Our stay at The Vancouver Hotel was simply wonderful I cannot thank David enough for his generous hospitality. He efficiently arranged airport transfers for us, and considering we were arriving at 4:00am, we were really grateful for his help. The area around the hotel is quiet and lovely to walk around. David very kindly arranged a tour of Cuc Phuong National Park for us as well and it was the perfect addition to our itinerary. He also suggested a lot of places to eat and have coffee nearby :) I had my first taste of Vietnamese salt coffee in Ninh Binh and loved it!!! The hotel is walking distance from convenience stores and the Ninh Binh night market. The breakfast was really enjoyable. I cannot recommend this place enough! Thanks for having us David and for making our first visit to Vietnam so lovely!!!

When I booked into the Hotel and collected my keys was casually talking about my plans for the evening.First they were going to take me by their car to the location I was talking about. I was genuinely overwhelmed with this level of generosity and I could tell it came from the heart and was sincere as well.This has been my best experience of a Family Run Hotel anywhere I have ever been. Honestly was there for 4 days and have an other half dozen stories of kindness and compassion from the owners of this Hotel.

Nothing to dislike. This question is redundant and not needed. For me this place is perfect but if you have mobility issues it’s stairs only no lift. That’s the only item I can think of that has a tiny mark against the Hotel

I purposely left reviewing this hotel until I had finished my travels in Asia, Australia and South America to see if I found a better hotel. I didn’t. Located in a quite ally just off one of the main streets of Ninh Binh, The Vancouver Hotel is a gem. On arrival David Tuan and Mrs Cherry are welcoming hosts and check in is seamless. It's only when you reach your room that you get a real surprise. The rooms are magnificent, as good as a European 5*. Large and spacious, well lite and airy, extra large double bed and superb en-suite, all very tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean. Breakfast is simple but very tasty, Mrs Cherry’s banana or pineapple pancakes are to die for. David organized a tour for me with David Taylor Travel, picked up at the hotel and spent the day in a small group, with a very informative and friendly guide, visiting Brich Dong Pagoda, Hang Mua Cave, Hoa Lu, and the highlight ️ Trang An, by boat. All brilliant. Lunch was very nice and plenty of food for all. Overall, an excellent experience. David also booked my train to Hue and very kindly brought me to the train station the morning I was leaving. The Vancouver Hotel gets 10 out 10. Ninh Binh. The HIGHLIGHT of my stay in Vietnam. Lovely little town, friendly people, a really nice riverside walking street that comes alive at night with loads of food and drink options and a very family friendly atmosphere. The residents are doing a great job of trying to keep the town clean, with loads of bins all over the place. Would love to return.

The helpfulness and thoughtfulness of the family who own the hotel. They arranged a good driver to take us to Hanoi Airport at 4.30 am and packed a breakfast for us. A very comfortable, clean and spacious room. Good location within walking distance of most of the places worth visiting, a good restaurant around the corner (Viva Mexico), and a short walk to an excellent laundry. The breakfast, although simple, included freshly squeezed orange juice, a plate of fresh fruit, well cooked free range eggs as well as tasty chicken pho. Good internet. All of this at a very fair price.

The Vancouver is a fantastic hotel in a perfect location. The room was spotless, the beds were very comfy and there was such attention to detail.The breakfast was beautifully presented and delicious. David , who runs the hotel, couldn't have been more kind and helpful. He went above and beyond for us...he booked us a great tour, booked us a train to Hue (we were having difficulties getting a seat as they all seemed to be booked out ) and he even gave us a lift to the station. I cannot recommend The Vancouver highly enough.

There was absolutely nothing not to like....everything was great.

Hospitality of host David was great! He was at hand to help us bring our luggage to the room. He helped us source for a reliable driver/ car for a full day. As driver Mr Tinh cant speak English, David volunteered to translate messages throughout the day! Even offered to send us to the train station when we were leaving. Despite its age, the room and bathroom are well- maintained. Just like the photos of the room and bathroom on the website. The finishes of the room are good and the beds are comfy. 3 persons share without sleeping on foldable bed or feeling cramped up. Wifi is good! The breakfast has a good selection: freshly brewed coffee, baguette, pancake, porridge, pho, juices, eggs, fruits. Located a short distance (2 min walk) just off the main road, it is quiet.

No elevator - we have to climb up 2 storeys. The sockets are 2-pin type. So not so convenient. While there are eateries around, they rest between lunch and dinner hours. Most are not aircon.

This "family-run" hotel in Ninh Binh made me feel like one of their family, and yet is also as professional as they come! Besides the wonderful room and the lovely breakfast, the staff provided me with great answers to my questions, rented me a useful motorbike, provided excellent advice in finding a trekking tour to the nearby Cuc Phuong National Park, and arranged my follow-on railway connection.

I can't think of anything about the hotel that I didn't like. I only wish I could have stayed longer to explore the town and nearby places of interest.

The rooms were very clean and modern. One of the better showers I had in Vietnam. The owners and staff are super friendly and flexible. It’s a small and family run hotel so I felt a personal touch and well taken care off. Breakfast options were nice. You can also book tours through the hotel.

Lovely stay here. The reviews here are great, and I can validate they are accurate. Exceptionally run hotel, prime location, perfect for a good night's rest when experiencing the beautiful nature of Ninh Binh. Start your day with a great breakfast on the house and off you go. The owner is a gentleman and very helpful. Can't imagine a better quick stay than here for this trip.

No complaints! Netflix would be nice but I had my fire stick ☺️.

A family run property that takes care of all your needs. They have a wide spread of breakfast to choose from. The host helps you with details on sightseeing and is happy to arrange a local transport for you to go around. The room was spotless, quiet (with no noises) for a good night's sleep.

The hotel is located in the center of the town, a bit away from tourist spots, so if you are looking for something in the midst of the touristy places, this may not be the place for you. I personally prefer quieter places, so this was absolutely perfect for me.
