Pool, spa, location, wonderful staff.

Unfortunately a chain smoker stayed in the room next to ours (room 312), smoking on her balcony from morning through evening. We loved our room & looked forward to spending more time enjoying the view from our balcony, alas, that wasn’t the case. Usually our room didn’t smell like smoke because we kept our door closed but the last night of our stay I could smell it sitting on the sofa, so I guess it came through the vent. I didn’t complain presuming the hotel allows smoking in outdoor areas &, frankly, because the smoker’s addiction probably already causes her enough pain & discomfort.

I was able to turn off the AC. It was a very quiet room, which is not common in the US. The area is a bit outside the center, with great places to run along the river all the way to the National Mall. It has steam bath and sauna, which are open from 7AM until night (9PM or so).

There was no buffet breakfast, only à la carte. The steam bath had an odd smell (old water pipes?). It would be better to add some eucalyptus or other scent to the steam. Contrarily to the steam bath, the sauna is mixed (in the pool area), which in the US means making a sauna with swimming suit (and risking burns from its elastics!), and there is no access from the sauna to outside, to cool down between sauna sessions. It also has a nice pool and jacuzzi, but I didn't use them.

Great hotel with super friendly and helpful staff. Room was huge with a good working/chill area and sofa. Huge bathroom with good amenities. Used the pool as well which I luckily had all to myself, didn't use the gym but it look very well equipped, spacious and relatively quiet. Lovely view onto the river as well. Good location too, lots of great places to visit nearby and super easy to get ubers to visit other areas in DC.

I had a noisy neighbour for one of the nights, the hotel did offer me a different room but I had already unpacked and found that the noisy neighbour was only going to be there for one night so decided not to. Not the hotel's fault, just something that happened.

Staff were so attentive and pleasant. The food was delicious. So good having the pool to unwind in after a busy day sightseeing. I would definitely recommend to anyone thinking of visiting Washington. So close to the waterfront where you will find lots of restaurants.

Hotel was situated about an hours walk f rom most sights we had to get a taxi everywhere. That being said, it didn't bother us but just so others are aware.

Rooms were excellent. View of Potomac...well stocked bar/refrigerator...large spacious bathrooms with great showers and double sinks...efficiency of automated elevator system led to short waits...room lighting is excellent...Fitness Center: good quality machines and a good number of them....sauna....valet service ($58) expensive but invaluable and well run.

Our second room was not ready until 5:30, 90 minutes later than we were supposed to be able to check in, for which we received no apology or recompense. Bed pillows were a disaster as they provided no support whatsoever, dramatically undermining our sleep. And room key did not work at Fitness Center wasting 15 minutes of my time.

The rooms were amazing, extremely clean, and very comfortable. The bed was the most comfortable bed in any hotel and the shower, WOW!! Hot, hot, super water pressure. We had an all-around amazing stay.

The bar downstairs wasn't consistent for pricing. One day beer was one price, the next day, it was double. Not sure why, but nevertheless, the hotel was fantastic.

Central location in Georgetown, easy access to main points of interest, comfortable, well appointed room, excellent housekeeping services, first rate but expensive restaurant, excellent spa facilities with an indoor pool that's actually good for swimming (~20 yard lap pool) although the heater was not working during our stay.

Would like a small concession selling items like aspirin and toothpaste.

Lovely historic hotel with a very good breakfast (albeit pricey). Well preserved exterior and reasonably modern interior. The view of the river is pleasant. Small details like the cup mats had information about the hotel and it's history which was a nice touch.

The lifts are in need of servicing and at times can be very loud, even in the rooms. The rooftop bar is closed over the winter period which we hadn't realised until we got up there. The price of the minibar/confectionary in the room was extortionate, made worse in that there are very limited options around for any such things.

-The $35.00 pp breakfast buffet. -The $58.00 a day to park our motorcycle when we didn't even use a space. -No microwave. -Tiny pods for coffee that didn't even make a full 8oz cup. And you only received two pods. -One bath robe and one pair of slippers when there were two people in the room. -No information in your room about any restaurants, maps or attractions that you could visit. When you have people that are coming from out of town this is important. -No pen or pad -No bible I think for almost 1500.00 for three nights was a little over the top.

Staff and facilities are absolutely amazing, and the location is convenient. If you get caugh here without an umbrella, you'll walk the streets in style.

As a result of booking through booking.com, my inclusive breakfast barely subsidized breakfast. I also found the bar staff to be underaccommodating. So one is on booking.com and the other the Watergate.
