The location was beautiful. We were late arrivals and the host ensured that the key was accessible and the heater was on. The room itself was beautiful, homely and spacious. The bath was amazing, we started a fire and it was such a beautiful space to unwind in. The gardens around the villa are IMMACULATE. We had a chat with Max on our way out and he was super warm and a bit of a jokester. Highly recommend.

The only thing I struggled with (and this is a personal preference) was the firm bed. Might be useful to know for folks like me who have chronic health issues (bring some extra padding because the place is definitely worth the stay).

Amazing place to stay at. The villa was rustic and cozy. The open plan of villa was very spacious, the bed was comfortable. Love the window in kitchen and bathroom looking out into the bushland, seeing a kangaroo or kookaburra. Had everything you needed to make your stay enjoyable. The wood fire place made a nice touch in the evening watching the flames of the fire. The wildlife on the property was amazing - kookaburras, kangaroos, ducks and wild deers. The caretakers Cam and Deb went out of their way to make us feel at home nothing was too much for them.

Overall really enjoyed the stay, although pricey and cold weather it was a good get away. Fully stocked kitchen with firewood for the combustion heater.

Water pressure/dual shower not really operational. Tank heater not instantaneous, need to be mindful if one uses the spa then the shower. Unfortunately I think the shower area requires some minor maintenance, some light globes need to be replaced in other areas and a general clean of fittings. Hard to fault such a nice location, although if these items are ticked off it’s perfect!

Although the weather was extremely stormy with gale force winds on the particular weekend we stayed at Marwood, we had a beautiful fire to keep us warm, plenty of firewood and everything was lovely and clean. The spa bath was huge and set in an elegant decor and the whole place had a peaceful ambience. We endured an incredible storm on the saturday night and felt very safe in the villa which is solid and made of sandstone. Very cosy!! We also met Cameron who looked out for us and is a very friendly and kind person. Marwood is very peaceful and has lovely landscaped grounds. We did manage to get a climb in up the mountain before the storm hit. We chose Marwood to stay somewhere quiet and peaceful with lots of outdoor scenic walks and we were very happy with our short holiday..

Nothing, it was a great experience.

Everything we needed was in the villa, even provided complimentary bread for breakfast and sparkling wine. Place was quite clean and well-stocked. Great vibe!

Maybe the pillows were a bit too hard? But that wasn’t a major issue as I had brought my own pillows with me. Also the surround sound/dvd player did not work very well so we had to rely on what was on the tv, which did not provide most channels (not a dealbreaker though).

We loved how friendly come and Deb were. They took us on a tour of the new Rose Garden, and showed us around the property. They’re very generous with their time. They were very easy to talk to, and took great care of us. They even gave us some extra firewood after hearing that we would spend the day reading by the fire.

Nothing that we didn't like, it was brilliant.

The villas are very tuscan, they are gorgeous. We stayed in villa 1. Very spacious, the amenity inside is exceptional. Local wildlife right outside the large windows, a great fireplace well stocked with firewood. The cereal and fresh bread on arrival was a bonus. Staff were very friendly and knowledgeable about the local surroundings.

Very comfortable villa, tasteful decor. Bed was huge & oh so comfortable. Toiletries supplied for the spa , very relaxing. Kitchen facilities are great, stay in & cook your own meals or eat out at a variety of eateries in town. The surrounding grounds are well kept by Cam with wildlife in abundance at your doorstep.

No complaints other than I couldn’t stay longer.

With your own secluded villa located in a botanical garden, this location has to be rated 'magical'. It is very private, We were greeted on arrival with the scents of multiple boronias. Walking in the large grounds surrounded by native forest, we discovered numerous plantings of azaleas, rhododendrons, camelias and exotic natives; they were simply amazing. But the villa was equally special. Comprehensively equipped, the villa was tastefully furnished. The log fire and spa bath added a great touch to a very special place. It was our first visit to Halls Gap - if we ever return it would definitely include a stay at the Marwood Villas.

This was our 2nd time staying at Marwood and it was beautiful!! The owners were very welcoming and got to see the peacocks. Lovely gardens and the bed was comfortable, spa amazing and the fireplace just superb. We will again be back for our 4 yr anniversary next year. 1 night isn’t long enough so I think next stay will be 2 nights of pure comfort and lovely landscape to look at in a private setting.
