overall the lobby had an upscale look, however the music played over the speakers was loud and unnecessary for a lobby. The music selection and loudness was more appropriate for a bar or dance hall. It was difficult to have a conversation with friends while this music was blaring.

The rooms require a great deal of upkeep. For a 4 star hotel I was very disappointed. The wallpaper throughout the room was covered in stains, the bathroom wall was filthy and the hook on the bathroom door was broken. The bedframe, covered in leather had been wiped so often that the leather had been worn away. The rooms really need to be freshly painted, cleaned and refurbished.

Every staff member we came in contact with was exceptional. Friendly, helpful, professional. Gio at front desk and Rafika at the concierge/bell stand in particular. Liked the very large rooms with big, bright windows. Nice view over the city street. Appreciated the steamer in addition to the iron & board in the room. Necessary for our suits and formal dresses. AC was top notch. There are plenty of restaurant options and 2 metro stops within walking distance. An excellent little bodega is just 2 doors down, with lovely people, delicious breakfast sandwiches, wines, water, snacks and very good coffee and espresso drinks. We were there every day. Classic, old business-style hotel. Very quiet.

The guest rooms need a refresh. Though in generally good standing, there were ugly stains on the carpeting, faded wallpaper in the bath, chipped furniture and the entry door had obvious repair patches made and not painted properly to hide them. The toilet was a bit rickety and didn't flush well. Nothing was truly gross or dirty (*outside of the carpet) but the issues are careless and could be easily rectified with a little care and attention. Please make the room updates soon and the hotel will be a truly wonderful 10/10 boutique find.

It's location was fantastic. Near Metro stop with direct line from Dulles airport. Walking distance to all the monuments and museums. Easy access to the waterfront in Georgetown.

No breakfast options and too expensive to eat at the hotel. No microwave unless you requested it. Only one chair in the room. It would be nice to have seating for two for when we needed to rest after a long day of touring and walking miles. I'm also not a fan of the coffee set up in the room. Single serving is wasteful and tricky for tea drinkers. They did, however, provide hot beverages in the lobby in the mornings.

Melrose Georgetown is an attractive hotel. The restaurant and the bar (which are separate from one another) are located on the main floor. There are several very nice lounging areas with comfortable seating and tables to have a drink and a chat with friends. There is a large gym downstairs with varied equipment, however I never actually used the gym due to a tight schedule. The rooms are comfortable and include chairs and a table, as well as a work area.

The AC vent above the work table in my room was dripping one evening, possibly due to condensation. This was not a huge issue, but it did make me nervous to leave my laptop on the desk.

We had a deluxe king room which was very spacious and comfortable. The room had a mini fridge and coffee maker, and there was also complimentary coffee and tea in the mornings in the lobby area. There was a business center where one could print out documents or access the internet, and there were areas in the lobby where one could hang out. Also a bar and restaurant. It was close to the metro and a number of nice restaurants. Very easy to use the metro to get to the sights in town.

I am sensitive to light at night, and while the windows had perfect curtains to cut out the light, there was a light frame around the door

The staff are very helpful and kind, there was slight issue with the TV connection (main connection fault) the staff has resolved it by moving us to a different room. The location is good, rooms are big,clean and comfortable. Love their molton brown toiletries. Near to metro station and bus stop next to the hotel. The distance stated of places of interest shown on the app are quite accurate. I will definitely stay here again. 😊

Lobby is very modern and chic, but the room itself gets a mixed review. Our 6th Floor Suite was spacious, but the toilet had some weird rust stain in the toilet bowl, and the tub looked a bit stained. The couch and pillows were dusty. The carpet looked really outdated. And one TV was a Smart TV while the other one was standard Dish? While this hotel is not on the 'Haunted DC Hotels' list, I had an uncomfortable sense of being "watched" while in the room and the hair on the back of my neck went up a lot. Also, a loud clanging noise woke me up at like 3 am. but no voices or other noise. There's no record of the Melrose being haunted, so these weird occurrences were surprising. Overall, it was a lovely stay, but if the hotel is a 4, rooms were more like 3-3.5.

The room was large and well equipped. Housekeeping was prompt and thorough. The front desk, especially Aliya was fantastic. There is a small convienence store next door and a Trader Joes within a block, plus an in-room fridge, which was fantastic. Location was close enough to walk to either Georgetown or the White House.

The onsite restraunt was overpriced and the food wasn't great, plus slow service. The bar was nice but overpriced, however the rest of the stay was excellent.

Our room was beautiful, comfortable, huge by contemporary hotel standards. The decoration, spacing, lighting were thoughtful. The bathroom was comfortable, large and the toiletries, useful and good quality. On the first night they left us a courtesy of sparkling water, dried fruits and chocolates that was most welcome. The air conditioning was quiet and effective. There is a tea / coffee self service in the morning, and fresh water all day in the reception. The reception area is very pleasant and welcoming.

Plates and glasses left with the nut and chocolate courtesy were not changed or cleaned (despite being obviously dirty) for the whole four days of our stay! The mattress was not comfortable. It felt saggy. The shower / bathtub faucet constantly leaked, producing a sound that was annoying while we were in the bathroom - and obviously wasting water.

The location was exceptional. We easily took the metro from our Amtrak arrival and our Reagan airport departure. The metro station was a 5 minute walk and it was a 20 min walk to the Lincoln memorial. So we had a choice of walking or taking the metro. The hotel itself was excellent, as indicated in my prior responses. The front desk staff was very helpful and positive in their attitudes. The room had everything we needed and was very clean. The 7 am coffee in the lobby was a definite plus. However, there was a coffee maker in the room, but the coffee in the lobby had real milk or cream.
