I stayed here during a work trip and found the hotel to be very clean and well-maintained. The staff were consistently helpful and polite, which made for a pleasant experience overall. I did encounter some difficulty obtaining an invoice—which was essential for my business travel—but thankfully, the issue was eventually resolved by the management. The location is excellent, right in the heart of Darwin, making it easy to access shops, restaurants, and key points of interest. However, the amenities are quite limited. The breakfast was rather underwhelming, and the lobby is small and not particularly inviting as a place to sit or relax. There's no dedicated common area, restaurant, or bar, which might be a drawback for some travelers. That said, if you're looking for a clean, centrally located hotel that offers great value for money and friendly service, this is a solid choice—as long as you don’t mind skipping some of the extras.

Had some issues getting an invoice for my stay (important for work travel); it was eventually sorted out by management, but it took some time and follow-up. The breakfast was quite basic and not very appealing — could definitely be improved. No common space, lounge area, bar, or restaurant — which limits options for relaxing or socializing on-site.

clean, comfortable room. Excellent reception, lounge, elevator. Helpful employees.

Breakfast. It is what one expects in a very basic motel. Clean, yes. Industrial bread and cereal, basic coffee, an apple or banana, tiny plastic peel-off packages of butter, jam, peanut butter, etc. No cheese, eggs or charcuterie. Not a major issue but still a bit disappointing. A "light breakfast" indeed. I had expected better and have usually been used to better in this level of establishment. Deserves to be mentioned.

Nice big room, facing east so not too hot in afternoon. Air conditioner worked really well, also air filters in use. Very clean. Comfy bed. Reception people and breakfast staff super helpful and friendly. Laundry great. My room had a fridge and kettle but no plates or microwave. Hotel pool nicely shaded. Lots of coat hangers in the wardrobe - thank you. Quiet neighbourhood. Within 2 blocks of a bus stop and supermarket and cafe, and short walk to main Darwin shops.

The shower over the bath was a bit weird, and I do not like rain-showers. Would have preferred at least some plates, bowls, cutlery in my room so I could eat a take-away, and/or would have preferred to be able to access the breakfast room at any time for tea, coffee, or to use microwave and plates.

Location was great - everything easily accessible by foot, including the waterfront, shops, cafes, restaurants etc. Woolworths and bus stops just around the corner which was really handy. Hotel room very clean and had everything I needed for a comfortable stay. Staff friendly and efficient. The light complimentary breakfast was much appreciated and the lady in there is always super warm and friendly. Staff lovely. Pool is more of a plunge pool (looks like a swimming pool in pics) so didn't end up using it as can't use it to swim but it's a nice touch. Enjoyed watching the sunrise and sunset from balcony. Room serviced well each day. Great budget hotel.

As a woman travelling alone, I didn't always feel safe/comfortable outside of the hotel. That's no reflection of the hotel or its location, just the CBD in general. I recommend avoiding walking alone from dusk. Felt safe inside though. I had a room that was divided from another by a locked door and I could hear the other person's TV however that guest was respectful so this had no real impact on my stay but if it wasn't a respectful guest it would've impacted sleep and rest.

Breakfast was simple continental, but excellent! Room was over our expectation, it was clean and inviting !

The Room, however, was not as pleasant as it should have been, nearly full kitchen without a sink !?? We have to get the bathroom sink to have a glass of water!! There were no chair and table, we sit on the edge of bed !!?? to have a minute relax !!?? We made the point to the Manager, however, we accepted as it was!!!

I did like the location and overall experience of my stay at the hotel.

Overall, the experience was very positive. However, the breakfast offering was underwhelming and detracted from the otherwise high standard of the hotel. In today’s hospitality environment, a basic selection of cereal, toast, jam, juice, yogurt, and tea/coffee is no longer sufficient. A more varied and rotating menu that includes items such as eggs, cold meats, and other hot or savoury options would significantly enhance the guest experience.

I cannot say enough good things about my experience. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with warm smiles and exceptional service. The room was spacious, clean, and beautifully decorated, providing a comfortable and relaxing environment. The amenities were top-notch, and the hotel's location was perfect for exploring the city. Special kudos to Hana at the front desk, who went above and beyond to ensure my stay was enjoyable. Their helpfulness and friendly demeanour made the check-in process seamless and pleasant. Lastly, Belle at the hotel's restaurant provided excellent service during breakfast. Overall, my stay at Argus was fantastic, and I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area. The outstanding staff made my experience memorable, and I look forward to returning in the future.

All good !

When I’m in Darwin I’m staying here every time you know when you have a bad hotel experience and it ruins the trip don’t worry about that here, the bed my word is it comfy, pillows 1 soft 1 firm which I never got a sore neck from, they are generous with resupply your room with tea coffee and milk! it’s all clean no bugs here at all which can be a problem in Darwin, any issues or queries they resolve very quickly, it’s very secure, aircon is great and not loud, they mop the corridor daily and the cleaning product they use smells so good, the dunner is also so comfy makes you want to stay in bed that extra 30 mins, noise level is 0 because it’s not on main road and 2 mins away from the shops very peaceful the photos on the app and website is 100% accurate, the telly is one of those nifty ones that has YouTube and live tv which has all the good channels which is amazing! So if your reading this your looking at if you should stay or not and I highly recommend it will make your Darwin trip unforgettable!

Check in was quick and easy. The lift has card access for security. The room was quiet even though I was on the 1st floor facing the street, which is quiet as well. Bathroom is basic but modern styling with rain shower. Wifi worked well and the flat screen tv is a good size. A breakfast is included and was very welcome. The lady doing the cleaning was superb and I complimented her on her attention to cleanliness and preparation.

Darwin is Darwin. There are a lot of vagrant indigenous people and I saw one outside the hotel both days I was there. Non aggressive so OK. Further up the street, a street argument between indigenous people was in play so I crossed the street to keep my distance. I am used to this behaviour but it does spoil the trip. Felt the cafes/ restaurants were a bit of a walk...

Staff very friendly and helpful, my Indonesian wife arrived a day before me , at night they gave her something to eat and a loan of a phone charger so she did not have to leave the hotel alone .I loved the studio apartments clean comfortable felt right at home .I highly recommend

Included breakfast, but very very basic just bread , a couple of pastries and cereal .I just thought it would not hurt to at least have some scrambled eggs cooked in a warmer for people to help themselves too , But the rest of the experience made up for it , I will definitely be back
