Our stay at the Sebel was a last minute booking (just before NYE -- a busy holiday time), so I was pleased to find a nice place so close to the beach. It was one block off Manly beach--and the best part of Manly beach, the southern part by the life guard HQ and paved walking path to Shelly Beach. So perfect location for a walk on the pathway to Shelly, or a bush walk up to North Head. It was also only 2-3 blocks from the main pedestrian "Corso" with shops, restaurants, and bars. We came by ferry from Sydney's Circular Quay (which provided awesome views) and only had a 10 minute walk from Manly Wharf to the Sebel. Everything about the room was fine, nice bed and other furnishings, a balcony with table and chairs. The Sebel gave us a list of restaurants providing 10% discounts for Sebel guests, and we used those.

These are minor complaints. At first, the check-in (at the separate Pepper Hotel) was sort of weird, but the woman who checked us in took us directly to the Sebel and our room herself, so no problem. Also, it seemed expensive, so I rated it average in terms of value-for-money. But maybe that was just a consequence of its excellent location and busy holiday period.

It was a great sized room in a prime location. The staff were exceptional, from the reception staff to the cleaning/maintenance workers I met in the foyer. My favourite thing was the refillable bottle, and the ability to refill with either still or sparkling water. It’s the small things that make a huge difference.

I think I got the noisiest room they have, but someone had to get it and it was my first stay here. Despite this, I will still come back providing the tariffs are on a par with the other places I usually stay in Manly. In fact, if all the prices were essentially the same, this property would be my preferred option.

Room was a good size with plenty of space and well located with a view over the pool. It was a shame there was no ocean view but nice to have regular visits from the cockatoos! Mostly quiet and peaceful

There was a strange noise throughout the night every night like taps being turned on and off. Not always enough to wake you up but a bit annoying. Lack of storage and some major space wasted where could easily have put more storage such as under the sink, in the twin bed room and in the main room under the desk. Shower overflowed initially and had to get someone to come and look at it and the wifi wasn't secure and was very intermittent.

Location, room size and staff are all wonderful.

Rooms in the South Tower are really looking old and worn, the carpet and sofa were particularly old and stained. My room wasn't serviced after my first night, which is not a big deal but it would have been nice to return to a neat space. The bed was comfortable enough but as it was comprised of two singles that were pushed together they kept rolling apart leaving a gap in the centre which was not great for sleeping. The lack of powerpoints by the bed, or places to charge your phone close by while sleeping is also a bit inconvenient. Some small upgrades would make a big difference to a stay. Having to ask for simple amenities like a shower cap and sanitary bags is also annoying. For the prices being charged, it would be nice to still receive these items to use during a visit.

Absolutely Wonderful! Amazing location. Close to the Manly ferry to Sydney, so many local restaurants and steps from the beach. Very friendly, kind and helpful reception staff. Totally surprised us with complimentary wine & chocs for our wedding anniversary. THANK YOU 🙏🏻

King comfy bed was lovely and made up for an older styled room. Yes, the walk to the entrance is strange but they are working on that, but your stay in Manly will be sooo worth it.

The Sebel on the whole met our expectations well, directly opposite the beach, had a pool. We had asked for the rooms to be close together, but were communicated well that the rooms were in different blocks. However, these blocks are not right next to each other, it was a 2 min walk to get to the other block, which when your teenage children are in different blocks was too far. Our room wasn’t cleaned on 2 occasions which although was an oversight, was not good enough.

Great location, nice big shower, nice big bed, good balcony, staff got things fixed

Digger outside our building and we couldn't get to the room easily, pain in the neck noise and orange cones, not what we paid for Outside of the Sebel Building is unpleasant - just alley and bins Have to go through the restaurant to get to reception Couldn't take my keys back when I checked out early, they said access through the back would be available before 7am AND IT WASN'T!!!!

Great location and spacious room with everything in walking distance, food, walks, beaches. Also a little pool at the back of this property lovely area and got sun during the day. Laundry room here too if you need it.

Parking is a problem in the area so make sure your car can fit under this property otherwise it's a long walk or you can't get a car park at all. As it's dual property they do have another carpark under Peppers they'll let you use.

The location was excellent. the staff were very helpful. We arrived in a taxi in the rain, but that was alleviated by two staff members rushing out to take our luggage in.

The internal landline wasn't working. A technician was sent up to service it but these things should be checked regurlarly, to avoid nasty surprises.

Wonderfully close to the beach at South Steyne. Fabulous view to the beach and soundproof sliding doors, double glazed. There was no street noise at all when the doors were shut. Cockatoos visited us every day. We were able to visit Cole’s for snacks and nice takeaway salads.

A continual, noisy hum all the time in Room 603. Made it hard to sleep at night. Couldn’t work out what it was.
