I was glad that my private room was on the ground level so I didn’t have to cart my luggage upstairs. The breakfast that was included in the price was surprisingly good; Fruits, cereals, sourdough bread, croissants, cheese, ham, tomato, variety of milks, including oat and almond ones and also juice

That there were no bathrooms or toilets on the ground level where my room was. The room was very cold without a heater, but the extra blanket did keep me warm once I was in bed. Just be aware that you did earn a free drink from the bar if you left a review for the hostel, so that tends to influence how the review is written

Really well run for a hostel - great policies and organization to ensure everyone has fun but keep out the bad actors. Breakfast is very generous and enjoyed using the free surfboard and snorkel. Common areas were usually very clean. Location is ideal to enjoy Manly. Staff were efficient and onto it.

Our private room was on the second floor right next to the bar which is open til 11 and it is LOUD; if you want a quieter room request the 1st floor. You also have to go to a further bathroom between 11 PM and 5 AM since the common area is locked at those times (but there are no bathrooms on the first floor).

Really nice staff, nice rooms, good kitchen, great breakfast and social spaces. I met some lovely people here and it’s in a great location, deffo go for a few days

The rooms get so hot, the little fans do nothing. My dorm was on the top floor and the toilets were only on the middle floor which is a little annoying. Not enough showers, people were queuing at peak times Lots of people here are long termers (ie stayed for months and have jobs) and that I think makes them less willing to be friendly, I found that a bit hard in my dorm

Everything is brand new and beautifully done. It doesn’t feel overcrowded in the common areas. You can either benefit a chill/nap time in the movie room or a social and comfy time in the living room which has a lot of corners to chat or rest. The hostel propose a lot of activities and equipment for free to not miss anything of your stay in Manly (bikes, snorkeling gear, wetsuit and surf board, yoga class) and a marvelous breakfast to start your day properly. Moreover the staff is really nice and friendly. One of the best hostel I have done until now.

If you are in a three bedroom you might end up in the bed without curtains but the place was still really comfortable even with that.

Regular beach hostel, suitable for young travellers wanting to meet new people. Very close to the beach, the whole town is really nice, I liked it. Also it's just half an hour by ferry from the center of Sydney. The breakfast was good, it's nice that it's free. It seemed very social, staff was nice and helpful. Despite the social events, noise went significantly down after 11 pm, so you could sleep pretty well. Many surfers and beach-goers there.

I've certainly seen cleaner places. It wasn't bad per se, the bed was clean and bathroom wasn't truly dirty, but the cleaning could be deeper (like the lockers were quite dirty from the side that goes beneath the bed) and the bathrooms could be cleaned more often (they were nice in the morning, but evening was kinda ew - water and sand everywhere). Also comfort wasn't very high - you couldn't even sit upright on the top bed and there was no shelf for stuff. But hey, not bad for the price.

Super friendly and accommodating. Love the fact you can use bikes, snorkelling gear etc.

Bathrooms need much more daily cleaning, put some rubberized mats outside of showers so you don’t stand in a puddle after exiting the shower.

Great location honestly, probably the main bonus. The rooms were clean (if we are to ignore the guest mess), same for bathrooms and kitchen. It is quite noisy though (but only until 10-11pm) as mosts guests seem to be below 25, but overall I've had no issues.

Air quality in the ground floor shared rooms could be better, the window placement is odd so the circulation isnt great even with the fan as no fresh air is coming in - upstairs is better. Maybe the crowd was bit too young for my liking but it's not the fault of the hostel.

Best hostel that you can book in Sydney/Manly. I stayed here over 5 months during my WHV and can recommend anyone that searching for a clean, tidy and groomed place with professional staff that doing his work always good. I experienced many hostels that are run down with lazy and unprofessional staff and this hostel is the best well organized hostel that I stayed so far. + free bikes for one hour to rent + free huge breakfast +groomed mattresses, pillows and sheets + some rooms have a balcony + huge movie room - only downside: the rooms don’t have an AC.

Just one thing - the noise. It should be a rule : quite after 10 or 11 pm (better 10), and it should be restricted 🚫 because I was always tired by asking neighbors to shut up. Should be regulated and monitored by the property, so it told be suitable and comfortable for everyone 🫶

Clean room / facilities, very central location, helpful staff. Didn't get a chance to try the breakfast each day, but they do have it and other great activities / happy hour with a bar on site. Overall would recommend a stay here, had a great time.

The facilities / showers / kitchen are on the first floor away from your rooms, which is a bit harder if you have mobility / access issues as there's only stairs and no lift.
