We did not have one of the grand rooms - but with high ceilings and a separate tiled bathroom that seemed just as large as the bedroom, there was a sense of old style grandeur. Excellent walk-in shower, nicely appointed tea/coffee making (see below), good quality toiletries. Especially appreciated the tooth-brush as one of our party had lost his.

A carpark that needed paving Small issue - but - it seems commonplace to provide a small sealed pack of milk in the bar-fridge. And they are always difficult to open - even more difficult to pour milk without spilling. But mustn't cry....!

We especially enjoyed the close proximity to the open air market and the marina! The bathroom was enormous & the manager kindly let us park our (expensive) custom folding travel bicycles in the room (bathroom). Plenty of space! The hotel is exquisite and very soundproofed! We’re definitely staying again!

Great room with balcony overlooking the ocean. Large shower room and adjacent wash basins area. The room had been recently renovated to a very high standard. Very clean and comfortable. friendly staff. The hotel had a bistro and bar, although we did not eat there.

Generally excellent, although the function space next door did seem very loud until about 9.30.

Breakfast was adequate to say the least. We had a reduced price due to the deal when staying so that made it okay. I would have been very disappointed if I had of paid full price.

Exceptionally clean, friendly staff, big, comfortable bed, luxurious bathroom, splendid view from our balcony apartment and tasty prompt room service. Courteous staff who couldn’t do enough for you. Five star

The location and view was fabulous. The renovated hotel was superb, our room was spacious and spotless. The staff are amazing, nothing is too much trouble. We cannot wait to return!

Food, amenities and staff were excellent.

The hotel has live music every Friday evening. Our room was above the bar area and everything reverberated with the bass from the band. Music stopped about 1030 so was not too late.

Beautifully renovated- stylish and new, but in keeping with the hotel’s history. Staff were exceptional and very helpful. Food was wonderful and again, staff were excellent. An amazing experience.

It would have been nice to have breakfast, but not a pry as there were a few excellent options near by.
