A charming little hotel run by the wonderful Ian and Tatiana, perfectly located within walking distance of everything worth seeing in El Calafate’s town centre. Room: Spacious, spotless, and well-stocked, with blackout curtains—a much-appreciated feature for those of us who aren’t early risers. Breakfast: Delicious and homemade—a perfect start to the day. Wi-Fi: Fast and reliable. Parking: Ample space around the property. Despite a large event in town, we had no trouble finding a spot right next to the B&B, as it’s located on a residential street. For those seeking European standards of service and quality in Argentina, this guesthouse is an excellent choice. And last but not least—we had dinner at the property, expertly cooked by Ian, and it was absolutely outstanding! Highly recommended.

There was only one downside worth mentioning: Bathroom amenities – This is more of an Argentina-specific detail than a hotel issue, but there was no shower gel provided—only bar soap. However, shampoo and conditioner were available.

Enjoyed a delightful stay at Posada Karut Josh while visiting El Calafate. The location is perfect - on a quiet street just one block off the main Avenue, easy walking access to a nearby grocery store and several restaurants, and then just a little farther walk to all the main tourist shops. The hosts, Ian and Tatiana, are very personable and great to chat with, and the breakfast is delicious - homemade breads and yogurt, fresh cooked eggs, fruit, cereal, fresh coffee..and a relaxing dining room with a small view of the lake! The room was quite comfortable and had a water kettle. Ian provided a hairdryer as ours wouldn’t work with the Argentine electricity standard. As a bonus, there is a beautiful black kitty that brings a feeling of being at home. We loved it!

Our stay at this accommodation was absolutely delightful! First and foremost, the hosts were exceptionally friendly, helpful, and accommodating. They provided us with fantastic recommendations and tips that truly enhanced our experience. The house itself is incredibly cozy and lovely. Everything was spotless, making us feel right at home. The breakfast included in our stay was amazing—the homemade bread was simply incredible, and we loved the variety of food offered each morning. This charming accommodation is worth every penny we paid. I highly recommend it to anyone seeking a proper and relaxing retreat in El Calafate. It’s conveniently located within walking distance of downtown, yet just far enough from the main street to ensure a peaceful atmosphere.

Breakfast was good and met my expectations. Our hosts went out of there way to provide gluten free bread for breakfast and also did some washing for me.

A problem in El Calafate is the amount of roaming dogs. This didn’t worry me as I like dogs, they were well behaved towards people and were only territorial amongst themselves. The problem was barking during the night which meant the room wasn’t quiet. This wasn’t a problem that the our hosts could solve, but needs to be addressed by the town officials for the welfare of the dogs and for the enjoyment of visitors. Dogs were an issue when I visited 20+ years ago.

The breakfast was wonderful, lots of variety and we appreciated Tatiania's great cooking. Friendly and very helpful owners, Ian and Tatiana, who go out of their way to be supportive and are great in a crisis- As we found out when we had some external travel issues! The accommodation is private, but very close to the main street and some lovely little restauarants and shops. The rooms were big and airy with good ambiance. Thanks so much, we appreciated staying with you and will do so again if we have the chance.

We stayed in Karut Josh for 3 nights and felt comfortable and very much at home. The property is clean and quiet with good restaurants on the nearby main streets and within walking distance of the town center. It has a beautiful garden and views of Lake Argentina. The homemade breakfast was a delight and nutritious. Another plus is that the owner Ian is a good conversationist who loves to share his experiences and insights about Argentina's culture. We highly recommend it to anyone who plans to visit El Calafate.

From the moment we walked into the beautiful garden we knew we had made a good choice. The location was an easy short taxi ride from the bus station and walking to the shops and restaurants was closer than expected too about 10-15min. The hosts were very friendly and helpful: accommodating an early breakfast for us before our tour pickup, giving us advice for restaurants, and scheduling us a taxi based off our bus departure time (we had forgotten to request and Ian had remembered!). And laundry service for a very reasonable price. The friendliness, care, and attention to detail was greatly appreciated. Although our Spanish is not as good as we would like, the hosts spoke excellent English so the communication was very easy. The views from our room and the breakfast area were beautiful. Cash only. We paid in USD and thought the value was unbelievably good for our triple room with a beautiful garden view. We would not hesitate to recommend to other guests who prefer a peaceful, friendly stay.

Ian and Titiana who are the owners are the best! Nothing was too much trouble. They went out of their way to make us feel at home and be as comfortable as possible. The breakfast was really good from the homemade yoghurt and fresh fruit to the scrambled eggs & toast. There were also baked goods, ham, cheese and tomatoes. Ian saved us money and helped us to avoid problems and pitfalls will his wealth of knowledge and advice. I would recommend this lovely place to anyone.

Tatiana and Ian were the most wonderful hosts. They were so helpful and kind. The home cooking was lovely and there was a constant smell of baking wafting through the house! The house has a view of the lake from the dining room and was only a 5 minute walk down to the water. The main town centre was maybe 10-15 minute walk away, but I liked that as it meant that the location of the property was quieter. I really liked the personal approach that the owners had; that they stopped for chats and were happy to answer any questions or offer support. It felt like a home away from home.

The property is so nice and I felt like staying in home.Managed by young couple Mrs & Mr Ian. The room and the service were exceptional. Both of them cared much and given lot of information about the place. Ian prepared me a dinner which was very nice and good. His advice regarding extra layer of clothing really made me enjoy the glacier fully well .Otherwise I would have had tough time because it was minus 3 felt like minus 7 on that day. God Bless Them.
