicely set up. Great central location, walkable to many downtown sights, especially the canal walk, historic Richmond and restaurants.

A constant challenge in almost all hotels is where to place your wet towels and wash cloths after a shower. Some hooks or bars might assist.

This hotel was a great experience! I wanted to take the bed home with me.. or just never leave LOL the staff are all super sweet, the room was clean the bathroom looks like it had been recently upgraded; very nice. Oh yeah and the breakfast was amazing such a variety of things to eat:-)

I can't really think of anything I didn't like.. paying for parking was not great.. $20 a night but it's kind of to be expected in this economy. Parking garage is right underneath the hotel so you just take an elevator to your floor it's really convenient.

Located in Downtown Richmond, the Holiday Inn Express provided a place during a conference I attended. I could drive and park on the street for free, saving me from paying for parking. The room was spacious and comfortable. It was only a few min drive to the hosting hotel for the conference. Due to cost, I stayed at the HIE, which was a good choice.

Parking per night costs $20, pretty steep. You can park on the street for free as long as you move before the time free time expires. Otherwise a good hotel for an alternative option.

The bed was lovely and comfy, tv good and the staff members were so helpful and accommodating especially John.

Because we are English, we are used to an English breakfast with bacon, grilled tomatoes, mushrooms, choice of fried or scrambled eggs, toast, beans. So to us the breakfast wasn’t great. The hot water for tea kept running out and they run out of orange juice for 2 of the nights of our 3 night stay.

I liked how the staff, specifically John, was so patient and friendly with guests. It was an especially busy weekend but every time I saw him he was providing excellent customer service!

During my stay there was a youth soccer team there as well, so that interrupted my quiet experience. I wish the hotel could ask the parents to enforce rules. The children were running and making loud noises.

Friendly staff, parking on-site, close to nice downtown, fully key carded hotel, nice large room with extra space, nice , new fixtures, very meticously cleaned including a very nice employee tidying up the garage, garage security cameras, breakfast. Thank you for your professionalism!

Maybe tighter upkeep of room, hallway maintenance, a few leakage marks and rough doorway and corner details.

The hotel is always nice we stay here for cheer competitions every year. The staff is always friendly.

It is in a bad part of town. At night there are homeless people walking around the parking garage. I hate that we have to pay for parking. The breakfast was a let down this time as the juice machine and the pancake machine were broken.

The staff was very accommodating, really friendly, helpful, professional and kind. I love the women at the front desk. We got a free upgrade on the room. The room was huge, clean, comfortable and air conditioning worked well. The downtown location was great, about 20 minutes to the Capitol building. There are a few bars and restaurants nearby too. This hotel offers a hot breakfast (omelet, sausage etc.). Other options are also available (fruits, juice, cereals, yogurt, cream cheese, jam, toast, bagels, muffins, etc.). The cinnamon rolls are delicious!

We were pleasantly surprised with the entire experience. The two gentleman that checked us in/out were so pleasant and inviting, the room was incredibly spacious, and the location was perfect.

The only thing we didn’t care for, which in this day and age has nothing to do with the hotel cleanliness, was the overwhelming smell of pot in the elevator and in the hallway of the 3rd floor where we stayed. Thankfully our room didn’t smell of pot at all.

Very clean, most of the staff was really kind. The rooms had everything that we needed it. The best part was the breakfast in the mornings. Really good.

Maybe the location would be not the best one and there was no ramp if you arrive with heavy luggage you have to lift it upstairs in the main entrance cause inside you have lift.
