Traditional style Albanian property that has been thoughtfully restored. Highlight is the courtyard which houses the excellent restaurant and fabulous breakfast. Waiters were all knowledgeable and made great suggestions for local food and wine. Rooms are quaint with the best showers we had on our entire Balkans trip. Parking onsite where you hand keys over on arrival. Only thing that was a slight negative (for us) was the live music at the restaurant that was right outside our window so made sleep impossible until 2230, we had young kids with us. But having the restaurant and courtyard there was such a big plus that it didn't detract from the overall stay.

Our first trip to Albania and we wanted to get as true a sense of the real Albania as possible. Tradita met this brief; it is one of a kind; very much NOT an identikit European hotel and so ranks as special. The hotel is traditionally built but provided good facilities even though everything looks very old. Of particular note is the open 'hall' restaurant and courtyard and wooden walkways to the rooms. It was like stepping back in time, with common areas full of antique items from rural Albania and a small museum with traditional costumes. A real treasure trove and unique ambiance. The big hall-like restaurant with its open fire is open to non-residents so was full most nights. The food was authentic and flavoursome, with grilled meats, veg and stews. The portions are plentiful so take care not to over-order. The bread baked on the fire was huge but delicious. Breakfast was a buffet and comprehensive; in addition to the usual breakfast items there were many local products including home-baked Albanian walnut cake, plus orange and lemon cakes; all were delicious. Hot breakfast food was served by the open fire in the dining room. The rooms were all individual with authentic materials, furnishings and rug. Our room was clean and compact but had all we needed including a very clean bathroom. Towels and linen were of high quality and much better than expected. Another unique aspect was that all the staff were wearing a form of local dress. They were all professional and efficient. With some limited English, at time they came across as a bit brusque and reserved, but always helpful. They appreciated our attempts at a few words in Albanian. At times they had a lot of people to deal with as the place was v busy with tour groups in the hotel and the restaurant. Another bonus was the location and being able to park the hire car off the busy city-centre street. There was limited space but the staff moved cars around and kept an eye on them all the time.
Nothing really - I hope it does not change as it is so different.

Hotel Tradita is an absolute gem in the heart of Albania. From the moment you walk in, you’re embraced by warmth, hospitality, and the rich spirit of Albanian tradition. The architecture is a beautiful blend of Geg and Tosk styles, with every detail carefully crafted to reflect the country’s heritage. The rooms are spotless, cozy, and decorated with authentic touches that make you feel like you’ve stepped into a traditional Albanian home – yet with all the modern comforts. The staff is incredibly kind, professional, and always ready to assist with a smile. The hotel restaurant is a highlight in itself: delicious traditional dishes made with local ingredients and timeless recipes that take you on a journey through Albanian culinary history. The atmosphere is warm, lively, and perfect for romantic dinners or gatherings with friends. If you’re looking for a place that truly captures the soul, history, and flavors of Albania, Hotel Tradita Geg & Tosk is the perfect choice. We can’t wait to return!

I had a great experience at Hotel Tradita. The traditional Albanian architecture and interior design give it a unique charm you don’t find in modern hotels. It truly feels like stepping into a piece of local history, but with all the comfort you need. The staff were friendly and helpful from the moment I arrived. The room was clean, comfortable, and nicely decorated with traditional touches. The courtyard is a relaxing place to have a coffee or just unwind. One of the highlights was the restaurant—authentic local dishes, full of flavor, and beautifully presented. Breakfast was also fresh and satisfying. Overall, Hotel Tradita offers not just a place to stay, but a real cultural experience. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Shkodër who wants something more than just a standard hotel room.

