Loved the shared dining and living area - fridge, toaster, kettle and microwave available. The single room was great with comfy bed and bathroom looks recently renovated (lovely hot rain shower). The staff were all friendly and helpful. The restaurant downstairs was popular and the bar was great to grab a drink after a day of sightseeing. Beautiful location next to the river.

The train came past a few times during the night beeping its horn which can disturb your sleep. There was a streetlight right outside my window so had to get creative to block the light.

Value for money. Simple, no fuss check-in. Room cosy, heater already on for us. Bathroom, excellent shower, had a large head, so good coverage. There is a share kitchen/lounge with microwave, large fridge, dishwasher and plenty of cutlery and crockery and teas, coffee etc. Plus TV.' There are plenty of toilets and bathrooms with toilets for the shared facility rooms. All spotless. There is an excellent, reasonably priced restaurant, which also does take away. Staff are great.

The train goes past, close by, during daylight hours, which is OK, but also around 3am. So double glazing would be good. We had earplugs

The shared kitchen/Bathroom facilities were very nice for the price. Great place to stay if you’re on a budget and want to stay in the area for more than a couple of days.

The showers needs a little shelf on the wall so you don’t have to put your stuff on the floor. A hair dryer mounted to the wall would also be a lovely touch to the bathrooms. Room service from the bistro downstairs would also be a lovely add on to the experience as the kitchen is shared and some people may feel more comfortable getting room service than using the kitchen facilities.

Liked · Location, location! Right in the middle of a friendly and interesting Tassie town: a perfect model of a country town establishment that provides drinks, meals and accommodation in an authentic old world setting, with mod cons for convenience. Own car space. Great pub food.

Disliked · Only one bedside light in a room with bed facilities for 4. This could pose an H&S issue for those wishing to access the bathroom/s in the night. It also means ‘lights out’ for everyone at the same time. (Absence of bedside lights seems to be becoming an unfortunate trend: 3 out of the 5 establishments we stayed in did not provide adequate bedside lighting and/or had ceiling light bulbs that had blown and not been replaced.)

Clean small room across from a shared bathroom that is clean with plenty of hot water and a good shower. Fresh towel provided and clean mats for guests in bathroom. Restaurant is open 7days and meals are reasonable price and of very good quality. Shared TV in common room

The only extra i would like is a facewasher with towel in room And in common room some labels on shared coffee/tea etc as they clearly have regular workers whom leave food in fridge. And I was concerned I was drinking their supplies

The whole Hotel has been beautifully refurbished Our room was very clean, bed was nice and comfortable with crisp white linen Room had lovely fireplace in wall Kept us cosy and warm, in -2 Degrees. There is a popular Restaurant downstairs.. Fortunately we had booked for dinner Guests were continually arriving, one lot left, another arrived…. Food was excellent, generous servings, and very reasonably priced All in all an extremely satisfying experience….. Will definitely frequent again!!!! A large gymnasium downstairs But we got our exercise climbing the stairs….. Loved it!!!!

Location was convenient. Room was spacious Loved the heritage features. Such a grand hotel. We were worried about staying in the pub on a Friday night, but we couldn’t hear the bar or restaurant at all from the room.

We didn’t have a problem with it, but the train went through town a few times at night which was noisy so for those who are worried about broken sleep, this may be an issue. As we stayed in the family room, a small bar fridge would have been useful but it was easy to access the communal kitchen.

When you are travelling all you need are a few things to make the stay memorable Comfy bed Clean cotton sheets Bedside table to put your glasses on Fluffy gorgeous bath towel Great shower. Deloraine hotel covered all these travel essentials perfectly The guy on the bar gets a thumbs up for his friendliness. Shared dining area fridge dishwasher etc was great too

Be really hard to find anything really.

Great location near the shops. Staff were exceptional, friendly & understood the need of cyclists (secure bike storage). Rooms & communal areas renovated in recent years. Bedroom (single) was small & basic but clean & comfy. Very good value for money & great way to support local business.

Not too much of an issue for me but note its location in a busy roundabout means it’s noisy. My window was chocked open for ventilation which means all the street noise could be heard. Also room right next to the stairs meant it was noisy as people ran up and down. Kitchen was small but sufficient, only thing lacking was a recycling bin.

Accommodated my delayed flight and subsequent later than anticipated check in. Rooms were exactly as described. Super clean and very well appointed. The shared kitchen was fabulous. The staff bought our bar meals up to the shared space, nothing was too much trouble. The hallway was a little noisy in the mornings, but nothing over the top. I’d have absolutely no hesitation in staying again.
