The location is unbeatable, the manager is helpful after you actually check in, the rooms are good, shared bathrooms and kitchen are fine too.

Communication prior to arrival is NON EXISTENT. Tried: chat on booking, email, contact form on their website, contact form in the Duve app they use - no response whatsoever. When you arrive, there is a phone number on the door for you to call to check in - I did and it said the number is blocked. The only way that worked was the phone number listed here on booking.com. They require photos of your ID and both sides of your credit card. Upon arrival, the manager again takes photos of your ID on his phone. All of this is extremely unsafe and asking for identity theft (intentional or unintentional - his phone is not a secure device that should store IDs of guests!!!)

My friend and I were swimming the Cole Classic and this proved the ideal place to stay The night before. Simple but comfortable with very good communal spaces and an excellent location. Best of all, our host Diana allowed us to come back for a shower after the swim and to collect our things. Much appreciated!

Our room on the third floor was a bit warm at night although the big ceiling fan helped a lot and we had a good night's sleep. For those with mobility issues, there are a lot of stairs.

I enjoyed the fact Manly beach Corso town centre and ferry terminal is close and easy to travel round The Sandy Bottom guest House. Brilliantly located! I enjoyed the cleanliness of the property. Andy the manager for guest house was very approachable and helpful with advice and tips on locations round Manly,top bloke. Keep up the good work Andy!

I think sometimes not having a toilet and shower in my room. I completely understood the terms and conditions of the room I was staying in. In reality it wasn't much of a problem for me. Fully recommend The Sandy Bottom guest House.

Close proximity to the beach and broad walk. The main shopping precinct is only 10 minutes away, and the ferry terminal is 15 minutes. The ceiling fans were a welcome addition. The manager is a decent bloke and very approachable.

This is definitely budget accommodation, so l knew to expect nothing fancy. Simple improvements could include hooks on the walls or behind the doors to hang clothes. Servicing the bathrooms & toilets twice a day in the morning and afternoon as opposed to once a day would make the batroom experience much better and give an opportunity to top up the toilet paper.

Location was excellent, the building was spotlessly clean and Andrew the host was so accomodating, many other accomodation providers could learn a thing or two about customer service from Andrew!

The only thing that took a little getting used to was the traffic noise. We live in the country side and haven no traffic, but Sydney is a 5 million person city so traffic noise is a give in.

Excellent location, charming character, quiet room, pleasant decor, kettle and fridge in the room, helpful and friendly management, daily cleaning services, well equipped kitchen with pleasant sitting area, relaxed atmosphere, nice seasonal Christmas Tree deco, close to beach, easy walking distance to mall, shops, churches, ferry and bus stops.

Bathrooms can get messy and could be cleaned more thoroughly and frequently.

For us it was a great location. It was close to the main part of Manly, but not noisy. It was also very close to the buses that we used every day to go up to different parts of the Northern Beaches coast. Also really close the beach. The host was very friendly and informative.

It was all good. We were looking for a quiet comfy bed and being able to get a good night sleep. We achieved this.

The place was cute and comfy in a perfect location (very close to the beach).The kitchen had everything you need and the bathroom facilities were also good. Host Andrew is an extremely friendly and helpful person! He helped us a lot with our travel plans and was always there when we needed something. A really great service that we’ll forever be thankful for!

Close to beach and shops. Great for solo traveller. Room was clean, bed was comfortable. Staff were good. Great price.

Didn’t like shared bathroom…toilet was filthy due to disgusting people… and noise in corridor started at 6.30am…..would also love to have had a kettle and coffee and tea facilities in room…

Very good location and easy access to beaches, restaurants, ferries, fishing spots, shops, petrol station, parking with prior booking.

Top floor heat. Recommend air conditioning specifically in top floor rooms.
