This is a charming, elegant boutique hotel. The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was a buffet of yogurt, eggs, fruit, juice, pastry, ham and cheese, coffee & tea. There are many restaurants nearby- Argentinian, Chinese and sushi. Very good food. The Casa Rosada, Obelisk and Teatro Colon are within walking distance. Easy to get a taxi in the neighborhood or the hotel staff will call one to reach more distant locations such as art museums. One of the Best parts of this hotel is the staff. We arrived late and were warmly greeted by Rudolpho (Sp?). Very professional. He addressed our questions and helped us settle in. He couldn't have been more welcoming. For the rest of our stay Emiliano and occasionally Franco were at the front desk. Emiliano was terrific and very professional. He helped with every question we had from cultural inquiries and directions to phone cards. He always made us feel as though it was his pleasure to help in any way. Franco was also friendly and helpful. He gave us great suggestions for restaurants including vegetarian. I would come back to the Tanguero Hotel.

We stayed here our first night in Buenos Aires before catching a bus the next day for an estancia in Corrientes. We knew we had some time to spare after a red-eye into the country, so we took the city bus from the airport. Little did we know that it would drop us quite conveniently only a few blocks away from the hotel. We easily walked the distance, passing The Ideal Cafe, the Obelisk, and the Teatro Colon --more or less "on our way" (with a bit of looking around corners). Maybe 15-20 minute walk--and we were not rushing. The service was phenemonal. The staff was quick to offer suggestions on where to go and not go, and--other than some places were at capacity--the recommendations were solid. We navigated our first 36 hours in Buenos Aires from this location, taking the Subte to Palmero for dinner (easy commute if you are used to public) and then walking several of the neighborhoods the next day (Retiro, Puerto Madero, Centro, San Telmo). All in all, we walked about 10 miles that day, which is our favorite way to explore. However, if you don't prefer walking, there is easy subte (subway and bus) access. Uber also runs easily in the city. Also: quite possibly the best water pressure for a post-flight shower I've ever had!

I can imagine some might not enjoy the Retiro neighborhood as much as some others. This working-class area is authentic. Maybe it has seen better days, but we felt perfectly safe walking around during the day and evening. The carpets were a bit old in the hotel, but--honestly?--with all of the history of the building and the hotel? We weren't terribly bothered.

It's very centrally located, many attractions are in walking distance. Most buses stop on the road behind too. The staff is very kind and attentive. Rooms have a huge bed and the deco is very stylish. Clean (they ask you whether you wish for service every morning).

Breakfast was very disappointing. Mostly industrial products, and espresso coffee is charged extra. Very small hairdrier. I do not recommend having them organize a taxi for you as it costs much more than doing that yourself.

We like smaller "Boutique" hotels and this one was exactly that. The room was huge, lots of space to spread out the 6 pieces of luggage we needed for our 12 day cruise. The hotel is only a block off the Avenida 9 De Julio in the city center so everything we wanted to see in our 2 days was close walking distance. The staff was very friendly and helpful, giving us directions on their 3D map in the lobby and suggesting dining places and money exchange options (very necessary in Argentina in March 2024). Price was VERY good for what we booked and got (a king room). Highly recommend!

The only minor thing was the hot breakfast would be gone before we got there (ends at 10:30 am). This was really our fault b/c we were late getting going every day. The coffee was still excellent, made to order, and there were other things to eat so we didn't go hungry.

The staff were amazing, the accommodations perfect, the location was the best. Rodolfo and other staff went above and beyond. From suggesting where to have dinner (best pizza ever) to making sure we walked to an area a certain way to avoid area of less desire. Their aslttention to thoughtfulness was greatly appreciated. The included breakfast was delicious. I would definitely stay here again and will recommend it 100%

Absolutely nothing

Very nice place due to centrality, spacious and clean rooms as well as a small but fine breakfast. Moreover, the hotel is located in a calm street which provides you a peaceful sleep. You are close to many sightseeing spots and public trsnsport options. Especially noted has to be the very friendly and helpful staff. They helped us with many bookings and had great advice.

The hotel has a retro feeling without feeling outdated. The staff was super nice and helpful. Room was spacious and spotless, the breakfast was genuine and abundant. The location is convenient to walk around the business part of the city.

Given we were there on Christmas eve and Christmas day, the surrounding area was not as busy as usual and therefore a bit sketchy to walk around at night.

Clean hotel. Bed was very comfortable. Room very nice. Good breakfasts. Very conveniently located. Staff were excellent: Rodolfo and Franco were amazing at the front desk, both warm and eager to advise, help make bookings for restaurants etc. They both spoke English, which was a bonus for us. Other staff also helpful and obliging.

Air conditioner in room was loud, but this is a very minor issue compared to our great stay.

Lovely boutique hotel. The rooms were clean, quiet, comfortable and nice to look at. The whole hotel was well thought out and the decorations brought us back in time...beautiful. The staff were very helpful and answered all our many questions. The location ideal, we were able to walk to many spots.

The only thing that requires a bit of improvement would have been the breakfast. Needs a bit more choice but the coffee was good and they had some nice biscuits.

There are so many things that we liked… The rooms were very well decorated, comfortable, and clean. The breakfast may not have been huge, but it was of an excellent quality. But the best thing was probably the staff. Those working at the reception desk were so friendly and helpful, but the other staff (cleaning personnel, those who worked breakfast, etc.) were also great. The location of the hotel was also superb. It is right in the middle if everything that Buenos Aires has to offer.

Not all rooms have smart TVs (with a connection to Nexflix available), but we were told that those are being updated little by little & will eventually all have them. So really no big deal.
