Staff were friendly and very helpful. The facilities were fantastic and well maintained.

I found it strange the restaurant didn’t shut until 11pm but when we went to order dinner just after 9pm we couldn’t sit in the restaurant (had to sit on chairs and eat dinner at a coffee table to the side of the dining room) and we couldn’t order from the restaurant menu. Awkward eating at a coffee table and looking at empty tables in the restaurant. The same went for the gastro pub as it wasn’t supposed to close until late and tried ordering a bar meal at 7.30pm to be told the kitchen was closed.

Great location close to the main city attractions and excellent public transport connections. Room was big enough with comfortable beds. Fridge in the room was nice add-on for us.

Breakfast policy is rather unusual. With reservation for 2+2 (2 adults and 2 children) with breakfast included it is indeed included but only for 2. We had to pay extra for children. I would expect clear information. So either breakfast is included for all guest or it is not included at all. Partial breakfast doesn't make any sense. Swimming pool area was rather small and temperature was rather cold for this area. Saunas are getting old and I guess you can find much better ones in the area.

The concierge went above and beyond with suggestions of what to do during our stay and how to get around conveniently. We came off a cruise so arrived at the hotel prior to check in time. We were offered access to their early arrival lounge which was very spacious with bathrooms-including showers-snacks, lounging areas and wifi connections. That is service! Our room was ample and comfortable. The hotel is very well located a short walk from circular quay. The salads at the lobby restaurant were wonderful. There was a water refill station adjacent to the elevators and a welcome bottle of sparkling moscato on arrival as well as fruit flavored water and mints/Tim tams for guests to help themselves to. Thoughtful touches for guests convenience.

There’s nothing we didn’t like.

Indeed, this is an excellent location and the facility overall is beautiful. The entire experience was lovely. We stayed for a few days before heading out for a land tour/cruise through AU and NZ. The hotel is within walking distance to George St. Market, Sydney Harbor Bridge, Sydney Opera House, Royal Botanical Gardens, Hyde Park & memorial, Lord Nelson's Hotel & Brewery, The Tower Eye, mall close by, wharf's for cruise lines, and eateries, pubs, museums, etc. We got to all the locations, except for the museums. No need for transport unless you absolutely need a taxi. Hotel restaurant was fine, but limited on staffing while we were there. Guest services (impeccable staff) can exchange U.S. into AUD, but limits $100 daily, which was fine for us...they had a good exchange rate too. Concierge services are outstanding and so helpful! Top-notch prompt and courteous staff throughout our stay. It certainly was a pleasure to stay at an impeccable hotel with staff who exceed in hotel etiquette, professionalism, courtesy, and who are so pleasant to chat with! For our room, it was lovely, but the only view was the other high-risers which is normal in the Central Business District (CFB). Our friends got a higher floor and had a partial view and they had a separate bedroom and small kitchenette, which was nice.

It is a very busy, busy hotel. Spend the extra money to get a higher end room and enjoy the benefits of going to the second floor breakfast area if you qualify, which is not available to all guests. We couldn't use it as we booked a lower end room and weren't Marriott members, but our friends shared it was very nice. They use Marriott frequently so they got the perks.

Location is unbelievably good for tourism. Short stroll to everything. Amazed that there was an actual driveway in the CBD fantastic for a family driving. Makes picking up and dropping off the vehicle so easy. (The charge is steep but it is Sydney CBD.) The hotel is beautifully kept and housekeeping were very efficient and thorough. Room comfort was fabulous. Beds very comfortable.

1) Lifts were reduced making 'morning peak' unbelievably difficult. 2) Tried to get dinner in the restaurant one night at 7:45 and was told "Sorry, we've set up for breakfast". Had to go out for a burger. 3) On departure requested my car be brought out. did not have the stub but was told "that's fine, I'll let them know". This didn't happen. 15 minutes later we checked out. 10 minutes more wait. Checked with the gent fetching cars. He had not been advised. Was told "There's 2 in front of you" 20 minutes more wait. Not a great departing memory.

It was so central. I loved that it had a pool for the kids and that breakfast was included in our package each morning. This made a lot of difference to our stay.

We had difficulty with one wait staff Phoenix on two mornings. They were just rude and abrupt. On check out we were told breakfast each morning wasn’t included for our two children under 12. On check in we had confirmed this and our check in staff had written it on our notes. Each morning at breakfast we were assured that it was part of our package. This was frustrating. Our check out staff did not charge us but attempted to. Clarity on this would be great.

The position is excellent- I’m 68 and train from airport to circular quay then short walk to hotel- I could manage well I think they should brighten up the area outside the Hotel — I understand there’s building happening- but some street art with white to bring light into dark area and bright planters — give it a welcoming Sydney vibe rather than the current “ semi slum “ area !!

Outside area - see above I loved the bathroom - which had a proper rounded basin, it had a retractable wash line. It had hooks in the back of bathroom door and plenty of towel rails —- do pkease don’t refurbish in modern minimalist user unfriendly style !! The room had Sydney opera house view —- fantastic —- not decided if should have bed so I could see the view or leave it as it is 🤔🤔🤔🤔

It’s proximity to restaurants & bars. The Rocks area, obviously as Name suggests close to Circular Key! Transport links….tram, train, ferry just a short walk from the Hotel. The entrance lobby and adjoining restaurant & bar have an attractive decor. The staff were all so pleasant & attentive. Breakfast was delicious, so many choices on offer at the buffet. Our room was on the 28th floor with a view of Sydney Harbour Bridge…..amazing!! Thankyou!

The only slight downside was that our room was booked for 3 persons….& could accommodate up to 4 persons, but only 2 bathrobes & 2 pair of slippers were available.

Outstanding location! Take a Sudney Opera House view and watch amazing sunrise! Personnel was quite nice and friendly, helped with the parking. Very clean and snow white bedlinen. Good and comfortable pillows (I am very sensitive to that)!

Hotel needs reinnovation, it just smells old. I reckon its not a big investment for such a business to change dwarfy baths, tiles, carpets and curtains (I noticed some sauce marks on the curtains). Elevators, halls and pool/sauna areas are also quite old, it does not look like a 5 star hotel in the centre of Sydney any more. Please refresh;)

The staff was incredible. Attentive and courteous, they were the true stars. From anticipating my needs, to doing their best (and following through) in helping me to check into my room quickly as I had a business event to rush to, and also had my luggage already sent up. It's all the little details that mattered when the magic "just happened" which we knew was always the staff behind the brand that made it all look so easy. I especially want to thank Daniel at reception. He handled everything so professionally and promptly. All paperwork was done proficiently as he encouraged me to enjoy two complimentary drinks at the lounge while they prepared my room. After a long flight, you couldn't ask for better.

The whole building including facilities, lifts, and the room's finishing are looking quite tired. To be fair, it's maintained cleanly. Compared with others in its category, the Marriott would need to consider perhaps it's time for a change.
