The facility was very clean, I love the location next to the lake. The pool was nice especially when it's a clear day you can see the lake view. Dinner was very good for 3/4 meals I had there. The staff was nice and polite. I would stay here again the next time I come back for sure, but prob will avoid ordering steak here (more on this below).

My only 1 issue was the one dinner where I ordered a steak. I have been to Argentina 3 times, and I know they cook steak too done here for my US taste. So knowing that, I ordered the steak "muy jugoso" (rare) to compensate for it. They still ended up cooking my steak dinner so well done that the steak was basically hard and chewy like leather. I could only finish half of the steak, and left most of the food on the table, it was terrible. I mentioned this to the front desk the next morning when I checked out, they didn't say anything in response to this. All the other dinners was good. Like I mentioned, I would stay here again because it's a lovely hotel and I would eat at their restaurant again but would avoid ordering the steak.

Very nice place on the lake. Comfortable beds and pillows, great shower and bath with hot water and good pressure. Knowledgeable staff. Food was good. Massage was exceptional. Pool and jacuzzi were very nice and warm.

I have to agree with some of the other reviews that this hotel doesn’t exactly seem like a 5 star hotel. It’s lovely and I had a fantastic time, but it seems more like a very nice 4 star, in my opinion, having stayed at the Singular Patagonia and Arakur previously. All the same - I would definitely recommend this place!

One of the more modern hotels in El Calafate, have tried various in the last 10 year, location just outside of town, amazing views and quite with direct access to the boardwalk of Lake Argentino. The food in the restaurant is great and especially the outside Argentinian “asado” they have once a week in the garden is an amazing experience with typical Argentinian food!

Two things I didn’t like: 1. they make you take an extra bedroom for a 3rd child as they only allow 2 kids per room even though the youngest was 7 years old. 2. One morning at breakfast the kids didn’t finish their sandwich 🥪 and wanted to take it to the room. They made a big fuzz not allowing to take any food out of the restaurant. After paying $2,600 for 3 rooms, taking a sandwich shouldn’t be such a big deal, totally unnecessary from the waiter…

Bath tube in the bathroom, it´s not hygienic simply because it´s just so difficult to keep it clean and in good conditions of use. There was not a kit of supplies in the bathroom either, such as shower cap. Among other things, it made the hotel too expensive for the ammenities offered. Other thing is the shuttle to the centre, the last shuttle in the timetable coming back to the hotel is 7pm, so we always have to arrange our own transportation after diner (nobody has diner before 6pm).

The staff were brilliant . The reception staff on more than one occasion when out of their way to help us ,they were friendly and efficient and a credit to the hotel . Same with the bar staff and restaurant staff . And a Special mention to shuttle bus driver who waited for us after we got back from a 3 hour coach trip from el chalten . The pool is fantastic with great views of lago argentino , the man who runs the pool is also very friendly and efficient. The Rooms are spacious and comfortable and Kept very clean . Everything about this hotel exceeded my expectations, it was like a holiday from an holiday after 4 nights in Buenos Aires . But the staff made the biggest difference , they were brilliant . The guide on the coach tour to el chalten who was unconnected with the hotel told us this was “the best hotel in el calefete “ I can’t argue with that

deciided to change my review on what i didnt like , because really there was nothing i didnt like . and my comment about "american bacon" was toungue in chek , the breakfast was lovely . the hotel was brilliant

Fantastic hotel and highly recommend. Beautiful views at the rear and peaceful location slightly out of town however they run a free shuttle bus all day/night into El Calafate town. (10 mins). Highly recommend - clean/comfy bed - ALL excellent!

Breakfast choice could be improved. Issue with providing poached eggs. May have been lost in translation.

We reserved the rooms with Lake View and we were not disappointed at all as the view from our windows was spectacular. Rooms were well equipped though the wash basin was a bit small. Breakfast was excellent with wide variety of food and view of the lake.

The breakfast would be better if freshly brewed coffee was added more than just the filtered coffee as status quo. The location is a bit off from the downtown but this shouldn't be a problem if you have a car.

We really enjoyed our stay at Xelena while we were visiting El Calafate. The hotel is well maintained, very clean with great amenities and views. The rooms are sizable and beds are very comfortable. We took advantage of Xelena spa services (massage was good and very affordable) and also enjoyed their pool & sauna. Breakfast was nice too. Highly recommended.

The location is somewhat remote, but it wasn’t a problem to get taxi to El Calafate downtown and back to the hotel.

Very clean with nice facilities. Shuttle into town is helpful. Very friendly staff and good service. Comfortable bar to hang out in. Fabulous views.

Only comment… All the pillows are big and thick not very “fluffy”. Our necks got sore.

The hotel has amazing view! The rooms are spacious and confortable, very clean and the staff is very friendly. The spa is nice and clean. We had the most amazing experience staying here. Everything in the hotel is nice and is worth the price you pay, but I would say the most amazing thing is the view and the authomatic blackout courtains that allows you to wake up to that view.
