We were in Ballina for a sporting event. Close to dining and experiences. Good facilities including pool area, laundry and kitchen/lounge. Rooms super clean and comfy. Excellent customer service from front desk and housekeeping and quick responses to all queries. This is our second visit and it’s improved since last year. My feedback from our last stay was acted upon (lighting to the outdoor walkway areas leading to shared facilities). This shows the host’s ongoing commitment to an exceptional customer experience.

Would have loved a freezer compartment in my room fridge but using the shared kitchen was okay.

The Cubana is an old style 'motor inn' which has been completely made over and updated. It is spotlessly clean and, having spent a LOT of time in cheap motels while traveling for work, it is exceptional - the rooms are all newly renovated, simply but nicely; the bathrooms updated; and the beds are top notch. Staff are warm, welcoming and helpful; the coffee van first thing in the morning is fabulous - I really cannot recommend highly enough, and no, have never written a review like this before. Very impressed! Will definitely stay there again and highly recommend.

The only thing missing was a full size mirror. However, mirror in the bathroom was excellent and I really didn't miss it.

We love the decor in the rooms with colour co-ordination and Barbie theme. There is a quality in the rooms which is delightful - retro yet very modern. The sheets and towels are crispy clean as is the entire room. Bathrooms are impeccable with good water pressure. It was too cool to swim but the pool looked very inviting with a BBQ area and plenty of seating. I have stayed in the blue room and the yellow room and would not hesitate to stay again when we're passing through Ballina.

Honestly can't fault it. Comfortable, great location, great pool area , friendly/helpful staff , easy parking (covered) rooms are spacious and very clean . I'll be back for sure. Oh and let's not forget the awesome little van cafe 😋 yummmm

My one upset was the size of the coffee cup lol silly I know, I usually take my own anywhere I go. Anyway it was very small (for me) buttttt thats where that awesome cafe came in handy 😀

The Cubana has such a fun vibe on arrival, immaculately clean modernised rooms, easy undercover parking and the BEST shower pressure! Comfy bed and spacious room, I can’t say enough nice things about our stay. We booked last minute and couldn’t have been more impressed with the property. Value for money was second to none. The coffee van on the front lawn is in such a good spot as well, will definitely be stopping in next time. Staff were very friendly too!

Absolutely outstanding. I am a clean and hygiene freak and can be very picky about cleanliness. The Cubana was exceptionally clean. Spotless. So clean I could believe I was the first guest to ever stay in the room. Facilities were top notch. Great location, better value than other motels I've stayed in Ballina. The decor was amazing, creating a very positive and happy vibe!

Friendly Staff always ready to assist, nice location and very clean, nice and clean room with comfortable bed, very clean bathroom and toilets, lots of bedside power outlets, very clean microwave and fridge, good working air conditioning system, onsite parking and under-cover parking, recommend to anyone

Rates are something I believe could be revisited to make it more attractive.

I loved everything about it, the room was clean and well maintained, the staff were so nice. I would of loved to of jumped in the pool as the water was crystal clear, but it was too cold. There’s a coffee then that’s there from 6 am, also there is a big kitchen that you can use if you need it. There’s a barbecue if you want to have a barbecue. I really big lounge area. You can also use. There was everything you needed. Do you have something to eat in your room and overall I write this place a 10 out of 10

There was nothing I didn’t like

It is obviously an old motel but has been nicely updated and the room was clean. Neither the room itself or the bathroom was particularly spacious but overall good enough for a quick overnight stay.

$190 doesn’t buy much for an overnight stay. Leaving before sun-up, there was no outside lighting to see where we were going as we left the room.
