The location is just 3 minutes away from the airport by complimentary shuttle service provided about every 10 - 15 min. Staff were very kind and efficient. Facilities were very clean and functional that represented well the Holiday Inn Express brand quality. We arrived much earlier than checkin time planning to do luggage checkin only first but the front desk staff was able to find an available room for early checkin. Breakfast was great and staff there were so helpful and went beyond expectation for example peeling fruits for my daughter or looking for and getting a particular tea flavor my wife wanted and collecting finished paper plates from table in this buffet breakfast setting. We felt very much at home in Costa Rica while staying overnight here. I felt that the whole hotel operation was so efficient.

I believe the hotel did everything they can to sound-proof but you can hear planes flying above. Light sleepers will have difficulty sleeping without ear plugs. We were very tired on this last day of Costa Rica trip; so it was not a big problem.

Reliable and fast shuttle service from hotel to airport, very good breakfast, clean rooms with hairdryers, charging ports in convenient places, WiFi worked well, friendly staff (especially José). They are super reliable if you have a flight that has been delayed and need to make a last minute hotel booking (my plane arrived in Costa Rica at around 1am and the holiday inn hotel were able to accommodate me for one night at the beginning and end of my trip).

Lack of supermarkets around the hotel and the loud noise of the planes flying over the hotel at night (though this isn’t surprising given the location of the hotel and it’s purpose to cater to travellers that need to be in close proximity to the airport).

We arrived in San Jose in the evening and took the very convenient free hotel shuttle from the parking lot at the airport. The hotel is only 1 km from the airport, so it was really quick to get there. In the morning, we were able to walk next door and pick up a Hertz rental car, which worked out great. The room was big and comfortable, with a very nice breakfast included. The Wifi and TV worked fine.

The air conditioning unit made a rattling noise, so we turned it off.

Comfort of the room was great, especially coming in from the Caribbean coast. It was glorious to see tall beds with crisp white sheets and multiple pillows - things you take for granted in a hotel until you don't have them! A nice with comfy beds and solid air conditioning was exactly what we needed to reset before flying out the next day.

The bell and desk staff were just standing around and seemed utterly unconcerned as I struggled to get our luggage and all the miscellaneous bags up to our room on the unwieldy luggage trolley while my husband went to drop off the rental car, despite the fact that we were clearly having difficulties. Any offer of assistance from any part of the staff would have been really appreciated.

Near the airport, this hotel is the perfect location if you are heading out to another place in Costa Rica. They have an exceptional breakfast, which is above and beyond any Holiday Inn express I’ve ever seen. A free shuttle takes you to the airport or to one of several nearby shopping areas with restaurants. There is also a little advertised local train next to the property that will take you in to downtown San Jose during commuter hours for a few dollars.

The view of the parking lot from my hotel room wasn’t very exciting, and the air conditioning was either too cold or not cold enough. Since I wasn’t spending any time in the hotel, these things didn’t matter as much.

We needed a hotel close to the airport for our first night. The pool was very welcome, and the restaurant across the road was all we could manage as we were tired, although I understand there is a shuttle bus that goes out to other restaurants in the area. Breakfast was a good buffet selection.

I enjoyed breakfast but was a little disappointed that all of the cutlery and crockery was single use/ disposable. This was badged as eco friendly as it was all apparently compostable...

Clean and comfortable. Very convenient for the airport with a free shuttle bus. Packed breakfast provided as we checked out early before the hotel breakfast started. Swimming pool looked good but we didn't have time to use it.

We knew there was a free shuttle from the airport but would have struggled to find it had one of the local taxi people not helped. We felt a bit uncomfortable accepting their help without knowing what the expected in return. The signage at the airport could have been clearer. Check in was a bit slow and we appeared to be invisible to staff on the front desk while we were waiting.

We had a very early flight, so we did not get to enjoy breakfast.

We are in our 70s and were traveling to the States for a month and had a good deal of luggage. When we arrived, there were 2 male employees standing at the entrance conversing with each other. They paid us no mind as we unloaded all of our luggage and shuffled it inside to the check-in. My husband asked if they worked there. They replied yes; he asked them how they knew that- because they were wearing hotel uniforms? They did not get the point.

Clean comfortable rooms, double glazed and very quiet. Friendly, helpful staff. A range of eating options close by for lunch and dinner. Prompt and reliable airport shuttle.

Breakfast was just adequate. Pool area was very nice, but it needs a lot more shade. This could easily have been provided with a few umbrellas. Very pricey for a Holiday Inn Express, but all of the nearby airport hotels were a similar price.

Clean and comfortable. Everything you would expect from a holiday inn. Location was very handy as close to the airport although the planes do wake you up at 5am as they are obviously very close by. Excellent shuttle service from the airport which you don't need to book in advance. Air conditioning unit in the bedroom was very noisy which was a shame but other than that the room was very nice.
