The location is fabulous, in the middle of the Old town. The hotel is amazing, all rooms are spacious suites that represent old style Habsburg grandeur; you really feel you step back in time. The beds are comfortable, the walk in shower is massive too. The suite has everything you need, coffee making facilities, flat screen TV, toiletries et al. The breakfast room is tastefully decorated and inviting ; and the ladies at reception are also really welcoming and helpful. An absolute gem and a fantastic find.

I loved everything about the hotel. The only thing that one needs to remember that it’s an old hotel, the floorboards are original so it will creak a little but it adds to the charm.

We only spent one night in Graz, but this hotel made a lasting impression. It felt like stepping back in time—with its elegant interior, vintage furniture, and tasteful decorations, the atmosphere was truly magical. Our room was surprisingly large, offering plenty of space to relax and unwind, which added to the comfort of our stay. Parking was available upon request for an additional fee, which was very convenient given the central location. Speaking of which, the hotel is right in the heart of the city, with numerous restaurants and cafés just a short walk away. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a stylish and atmospheric stay in Graz.

The location is obviously perfect, right in the very heart of Graz and less than 5 minutes from the river. The hotel itself is just fabulous, immaculate throughout, combining past and present very tastefully. I was in a double room, which was large, warm and I was happy to see a kettle, teas and coffee. 4 of us really enjoyed the cocktail bar, not just because the cocktails were yummy (and potent!) but the room itself was so cool and the bar staff were friendly and helpful. This was my 4th work trip to Graz but my first time in this hotel. I will stay here in future and recommend it to colleagues.

I genuinely cannot think of a single thing! One of my colleagues had a single room, which was very small, but nothing wrong with it otherwise. Keep that in mind when booking.

Such a lovely hotel, in the best location with friendly and helpful staff. I chose it for its historic style and we were not disappointed. The room (comfort double) was about 15ft 4.5m high, the bed large and comfortable with lots of space and a mirror at the table for my girlfriend to get ready. This was missing at 2 other hotels on the trip, so well done for that... The bathroom had been updated and with a good shower (took awhile to get hot, but got there..). Would definitely stay here again. Thank you.

Only minors, really. Wooden floor needs some love. Creaks and groans when walking around the room. TV is due for an upgrade to a larger 4k screen with access to the ports. Include local taxes in the cost instead of on arrival. The breakfast area needs another coffee machine.

The Palais-Hotel is smack in the middle of all the action. Restaurants, cafes and even convenience stores are directly outside the front door. If you’re in Graz to sight-see, then we couldn’t recommend this place enough. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We were stuck without a dinner reservation, and the lady at reception pointed us straight over the road for the best Austrian dinner experience we could have asked for. We will be back.

Not much to dislike about it. Perhaps the age of the building was beginning to show. The doors creaked a lot, as did the floorboards, making it tricky to sneak in quietly at night. All that said, we found the age charming and thought it added to our experience in the old part of town.

Good location in centre of town. Walk to restaurants and local sites. Airy, light central atrium for breakfast.

Room was very dark with one chocolate brown wall and one window to rear walls. Possible window to central atrium closed off - could be reinstated, if privacy an issue, curtains, blinds or one way glass. Bathroom had no window so need light for night visit. Shower over bath had no curtain or screen so water can go on floor.

The old-world vibe and grandeur was just lovely. If people prefer the modern impersonal glass/stainless- steel style they have options elsewhere. This hotel is unique. Lots of greenery and space. So central and in a lovely area of the city.

Well, the decor/ paint work would need to be renewed.in the bedroom. The furniturel was rather drab and scuffed..not the quality in keeping with the beautiful building

The room was simple but very clean and quiet. I was impressed by the lack of noise despite the hotel’s amazing location right next to Hauptplatz. My view was amazing, I could see the famous clock tower every morning!! Most city hotels have tiny showers due to lack of space but I was pleasantly surprised by the size and water pressure. Breakfast was enjoyable and, as a Brit, I was pleased with the tea station and quality of the tea bags (European hotels often get English Breakfast wrong…) I couldn’t believe how easy it was to get the tram direct from the train station to the hotel’s doorstep. Definitely the place to stay if you are wanting to explore Graz with ease!

The floors were VERY squeaky. I was luckily on the top floor so I’m not sure how much of an issue that may be for others on lower floors. As a solo female traveller, my safety is highly important to me and I appreciate when my rooms have multiple security measures – my room only had a small push-in lock. It was perfectly effective, but a chain may have put my mind at ease more!

Situated right in the historic centre of Graz, this elegant, old building is an ideal place to stay. The plant lined atrium is impressive and the room was clean and comfortable. Staff were friendly and helpful. Really good choice for breakfast. Trams running along the street outside are free within the historic core. The main sights are within easy walking distance and there’s a great choice of restaurants nearby. The rooftop bar/cafe of the K &O store next door is worth a visit for a drink or lunch with a view.

LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION, breakfast was also very nice, the staff are polite, a bit tricky to get the car in front for the check in, but everything else was really nice. Suggest if coming by car to go directly to the designated garage and bring your luggage from there since it is very close, avoid the unnecessary issues with parking in front of the hotel in a tram operated street.
