My family and I took a vacation to Hunter Valley and the hotel was beautiful with a very Victorian vibe. Our room was enough for all of us and was very clean. While we didn’t have enough time to explore all what the hotel had to offer there is a pool, gym and ballroom!

We decided to have breakfast on our 2nd day and I have to say for the price the breakfast was not the best. Nothing was exceptionally bad it was mediocre but the price for hot food seemed a bit much but that’s to be expected for such a hotel. I would recommend eating out and exploring the city as the restaurants we ate at were phenomenal so save yourself a few dollars and eat out.

The room was well appointed and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom had been renovated and was clean. There was a lift to the first floor which was greatly appreciated as we had heavy luggage. The grounds were well kept and the pool and surrounding area were very inviting. The historic building was pleasantly and sympathetically furnished and decorated.

Unfortunately the walls were a little thin and the sound of the next room's children and shower were occasionally audible. There was plenty of parking available on site however none of it was under cover.

Always check for the best prices in the area when travelling for work. Monte Pio was the best at the time. All was good

Draft around the door. Being on the ground floor with a lovely view to the pool (too cool to swim of course) with an outside door it was quite cold with the draft coming in around the door. Sitting at the table doing my end of workday paperwork I could feel a cold breeze. Maybe could be weather sealed around the door. Aircon of course but you never run it when sleeping as it dries you out and noisy.

This old historical building has been brought to life now making it a comfortable and welcoming place to stay . The room was very welcoming and comfortable and was a very good size . Reception staff was very friendly . The room was warm and the toilet and shower facilities were great as well .

There wasn’t really anything not to like . The only thing I can fault is that the bedside tables and desk showed up with a lot of dust but being black it is bound to show more dust than usual

For a repurposed (Catholic) property, Monte Pio is a unique and pleasant place to stay just outside the main town area.

A repurposed property like Monte Pio will always have challenges for maintenance under heritage orders but does not subtract from the quiet location despite being right on the New England Highway north of busy Maitland town centre and well above the flood zone.

Monte Pio is a great place to stay. Grand & comfortable. The restaurant & bar are excellent. My compliments to the Chef yet again. Yum !

I really like having the opportunity to stay at Monte Pio from time to time. There is nothing to mention in the what didn't you like square. Great Aye : )

This establishment was an old Monastery (i think) It had a lovely old charm about it. Don't expect a modern room. The shower was hot, it was very clean and the staff were extremely helpful. Dinner was soooo good

Whilst the dinner was extremely good and the staff fantastic(especially the head staff member (manager) the breakfast was ok . not worth the $

I liked the charm of the renovated historic building. It had easy access & plenty of parking. We never got a chance to have dinner there but the breakfast was nicely prepared and the service was second to none.

Not much not to like. I probably wasn't made aware of all the facilities on the property but it wasn't so important to us for this short stay.

the food was a bit expensive but it was really good!

the walls either side of our room was very thin. we could hear conversations (one side was talking about pokemon and the other side were talking about what they were going to do the next day, laughing, coughing), every time they flushed the toilet and showered, we could hear it all.

The size of the room and bathroom and the historical features of the property. The bed and pillows were most comfy and it was very quiet so we had an excellent sleep.

There was an adjoining door in our room to the room next door and we could hear the guests talking. The curtains were very stained and falling off the tracks. Also, the air conditioner was so loud we couldn’t use it. There was also no toilet lid which was odd so flushing was very noisy and could be heard outside the bathroom.
