The location to the beach, village and ferry were all walkable. The Bunkhouse is an older building and partly a hostel with a garden and communal kitchen. Our private room had a high ceiling, a large window looking towards palm trees, green vegetation and the neighbours, but not intruding, lovely. The birds were singing in the morning. The room and bathroom, towels, bed, bedding were clean and comfortable. It was quiet at night. There was a super cafe near-by for breakfast and lots of activity at the beach. The Ferry to Sydney was often and a super way to enter the city!

I stayed in the 5-bed female dorm. The room was small but had an ensuite bathroom which was lovely. The hostel feels like a home and all the guests seem to know one another (a lot of long-term guests here). Amazing location! You can walk to Manly Beach in 5 min. And the bus stop is 3 min away so you can go into Manly easily and reach the ferry terminal. There are little “reading rooms” off the common area and at the end of the hallway on the 2nd floor which are perfect for reading or relaxing after a long day. The hostel is on a quiet residential street so not much car traffic / noise. The hostel staff are very welcoming and kind, which also contributes to the “homey” vibe of the place.

No AC in the room and no ceiling fan, there was one standing fan that we placed in the middle of the room & had on the highest speed, it helped cool things down at night but the room got super hot during the day. The kitchen is quite small and gets busy at peak times. There is a day care centre right next to the hostel, so lots of small children noises starting from about 7am on weekday mornings - if sleeping with the windows open, you hear alllll the chaos.

I stayed there for a week (7 nights). Nice location close to the Manly beach. Lots of restaurants and cafes in the area, decent grocery stores in the walking distance. I was staying in a twin room -- it had a small fridge that was very useful. The en-suite rooms in this hostel provide a good compromise between price and quality given that it's located in a very touristic area with expensive lodging options.

1. Kindergarten next door -- and someone there used to start a gasoline-powered lawn mower at 7am. I had no AC in the room so the window had to remain open. 2. The shower is not a shower cabin but rather a part of a bathroom. So the water from it gets all over the floor. 3. The mattress on the bed was a bit too soft -- I had some back ache because of it.

I had an absolutely wonderful stay! The room was great! Very clean, and beautifully appointed, providing a perfect retreat after a day of exploring, I had it to myself. The location was fantastic—just a short walk from the beach, which was pristine and ideal for relaxing or taking a refreshing swim. The area near the property was vibrant, with plenty of dining and shopping options. What truly stood out was the exceptional service. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, always going above and beyond to ensure that my stay was enjoyable, Thank you Mara and Fernanda. The affordability of the place was an added bonus, offering great value without compromising on comfort or quality. It's very clean! They clean the room few times a week, and you get your own sheet set, plate, cutlery, mug, and glass – so everyone has their stuff. The kitchen is well-equipped, and there's a cool lounge for movie nights and chillin'. The hostel has an outside garden - perfect for eating and enjoying the fresh air. It's super close to the beach and just about 10-15 minutes from Manly Wharf and corso – the location is spot-on! Plus, there's a bus stop (199) just minutes away. For anyone thinking about staying in Manly, this is my top choice (and I've seen a few hostels here). The family running it is super nice and always ready to help. They're keen on getting to know everyone and making a comfy vibe. They even threw a lovely Christmas dinner and gave out watermelon on hot days! The staff was super nice too!!! Highly recommended!!!

The only thing I wasn't thrilled about is the price. It's pretty high, but I guess that's the deal everywhere. At least here, you get more value for the money.

Nice neighborhood, a store and two petrol stations nearby. Walking distance from the beach and restaurants. Spacious room, AC working, the room is reasonably clean. Dishes, microwave, fridge and towels included, which was great.

Loundess. Some guests didn’t respect the quiet times at night. No soundproofing. You can hear the birds screaming in the morning and the children from the kindergarten next door. Also some quests smoke at the backyard and the smoke comes inside if the bathroom AC is on.

it’s family-owned and they really do a good job making you feel welcome! the rooms are spacious, very clean and the bathrooms are as well really good! the kitchen and the common area (including a garden) are welcoming, clean and comfortable places to spend your time. also mara took really good care of me when i had a bad sunburn and told me where to get different lotions to help it and she even asked me if i’m feeling better the next times we saw us! absolutely lovely people!! would highly recommend it!

Great location, clean common areas and room. Lovely staff and our room was very nice. Would stay again, originally booked for one week but extended to two weeks. Near the central strip of Manly and right next to a bus stop that takes you elsewhere. Thank you Manly Bunkhouse staff!

Our bed was fragile but absolutely not a deal breaker, just had to be careful.

We had a private cabin which included kettle, tea, coffee, crockery, air-conditioning, TV, lockable lockers, ensuite. Access to Bunkhouse kitchen. Very comfortable. Angus welcomed us. Very courteous and friendly. Escorted us to our cabin. Location only 15 minutes walk back to Manly Corso. Pleasant walk via beachfront or local streets. Would recommend the Manly Bunkhouse.

Everything was good. There wasn't anything we didn't like.

Location was very close to the beach (5 minutes by walk), shop and bus stop. Facilities on the room was superb (fridge, microwave oven, electric kattle, plates, bowls, …) Staff was very helpful (he gave us advices on where to eat, laundry service and help us with luggage).

I didn’t like the loud fan in the bathroom…
