Our beachfront villa was perfectly located at the resort. It was clean, roomy, elegant and just steps away from beachfront. It was almost like heaven on earth during our 5-night stay.

Couple of our bathrooms smelled like sewer for the first few days and we finally gave in and called front desk. The showers drainages needed to be unclogged and that did the trick. On the other front, it was summer break for the locals (Vietnamese) so breakfast was a bit chaotic (crying kids, kids running around dining areas), there was no shortages of loudness. Staffs need to speak up a bit louder. Everyone is so soft spoken, and you couldn't really hear or understood their responses to your questions.

Beautiful rooms with great facilities. Lots of entertainment for guests and easy to get around by buggies most of the time.

Staff are always on their phones which is annoying especially when they are driving in buggies or you are waiting to order food or drinks. They push you to the buffet over restaurants saying they are booked out but the restaurants are barely even 20% full. The food is average and the staff don’t clear plates or glass wear at the main bar areas. Also had room door left wide open after staff dropped off a departure letter to room, house keeping don’t knock or ring the bell just walk straight in even when you are in the room and unlock back doors and leave them open. Kids club they don’t really watch the children they just let them run out so unless you are close by and watching them then it’s not safe and defeats the purpose of having a kids club.

Where to start. I have stayed in some of the best hotels in the world, including the Emirates Palace and I have to say the Melia VinPearl was simply the best. We stayed with Melia in Palma in August and it was not great and we were a little apprehensive in staying with Melia so far away from home. One of our party has a severe Nut allergy, and with the language barrier we were very worried. We e mailed the guest services a number of times and we were still worried. As a individual who heads up a hotel company, I have really exacting standards. With this in mind and the Nut allergy issue we were all quite concerned. These concerns were addressed sympathetically and with a genuine desire to ensure we had a amazing stay. We checked in and were assigned our very own guest services manager. Vyan. What a absolute amazing person. Vyan worked tirelessly to make sure that anything and everything that we needed was provided. she went way above and beyond to make sure that we were so well looked after it was unreal. We have to say that she is a credit to the hotel and a phenomenal asset to the property. We had a villa and all we can say is wow. It was absolutel stunning. From the massive bedrooms to the private pool the entire villa was just amazing. Moving onto the food, it was simply divine. We were assigned a executive chef.. Stephen. What a absolute credit to the hotel. A truly lovely and humble gentleman. He took the issue of the nut allergy extremely seriousl. He personally prepared fresh food with no nuts. He even ensure red that the hotel purchased new pans and new oil so that there was no cross contamination. The food was simply stunning and we cannot thank Stephen enough for looking after us. Jonas the Food and Beverage manager was brilliant. Despite just joining the hotel, he worked tirelessly to make sure that all guests we looked after. Antonio assistant executive manager- wow simply the best. Overall simply amazing Thank you to all at the Melia VinPearl

Disorganized hotel... Probably local management, was my second time at Phu Quoc, and the other hotel (despite worse facilities) was much better organized

Villa is large with modern luxurious furniture. The kitchen is large but mostly useless. We tried multiple times to have some cooking utensils but they could not provide. Not even spoons or forks. There were ants and small insects in our kitchen. We understand the surroundings and the grass but this is not acceptable from a 5-star property and that too from the Melia brand. and LIZARDS OMG. There are lizards everywhere. We noticed 5 small lizards in the pool side, 3 at the front, and 2 inside the villa. So I assume the housekeeping is not done very well. Breakfast: simply amazing. The variety and quality of food is superb. The staff at the breakfast restaurant was very attentive and caring. They also brought some Indian vegetarian meal items for us and we appreciate them for this extra effort. The private beach is pretty and clean, though the sea was rough during our stay, so we could not swim. They also have bicycles available. Overall: Property facility 5/5, Food 5/5, Housekeeping 2/5.

We loved our stay at Melia. I saw a lot of previous reviews and concerns and we personally couldn’t relate. The shuttle service was very efficient for us and we used it probably 6 times a day. The staff really go out of their way to make sure you have an amazing stay. We traveled with a 1.5 year old and they really made sure she was having fun. The kids club was a life saver for us. It is true that none of the kitchen stuff works, but you don’t really need it other than the fridge (which does work). We loved our time here. You’re constantly greeted with smiles and care. What more can you really ask for ?

The only downside was a smelly sewer smell in the front bathroom of our villa. It’s a very common smell around the island, due to the mud from the rain and pools everywhere. So it’s hard to eradicate it completely. But with some room spray from a near by shop, you’ll be fine.

everything was good, the staff were friendly, helful. Kind of cool that moving around by tuk tuk 24/7 cos the compound is big, we liked it. we enjoy the pool very much, very private and comfortable.

food was poor of taste, used room service twice. both time were bad experience. Red curry wasnt curry, felt like duck soaked in super rich coconutmilk. Bun bo (Hue noodle soup) and wonton soup were not nice at well. i hope with that charge from the hotel the taste should be exceptable. breakfast buffet was diversity, taste ok.

The most beautiful resort I've been to! Amazing luxurious villas with private pools, great beach. It's actually more beautiful in reality... The staff was lovely and helpful. Many attractions in the area - great amusement park, awesome safari, we also took a snorkeling boat tour that was great. A free shuttle bus takes you everywhere, which is super convenient.

In general, the food was a major disappointment. The food at the buffet restaurant was bad. Two of the restaurants were quite good (the Italian Casa Nostra and the sushi), but the food is definitely something that has to improve in such a luxurious place. It's the only major downside. Another issue is that many staff members don't speak English. However, they always find someone who does and are very eager to help.

Huge villa complex, really suitable for a family or a group, villas are spacious, same as on pictures, the private beach is clean, nice with amazing sunsets, property provides free tuk tuk inside and free shuttle busses to nearby attractions, complimentary pick up and drop off to airport, the staff was well trained and very professional. The place is perfect for quiet family vacation!

Everything was perfect, it's just a very quiet place with not many food options if you don't take full board you can take shuttle bus to go outside (Grand World) to eat.

Loved the resort, it was probably the biggest resort I have ever stayed at. Without the tuk tuk service at the resort, you have to be prepared for some pretty long walks. The rooms were just amazing and spacious , we stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment, very luxurious. The foam party at the main pool was the highlight, my son really enjoyed it

Loved everything apart from the reception we received when checking in. The staff member did not have the decency to greet us and welcome us to the hotel, instead just asking us for our passports. The other staff member at the reception handed us an information pamphlet but didn't bother mentioning what it is, rather just saying to me to read this while we wait for the check in process to be completed. We received better hospitality at the other hotels we stayed at in Vietnam and would have expected the same from these staff too. So, the first impression was not good at all compared to other Melia hotels we previously stayed at. First impressions last and this was not the best way to start by any means
