Only a few minutes out of Montville, but you feel like you are far, far away from the rest of the world. It's beautiful and so peaceful, and I felt like I could stay there forever. The view of the mini- lake, complete with lily pads and frogs, from the bedroom and living room was wonderful. Absolutely recommend 100% if you are looking for an escape. I think it's particularly suited to romantic escapes! The owner/ managers take excellent care of you without being even slightly intrusive. Hot, fresh baked croissants hung quietly and unobtrusively on your door every morning for breakfast! So many thoughtful little touches in the cottage, including a freshly laid fire ready to light! And you don't even notice other guests! I particularly loved how many birds were on the property, whipbirds, kookaburras, currawongs, butcher birds, frogmouths (I saw 4!) Yellow tailed black cockatoos, sulfer crested cockatoos, pale headed rosella, ibis, doves, ducks to name a few... It's perfectly located to explore the sunshine coast hinterland, but if you were so inclined you could never leave the property for your whole stay! Just a note for anyone trying to work on holiday, there's no wifi and certain mobile sim cards will drop in and out of service, just as they do in the whole hinterland area. I'm not putting this in the category of things I disliked because it was not important to me.

Upon arrival, we were greeted by Michael with a very pleasant smile. He is a very knowledgeable person. We stayed in the Rosegum cabin. The room is very spacious with a breadth taking view and an aircon to keep us warm/cold. We were offered hot Croissants for breakfast which were delicious. The cabin had a full size kitchen with electric stove. They also provided a loaf of bread, some cereals, milk, coffee, tea, sugar, some spreads, cheese platter and few more. It was great to wake up listening to the sound of birds. The Kookaburras often visited us while we were having breakfast on the deck. The hall had a fire place with plenty of wood to keep us warm during the cold winter days.

The only down side was the bed. It's a uniquely styled bed where it hangs from the ceiling with the help of chains. It was a bit of a struggle to get on the bed as we are roughly 160 centimetres and we need the help of a chair to get on to the bed. It can be a bit uncomfortable for short people or for people with bad knees.

The cabin was very clean Micheal the host was great good communication loved the little extras and the food was delicious we also liked that there was no internet as we went there to reconnect with each other and with no distraction with our phones we got to do exactly that the fire place was a big hit and also the spa bath

We didn't like that it hadn't been aired out before we arrived and it smelt a little mustie there was a dead bug in the bath when we got.there the guest book some.of the comments in the book were a little disappointing to read about the rug not sure if we wanted to be on it after we read some.of the comments

We stayed at Montville Country Cabins for our anniversary weekend, and cannot recommend it enough, we felt so spoiled and looked after. The hosts are super friendly and go above and beyond, nothing is too much trouble, and a wealth of local knowledge. The accommodation itself is fantastic, cosy and comfortable. We ordered the in house dinner on our first night, and it was so delicious, highly recommend. We would have ordered in again if we didn't want to check out a local restaurant. We will be back when we can next manage a child free weekend!

We only wish we could have stayed longer. A week would be blissful.

Stayed at Hoop Pine. Had the view of the lake from the living and the room. The cabin is loft style. Complete with kitchen facilities and utensils, full size fridge, cook top, coffee, tea. We were also provided milk. Bed is suspended which we did not mind. It moves though when one person gets up or climbs up. Hot water is adequate and the water pressure is high. We were given continental breakfast upon arrival and fresh croissants each morning around 8am. The cabin does need a number of maintenance work, the retreat itself has a lot of potential. The owners just acquired the property early this year though. We walked around the lake with the retreat. Only narrow road going in and within the property so be mindful of other vehicles going in and out. There is a make shift honey store a properties away. $12 per large jar which we think is a steal considering how much they sell in the cities / other places. The property is about 8 minutes drive from the closest grocery i.e. IGA, shops and cafes in Montville. Secrets on the Lake, Baroon Dam and the walks (Narrows Lookout, Obi Obi Creek, Baroon Lookout) are about 5 minutes drive from the Property.

The location was stunning and the interior of the cottage was very clean. It was great to have breakfast supplied as well as complimentary port and chocolates and the steak in the BBQ dinner hamper was excellent. Our bed upstairs was elevated to the height of the large window so we enjoyed tea in bed watching the birds and looking at the lake and trees. We enjoyed having fires in the combustion wood heater and were lucky enough to watch a satin bower bird decorate his bower below our cottage.

Beautiful location, very private cabin overlooking the lake with daily visits from the Kookaburras and sounds of the whip birds. Despite torrential rain for 3 days, we loved sitting on the deck reading, relaxing, playing guitar and enjoying our evening meals 🥗🫖 The continental breakfast hamper, welcome cheese board, daily hot croissants and treats were a lovely touch. The hanging bed was unique and so comfortable. Great for afternoon reading with lovely views. Closeby to Kondalilla Falls and Montville for rainforest walks and lunch afterwards at the Montville Bar and Grill. Good collection of DVDs to watch in the evening. Kitchen equipped for those who enjoy cooking and eating on the deck. A great relaxing weekend getaway 🌳🦜🦆🫖✨️🌲

Just a few minor things that were addressed promptly by the owners and no big deal.

From the second we arrived, Michael and Karen were amazing, making us feel very welcome. The cottage we had was breathtaking our own little piece of paradise. Unless we walked out the front door, we didn't even know there was anyone else around. This is a must do if you are looking for a romantic weekend away. We ordered the rib eye package for dinner more than enough food for the two of us. The hardest part was guarding the meat from the cheeky family of kookaburras waiting for their opportunity Don't pass monteville country cabins up if you are looking

Absolutely everything! Michael was so welcoming and the hit croissants every morning were amazing! The spa overlooking nature was so relaxing and the BBQ packs with the hot foil wrapped potatoes was exactly what we needed for our first night. I could not rate this place highly enough and we will definitely be back!

That I had to go home back to reality!

We liked the quietness and the facilities available. We could just do our thing as it was well equipped. The property was beautiful and even though it’s a little bit older, but there was an amazing (and massive) spa bath overlooking the gardens, a large comfortable bed, and bbq on the deck. The cheese platter and continental breaky hamper with daily delivered croissants was great! We met Karen on our check in and she was absolutely lovely. We’d definitely go back :)

The cheeky kookaburras! They’ve obviously been fed in the past and have no issue getting right up to your person - and even steal snags off the bbq! The cabins themselves could use some slight modernising/ updating but there’s ultimately nothing wrong with them.
