Alice Lodge is a charming and well-situated place that makes a great base for exploring the area. The location is spot on—quiet enough for a good night’s rest but still conveniently close to the city center. Everything is kept tidy and well-maintained, which really adds to the comfortable atmosphere. A special shoutout to the staff—they’re genuinely easygoing, approachable, and always ready to help within their means, making the whole experience that much more enjoyable. Highly recommended!

Our room and the shared bathroom was clean and tidy. We didn't use the laundry or kitchen facilities, but from what we saw, they also looked clean and tidy. I loved the quirky little items of decoration and art work around the grounds and the kiosk is fantastic way to book in and out.

It's an old facility and could do with a little bit of maintenance and a general refresh of the back wall where the kiosk is located. Reprinting and updating the aged and peeling notifications would be a good start that costs next to nothing.

Quiet and reasonable price for your own room. Good to have my own fridge Close to the town centre. The pool and garden area were nice to relax in. Everyone is very friendly. Bathrooms were clean and there was always one available when needed.

The kitchen equipment needs updating as a lot of it was falling apart. It wasn't too clean either. The first night of my stay I was in the same room I was in in June and the socket was still falling off the wall. This is a serious health and safety issue.

Not a 'party' hostel. Just normal people looking for clean and comfortable accommodation in a decent location. Tv room has good size tv with all the main services (except Disney 😭)

Kitchen a bit short on some items so if you plan to cook it might be an issue. No complimentary coffee, sugar or salt.

I had a great stay at Alice Lodge! The place is well-maintained with clean sheets, a tidy kitchen, and spotless toilets. The atmosphere was friendly, and having a pool was a great bonus. I accidentally locked myself out, but the staff was super helpful and kind in resolving the issue. Overall, a great experience—would definitely stay again!

Nothing really every thing was not as good as i expected it to be other than the bed s most everything was outside other than the T V room

There was no one there as you check in they have this machine as a check in you print your last name than they give you a 5 digit access code you enter this number than your room key number would drop below after you pay with credit card tables to eat are out side and it gets windy and times it rains they do have a small kitchen et to cook

People were all very nice. Garden is nice. Room good.

The top bunk is always a nightmare for me and you wake the others getting down. There should be localised light at each bed with a charge point. The kitchen was ok but inadequately equiped. Needs mugs, lots. Fridge needs sorting out. Otherwise ok. Nice to have a day room.

I liked that there were enough rooms for my family. It was very comfortable and parking space was just enough for us too. It was a great place for 1 night. I would stay here again.

Everything was fine on most part. There wasn't anything I didn't like. The location was good too.

Nice spot, not too far from the centre of town. Nice cold pool, has all the needed facilities, coin laundry, kitchen, free towels etc. Nice comfy couch in the TV room

No reception staff, it was all self check in which was weird. It would be difficult if you needed help with purchasing tours etc.

Room. Very clean and comfortable. Had reverse cycle air conditioning, Cupboard and drawers, security lockers . Adequate blankets etc. Large desk/table and small fridge. Showers. Clean with fabulous hot water. Seemed to be enough facilities to cope with number of people. Did not have to wait for a shower Kitchen. Clean. Did not use cooking facilities personally but they appeared adequate. Large fridge to store food. Microwave also. Lounge. Good TV and ability to use computer or laptop. Comfortable lounge . Looks a bit tired in decor. Good place to chat with other travellers. Laundry facilities available with a clothes line available. Quirky decor outside, pool clean and plenty of space to sit at tables

Information of how to access property was a bit sketchy. Front gate confused a few people but once you got the hang of it there was no problem. Getting key also took a bit of working out. Maybe more information prior to arrival would be an advantage. No staff on to assist was a disadvantage. Not being able to speak to a person on phone also a disadvantage .
