We just had the most amazing 5-night stay at South Coast Retreat over the holiday period! Check-in was seamless, and we stayed in one of the glamping tents, which was spotless, thoughtfully designed, and incredibly cozy. The bed was huge and ridiculously comfortable—perfect after a day of exploring. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, with friendly guests and a dog-friendly vibe that made it ideal for our little pup. This gem is a perfect retreat, and we’re already planning our next visit! Highly recommend!

I have stayed here too many times to count over the last 30ish years. Everything is super clean and everything that you might need provided. Access to a fabulous walking track, friendly locals and good food options locally..

Unfortunately we were unable to use the gorgeous BBQ facilities at any mealtime over 3 days as a large group spread between most of the accommodation had set it up as a personal kitchen. Sleep was also interrupted on the Saturday night due to dogs barking in cabins on both sides of us. These are no fault of the property and does not impact our rating

Everything - The accommodation was cosy and clean and exceeded my expectations! They had thought of everything including, including salt! Also impressive was the booklet outlining instructions for all appliances , things to do in the local areas, and I particularly liked the information on the indigenous land owners and history! Position is beautiful, by the water, and caretakers were super kind and helpful!

Great location right on the water and park reserve with playground across the street and jetty’s for fishing. Lovely cafe next door for breakfast and lunch at Pelican Rocks Cafe. Lovely BBQ area and grassy open spaces for the dogs and kids to run around on outside the cabins. Multiple fire pits around the property are a great idea. A great location all round, especially for dog owners and great for kids too.

The double/single bunk bed in the second bedroom is really not suitable for adults. It was quite uncomfortable to sleep on for my adult kids.

This is the cleanest cabin we have ever been! The entire place was spotless. The kitchen has everything we need. The beds are comfy with clean sheets. We booked the riverfront cabin, and the view is amazing - we had the sunrise just outside our window! Also, the bonus is that it is pet friendly.. thanks for having us, South Coast, we will definitely be back!

The safari tents are perfectly equipped with everything you need to make the whole glamping experience that little bit more comfortable! I was blown away upon arrival definitely exceeded my expectations given the price is so cheap! The location is great if you’re looking for a quiet getaway, the retreat itself was clean, well maintained and well equipped to be self contained, relaxing on the deck soaking in the nature surroundings is also another favourite part, we loved it so much we extended our stay, being able to cook, shower and use a toilet in the safari tent is the biggest bonus. Will definitely be back. Vicki was amazing in accomodating for us.

Clean, modern cabin. everything we needed for a comfortable stay.

Some of the maintenance needed work, such as sliding door was heavy and hard to open, possibly the rollers broken. Shower screen wouldn’t close unless you really pushed hard on it. Shower head leaked, spurting water out the sides.

Great location, and we’ll set out cabin. The cabin was very clean and everything worked as it should. Small feedback would be to wd40 the front sliding fly screen door as it squeaked when opening and closing. Stay for four night and was very happy with our stay. Will likely be re-booking into the future.

The tent was so spacious and well equipped, my family and friends who were tortured by setting up/packing away tents before were so impressed by the whole experience, the attached bathroom offered nice hot showers and the front decking allowed us to enjoy dinner and fun. The kids loved the short distance to the jetty and the playground. My partner asked me why I didn’t book this site before. Will definitely come back in summer time.

Amazing location with sea views and puppy friendly! I've been meaning to stay at South Coast Retreat for years, and now that I've been, I don't know what took me so long! It's so hard to find good, clean and suitable accommodation with my service dog, even despite the fact that she is meant to be allowed to come anywhere with me. I have a disability and this place was perfect for some relaxing and respite before i start work again after a long hiatus due to my health condition. The staff were very helpful and friendly too. The little cabin we stayed in was small, but perfect for our needs. Very clean, all tiled for easy cleaning from doggy hair and trips to the beach. It had a really cute little enclosed balcony with a gate and lock to keep your pup safe and secure. Will definitely be back with friends! They also have a really cool "glamping" section of the retreat, and I checked out the facilities during my stay. It's perfect for larger families, groups of friends etc. The retreat has communal fire pits with log seats, ping pong tables, communal library to swap, borrow or take books with you, games to use during your stay, free laundry room with washer and dryer and well appointed first aid cupboard for any mishaps. The property is right on the water, so if yiu stay in the cabins on the water side you have a view od the sea. Huge grassed park area only metres from your doorstep with lots of space for puppies and kids to play. An amazing playground and then of course the sea which is just a few steps further. It's calm waters, so good for your pup to have a little splash about. There are cute eateries, great fish and chips and a local IGA in close proximity. Couldn't ask for more!

My cabin was slightly smaller than I pictured, but no biggie. It was just right for me and my service puppa.
