We really loved our stay at Hotel Bicaj in Shköder. It's a really nice place in a quiet area of Shköder. It doesn't feel like you are close to the city center, but you can reach that with a 10-minutes walk. People are very friendly and - if you want - they will help you with the reservations for your travel to Valbonë - Theth. We made the arrangements ourselves but the receptionist of Hotel Bicaj made it possible that we could be picked up in front of the Hotel instead of walking to Rozafa Hotel. You can take drinks for free, really nice! The breakfeast is divers and really good! The room exceeded our expectations, clean and big.

On booking.com the Hotel mentioned that they have some bikes that you can rent, that wasn't the case. But, they gave us good advice for a bike shop close by. It's a pity that Hotel Bicaj doesn't offer diner (we thought so because on the website was mentioned "restaurant").

The staff was amazing kind, they even prepared us a breakfast to go since we went hiking really early in the morning. The wifi was working properly. The breakfast was prepared at the moment, with fresh vegetables, omelette, marmalade and bread. A special note for the coffe espresso and cappuccino: were the best we tasted in Albania! The room was clean and big, we payed in € with the card. The position was fine, just 10 min walking to the city center and with a private parking place.

sadly our room was at the ground floor so we could hear everything happening in the garden, the curtains of the room were really thin, therefore people could see us in the room all the time and the sun was waking us up already at 5.

This is the best shower in all the Balkans! It has strong water pressure, huge standing area, and a glass screen to stop the water wetting the rest of the bathroom. Book here just for that reason! On top of that they have very comfortable beds, friendly staff and a home cooked omelet every morning with coffee. It’s a slight walk down the main road out of town but I never once felt unsafe. Everyone was so friendly and greeted me on the street

Hotel located outside the center of Skodra, 15 minutes walking to the center. Staff was amazing, really. They advised us on the trip to Valbone and let useave the car for 2 days at the parking. Also coffee and water was for free. Wow! Tasty breaksfast, made for take away before the trip. Room was old fashioned but clean, fresh towels. We recommend that hotel for stay.

I liked the fact I could walk to the city centre, decent enough Internet connection, easy parking and nice staff (the cleaning ladies). Working aircon

The reviews were misleading as we couldn't walk to a place to swim. It is not the prettiest location but it did the job. The breakfast was good but I would have preferred a vegetarian option. We had to ask to get a hot drink, nice lady cooking.

Friendly staff who spoke good English and were.availbale 24 hours for check in. Rooms are spacious and extremely comfortable. We were stopping here before and after the theth to valbone Valley hike and were able to organize and be picked up at the door by the local bus transport, as well as leave some of our luggage. They made us a breakfast pack on our early departure and when staying again we had the most delicious breakfast and good coffee at their little restaurant. Good proximity to Shkoder centre too. Highly recommend!

The only thing I can think of is that the spare toilet paper was hard to find and on our second night it was a little noisy as our room was next to the carpark.

The 2 desk guys are always super friendly and ready to have a chat or a laugh, check in takes 20 seconds. Parking is directly in front and off the street. Rooms are very big and all have a balcony big enough for 10 or more people. You can sit out and have a beer no issue, or hang clothes easily. Bedding is clean, room in general is clean. Breakfast is great (not buffet) but not if you are vegan, although vegetarians can ask for no ham onelete. Over all for 24 bucks a night it is much better value than staying at a hostel. Is an old place yes, but value.

Bathrooms need updating :no shower curtains, rotting wood shower furnishings.

The staff was super nice, they helped us with everything, including our transport to valbone. They gave us recommendations for places to go eat, it was delicious! The room was everything you need, very clean and shower was nice.

Perhaps that it is a little far our of the city center and bus station.

Extremely kind and friendly host. Excellent and plentiful breakfast, very clean and tidy and great value for money. Biker friendly. Certainly to recommanded to motorcyclists and other guests. Oko

- the staff was very friendly - room was clean - they pack breakfast when you leave early - you can borrow bikes for free - you get free water - air con

- the room was perfect for us because we were there for one night but it might be a bit small for some people (that stay longer) - the air con is loud - might be too far from the center (1.something km) for some people. If you use the bikes it’s fast to get there :)