Staying at Hotel Tradita was an unforgettable experience that transported me back in time with its beautiful traditional architecture and charming atmosphere. From the moment I arrived, the warmth and hospitality of the host and all the staff made me feel truly welcome. The hotel exudes a captivating ambiance, combining history and comfort seamlessly. Our mornings began with an excellent breakfast, freshly prepared and full of flavor, served in a picturesque dining area set in a beautiful yard—perfect for a relaxing start to the day. Dining at their restaurant was equally delightful. The food was simply delicious, thoughtfully prepared, and authentically traditional. Dinner was particularly special, accompanied by beautiful music that enhanced the already enchanting atmosphere. Overall, Hotel Tradita is impressive in every aspect—from the attentive and genuinely friendly staff to the charming setting and excellent cuisine. Highly recommended for anyone looking to experience authentic Albanian hospitality and traditional charm.

A Truly Authentic Albanian Gem: Hotel Tradita, Shkodër From the moment you step through the ancient wooden doors of Hotel Tradita, you're enveloped in a sense of stepping back in time. This isn't just a hotel; it's an experience, a living museum that beautifully showcases the rich cultural heritage of Albania. The building itself exudes character, with its traditional architecture and carefully preserved details creating an atmosphere that feels genuinely authentic and utterly charming. The rooms are equally delightful, seamlessly blending traditional aesthetics with modern comfort. Expect to find handcrafted furniture, intricate textiles, and thoughtful touches that make you feel truly at home. Each room tells a story, offering a unique glimpse into Albanian craftsmanship and design. And despite the historical ambiance, you won't be missing any modern conveniences – everything is well-maintained and designed for a comfortable stay. Mornings at Hotel Tradita are a treat, thanks to the incredibly rich breakfast spread. It's a feast for the senses, featuring a delicious array of local delicacies, fresh fruits, homemade pastries, and traditional Albanian dishes. You'll find yourself lingering over your coffee, savoring the flavors and soaking in the warm atmosphere of the breakfast room. And speaking of flavors, the hotel's restaurant is an absolute must-try. It's a culinary journey through Albanian gastronomy, with each dish prepared with passion and using fresh, local ingredients. The ambiance of the restaurant is just as captivating as the hotel itself, making for a truly memorable dining experience. But what truly elevates Hotel Tradita from a lovely place to an exceptional one is the people. The staff are incredibly warm, welcoming, and genuinely passionate about sharing their culture with guests.

I had the pleasure of staying at Hotel Tradita, and it was an unforgettable experience. From the moment I arrived, I was welcomed with warm hospitality that made me feel at home. The hotel beautifully preserves tradition, with authentic décor and a cozy atmosphere that reflects the local culture. The food was simply outstanding—fresh, organic ingredients and traditional recipes that showcased the richness of the region’s cuisine. Every meal felt like a culinary journey, with flavors that were both comforting and exquisite. One of the highlights was the live music in the evenings. The talented musicians created a magical ambiance, making every night special. Whether enjoying a delicious meal or simply relaxing, the music added an extra layer of authenticity to the experience. The hotel is located in a traditional old house, previously owned by a well-known figure of Albanian Renaissance. Everything in the hotel is in line with the traditional style, from the room interior to the balconies to the restaurant. The food was also great and affordable. We also booked a table for a music night with Albanian traditional music. The hotel is only 5 minutes walk from the city center, and a few minutes driving from the ancient castle.
It is a great advantage for such a centrally located hotel to provide with free parking, but on the other hand, it can become chaotic at times due to big number of cars going in and out. Nevertheless, the staff was extremely helpful, providing great assistance and even offering to park the guest cars, so the guests would not bother.

Very traditional and unique. Beautiful, spacious, and practical courtyard with a bar for drinks and for relaxation. The restaurant within the hotel is superb, with a large period open fire to keep us warm as well as they used it to cook our delicious meals, which we can observe from our best table for 3 up on the balcony. Staff and waitress were wonderful and professional but yet very friendly.
Our room is very dark. Would prefer if just one floor with a double bed and a single bed, but instead we were given a 2 floors with 1 king or queen size bed, 1 double bed and a single bed for 2 adult and an 8 yrs old.
