The hotel is 148 years old as of 2024 and you can absolutely feel the incredible atmosphere and sense of history while you're there. Dungog is a beautifully rural town with a small population so we were basically the only guests staying there at the time, with amazing friendly and helpful staff, they even let us check out later than 10am at no extra cost. Very calm and serene place to stay if you have to run away from life's issues for a few days and clear your head this is the perfect place for that.

The pub the hotel is apart of was a bit of a let-down, it closed before 11 but it's understandable as Dungog is a small quiet town with a small population.

The Bank Hotel Dungog was pretty well spot on for what I needed. As an 'old school' hotel, don't expect ensuites or included breakfasts. Instead you'll get a simple room, a comfortable bed and hot, hot water in the shared bathroom shower. All located in a terrific, historic country town that is only 1hr from Newcastle and 2.5hrs from Sydney.

A small desk, wifi and a larger TV would have been great - but certainly no reason for not staying here!

It was great to have breakfast available for visitors. The meal in your restaurant was good. It would have been great in your bathrooms to have had a shelf near the wash basin to put toiletry bag on and a small bench beside the shower room to put clothes on. I can appreciate that with an old building there is a lot to do, so I am putting this forward as a suggestion. I liked the pressed metal ceilings and the very functional verandah. I also liked the fact that I could charge my EV there at your premises. Thanks

The staff are friendly professional welcoming and nothing was too much trouble The team at the bar , jen upstairs looking after us made us feel cosy warm and cosssetted Just a classic country pub environment with a welcome family experience Jens room decoration upgrades are really smart and practical Maybe for big groups check out the newly reno suite of rooms in the central upstairs part, Pub balcony was just gold for breakfast and predinner drinks with panoramic views. Mollys needs to improve back of house food quality offer which should be easy. We are now Dungog and Bank hotel enthusiasts

Was just what we needed. Very clean and big rooms. Great location and wow what a gorgeous little town overall. It was a little noisy at night but we stayed in a pub so totally expected that. Still had a great night sleep. Staff were very friendly. I'd stay again for sure.

Great country pup atmosphere - publican Ewan was very friendly and accommodating. - only crit - and it’s a small one Bathroom needs somewhere to put your things and hold your towel off the floor - hooks or rails, and a shelf or something. But it was great!!

Basic accommodation that met everything we needed, easy check in and friendly staff. Very quiet and everyone was polite and chilled.

Just probably a bit more detail on what is going on in the town would help, when things are open such as the supermarket. Internet might help as well.

The Bank Hotel is a old country pub and my friend and I loved its spaciousness and historic atmosphere. The beds were comfortable, it was quiet and every facility was spotlessly clean. The staff went out of their way to meet our needs and the locals made us feel very welcome. Because we were in Dungog on a Sunday and Monday night the pub deserves extra stars for being the only place in town open that Monday night for evening meals! Next time I'd like to stay on a night when they have a live band! 😁

Nothing. While simple and 'no frills', the bank Hotel is great value for money and centrally located.

We loved the character of the hotel. Old school Aussie vibes. Upon arrival we were greeted with a genuine, warm welcome by the wee Scotsman who was running the hotel. He showed us to our rooms and a quick run down. Our room was adequate and clean. The verandah upstairs a winner for us. We enjoyed taking our self service complimentary breakfast on the old verandah soaking up the morning sun.

Long walk to the loo at 2am.

Beautifully renovated property, wonderful food and cold beverages. Continential breakfast every morning. Exceptionally clean rooms and very friendly staff.

Lots of stairs for older person.
