The hotel itself is pure historic charm. We loved our large room and the unique decorating. You truly had the sense of going back in time to an old inn. Breakfast the next morning was wonderful, although we missed the option for eggs and sausage, the basic breakfast was delicious, along with French press coffee. The location was nice because it was a bit away from town, but we walked to the Freo market, which took about 2 minutes. That night we took an Uber to a restaurant on the beach.

The bathroom was not connected to our room. This could have been a drawback if other guests were on the second floor with us, but we were the only ones. IDK if that was intentional but we were glad Susie told me no other guests would be upstairs. The bathroom was quite large and was wonderfully clean and other than having to walk down the hall to it to use it in the middle of the night, it wasn't a problem.

Very Quirky, Eccentric, Great facilities and a wide and very eclectic mix of reproduction furniture, artworks and modern pieces throughout. I loved the history of the place and could happily of read some of the history books in the room if I had more time. Parking available, short walk to Fremantle Central (Steep hill though)

Breakfast time a bit regimented ,not ideal for holiday mode probably, be annoying for longer stay. I booked through booking.com and missed the small print, Cooked breakfast is additional charge, included if booking direct. Didn't affect us, but note - Building Not suitable for people with mobility issues. I would be a little concerned children could damage some expensive items ,bring your Cheque book :)

This is a rare gem! I need to book another stay just so I can take in all of the amazing artwork in this place!! Our room had the most comfortable bed and the complimentary snacks were a lifesaver after the rush to get there and to our event. The decor is beautiful and the room has everything we could need. Breakfast was superb! I didn’t need the hot breakfast as there was so much variety with the continental. I can’t recommend this property highly enough. Just perfect. And thank you David for our impromptu tour on arrival, that was an added bonus and very appreciated, the history is fascinating. Lovely hosts and friendly staff.

I loved absolutely everything about my stay here. The hosts that greeted us were so welcoming and friendly. The generous continental breakfast included and optional cooked breakfast at a very reasonable price were lovely touches (although we slept in, so missed out this time). The amenities within the room were bountiful. The bed was so perfectly comfortable, and the space was set up with all the furnishings and features one would need. The aesthetic of this heritage building is stunning, everything from the fencing surrounding the entrance, the sculptures and gardens in the front, to the unique decor everywhere within the building and rooms made it one of the most enjoyable stays I've ever had in Fremantle. I can't wait to come back again.

The staff were fabulous, our room was comfortable.The building itself was very interesting and quirky. We enjoyed the breakfast, very well presented and the coffee was amazing.

Unfortunately, the room had a very musty ,mouldy smell about it.We found it quite overwhelming. There was a lot of black mould in the bathroom, but I feel like the whole room was an issue. The style of the outside was quite abstract but probably could have done with a bit of a tidy to really show it off properly.

It was quirky just as we expected it to be. The art work and sculptures are so interesting. Every day you see something that you missed. We loved that it dated back to 1892. The continental breakfast was very good with an amazing choice of fresh and dried fruits. The bed was extremely comfortable. We thought the bathroom in the corner of the room was like going into a confession box which made us laugh. The room had every you would need. Well positioned for visiting Freemantle tourist sights. We would highly recommend this B and B if you want something that’s a bit different.

Fothergills is a gem! This well maintained, historic residence, is delightful accommodation. I was warmly welcomed by the friendly host and taken on a tour of sorts of the pleasant outside area. The many sculptures and wonderful modern artworks about the place, add a subtle quirkiness . The bed was comfortable and the room stylishly furnished. One could not want for more. The continental breakfast was superb, fresh fruits, cereals, breads. Enough choice to suit all tastes. The croissants delivered from Paris to table were an unexpected treat! I recommend Fothergills of Fremantle for a welcoming and comfortable stay.

Everything was as the Brochure stated. A touch of life in the past with a Splendid atmosphere. The location was perfect, with only short walks to Restaurants & shops. Jasmine & Lyla were perfect Breakfast girls & nothing was too much bother. Perfect in every way

The late check-in was a little confusing to our tired brains after a long Trip but we got through it.

A grand old home within easy walking distance of the Fremantle restaurant zone. The house was full of antique furniture which suited my taste. The artwork and maps on the walls were excellent. Some of the artwork was quirky but brilliant. As a birder, I loved the fact that they had a resident Boobook Owl in the front yard. The included breakfast definitely gave us a great start for our day. The owners/staff were friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend this b&b.

The stairs but we knew they were there so this isn't a biggy. The restaurant area is down a fairly steep hill but great for walking off a big evening meal... and it's Fremantle, it is hilly.

Comfy bed, unique place to stay. Quiet, I had whole top floor to myself. A little further from waterfront than I thought and if ur elderly with no car, then it can be a small issue. Beautiful garden and lots of art. Lots of history. I had the English room. Breakfast good with variety and if you want a cooked breakfast then it’s only $15 extra. Great to check in at 12 noon. Got to see Bon Scott’s statue and grave close by. Fremantle goal is right there. My stay wasn’t long enough.
