The beds are very comfortable & the rooms have safes for storing your most important valuables, the instructions are very self explanatory. The washing facilities are very basic but are conveniently placed on the same floor as your room, the wash basins, toilets & showers are all separate to avoid any unnecessary waiting for availability, but best to get up early in the morning if you want to get first refusal, don't forget to bring your door key card as it could be problematic re-entering your dorm. The communal kitchen is a little cramped & not everyone is as consistent as the next to keeping it clean & free of mess, but the staff do their best to monitor this & will remind you to clean up after yourself, the communal lounge is both eating area for dining as well as bar at night & closes earlier than the local bars close so best to eat before you go out or eat whilst your out enjoying yourselves. The hostel is in a quiet street near the Vrudag Markt but within less than 5 minutes from Belfort & Burg, there are local shops to buy food if you wish to provide your own meals, but you cannot buy alcohol as the hostel doesn't permit consumption of beers etc other than from their bar. There is a laundry service facility provided for 10 euros & a time slot allocated, so best to enquire if you require it.

Spacious with clean bathrooms. Comfortable beds / pods in dorm room. Each pod had a light and plugs near your head. Very big dining area along with a lounge and outside terrace areas. Close to the train station, a lovely walk along a path and close to the central. Lovely staff and a well set out hostel. Would have loved to have stayed longer!

No lockers in the dorm rooms so make sure you have a lock for your bag / suitcase. Don’t think they have an age limit on guests in shared dorm rooms. We had an elderly male who breathed extremely loud (concerned for his health) and had a bad nightmare where he was screaming/moaning very loud in the middle of the night. Got no sleep after that…which of course is no fault of the hostel.

Nice location, friendly staff, comfy beds and a cozy atmosphere. There's a piano and a guitar in the lounge too which was sweet. Met some cool people and had an overall really nice stay here.

It was a little disorganised, with people getting assigned to rooms that were already fully booked and it taking a little while to get through to reception upon arrival. But the staff was always very cooperative so resolving issues was pretty easy. Oh and the showers on the third floor only run (very) cold water, apparently you gotta let the water run for 15 mins before it gets hot, but I had no success with that so I just went with it lol

This accomodation was nicer than I expected, the section I stayed in was very modern and had nice fixtures / furnishings. I was upgraded from a 10-person mixed dorm to a 4-person female only dorm which was really kind and appreciated - staff was great. Great location that’s easily accessible by foot and there’s buses close by too.

The common sitting area was dirtier than I would have liked e.g sand on the couches but this is more the guests than the hostel staff. Floor towels in the bathrooms need to be changed much more often as they were very wet from the previous person showering and the showers smelt of mould as there’s no windows or extraction fans.

There was a little bit of miscommunication. I asked about paying for breakfast and was told that it was separate but wasn't given the opportunity to pay for it. The information given about the hostel was very basic and the reception was not the place to check in. Rather, you needed to go down the hall to a closet. Then I had to wait, even though it was check in time and no one was waiting ahead of me. Also the staircase to the rooms had very torn carpeting. But besides that, the reception area and whole ground floor and grounds were very nice. My roommates were nice. I couldn't figure out how to use the safes in the room. I left my pajamas in the bathroom and am hoping to hear back as to whether I can have them shipped to my next location.

Exceptional staff+++ I've never stayed in the hostel for such a small price with the amenities that that one had : great location, super responsive (plus nice and humane) staff, great decoration (despite being a little bit shabby - but it also tells its story!), in the antique house, very close to the historical center... - Just 10 of 10 to the staff for their efforts to maintain availability of Bruges to the tourists like me! Thanks!! You are doing great!!! I wish you to have more responsible guests... but, people are just people... So, anyway, thank you for keeping doing your job at the very best level!

some neighbours from the other rooms (guys) were drunk, but, of course, it's not the responsibility of the hostel, it's just how people spend their weekends in Bruges)) I do advise to keep the room closed with the key when you enter or leave your room ) just to prevent neighbours' tries of bothering you)

Great open area with a bar and kitchen to socialise and super friendly hotel staff. The breakfast was great too. Very tidy rooms, comfortable mattresses and bathrooms were pretty much new. Hostel is in walking distance to the city center, main train station and a long term parking for under 3€/day.

Could do with a few clothes hooks in the rooms to hang jackets or towels. You‘ll order breakfast with a staff member and it comes in a box from from an adjacent hotel. This was a bit weird especially if there‘s no staff around in the morning.

The hostel was really well fitted out for such a traditional building with amazing traditional features in the communal areas and smart modern decor and finishes in the dorm. The hostel is also really well located for access to the train/bus station and the old town.

My only complaint/suggestion is that the communal fridge isn’t accessible while the kitchen/bar area is locked off. I had to check-out early in the morning at which time I wouldn’t have been able to collect my food so I had to remove it from the fridge before the kitchen closed which meant I had to worry about the food spoiling in the heat of the dorm over night. Perhaps the fridge could be located in one of the areas that is not locked over night?

Hostel Lybeer was in a great location, right in the hart of Bruge, the check in was easy and the staff very welcoming 🙏

Just be careful, there are three floors to the building, you could be on the third floor, the stairs are steep and windy. Make sure you ask a member of Staff in the morning for Breakfast, the breakfast is made to order, so if you go down in the morning there will be No sign of breakfast, However if you do ask it is available all morning, so no rush to get up 👍

I never stay in hostels but because a one night stay and high hotel rates o booked this hostel! The staff were incredibly nice especially the volunteer staff but also front desk! I booked in the new section with four bunks and it was great! Bathrooms are stone and all new! Highly recommend!

Meg tying your sheets and making your own bed could be easily done by staff and add to the positive experience! The main rec room needs an update as does the communal kitchen which I didn’t use.
