The hotel was a building from 1600 and was very charming and kept and maintained well. The room was of a good size with ensuite bath. The bed was very comfortable. And although right by the road once you closed all the doors and windows I was not disturbed by any of the outside noise. The lady at the reception (who seems to be the all rounder raking most of the task in the hotel) was very welcoming and polite and provided all the necessary information I needed during my stay. I love the location which was only 15 minutes walk from the train station and also not in a very busy road but in the proximity of all the attractions in the city of Bruge.

Not what I didn’t like but there was no lift in the building and I had to carry my luggage all the way to third floor. I understand the space and the building being from the 1600. If I pay more for the room maybe I would have got the ground floor or the first floor rooms. I would still recommend this hotel for the hospitality, vibe and the location. I did not have the breakfast so cannot comment on that.

Lovely hotel (family run, I think). Great location, easy 15 min walk from station, quiet at night, 10-15 mins to centre of Bruges. We had an amazing corner room on one of the upper floors (room 114) with a big shuttered window with views over the street and bell tower in the distance & another window with views of the nearby church - really picturesque. We didn’t have breakfast, so can’t comment, but the little dining room has a free hot drinks machine & selection of biscuits/ sweets for all guests, which was a nice touch. There’s a lovely garden area with a small aviary at the back. Lady at reception was lovely, really helpful. Highly recommend this place.

No negatives at all for me. I don’t think there’s a lift, as it’s a beautiful old building, so factor that in if any accessibility issues.

The location for exploring Bruges could not have been better. Surrounded by beautiful churches, good restaurants, and quaint shops, it was everything we'd hoped for. You can drive right up to the hotel for unloading luggage which was very convenient. Parking in the train station parking garage was cheap (€6 per 24 hour) and only a 15 minute walk. The inner courtyard was a favorite for our two families totalling 7 people. A central meeting place when we wanted to rest or regroup. The all-day coffee was also a great touch. As others have mentioned, the stairs are a bit steep and would be difficult for those who have large luggage or limited mobility, however my 70+ year old parents were able to make it up the first flight regularly with no issues. The breakfast is a bit expensive for what you get.

Hotel Het Gheestelic Hof is a lovely hotel smack bang in the heart of Bruges. We were met by pleasant English-speaking staff and had a street-view room overlooking the lovely Christmas lights. The room was spacious, clean and modern for such an old building, with a comfortable bed and generous-sized bathroom with a lovely big shower. Unfortunately we didn't try the breakfast, but there was tea/coffee/hot chocolate always on-hand downstairs. The location is perfect, with no more than a 5 minute walk from the picturesque centre of Bruges, and a 15 minute walk from the train station.

Small amount of street noise (not a big problem) and make sure you're comfortable with stairs (like most older hotels in Europe) and watch your step!

Excellent location in the heart of the city with plenty of restaurants nearby, and very friendly staff. Very handy luggage storage both before checking in and after checking out. Found the rooms to be quite spacious and well stocked (teas, coffees, hot chocolates, minibar).

Walls are quite thin (as with all of the old buildings in the city), so best to come prepared if you're a light-sleeper. Some of the steps in the passages could be more clearly marked as they are a tripping hazard.

Very friendly hotel supervisor/host. Comfy room, nice breakfast, the location is just perfect. Super clean. Some might say that a hotel is a bit worn out, but it did not feel like that. This is a historical building, and the interior is respectively stylish.

We really have nothing to complain. Yes, you could hear the street a bit, and some sounds from the neighbours and the floors are creaking, but just have a right expectation from a place like this. It is an old town hotel, and it is perfect for this case.

Lovely old house with period furnishings. The bed was modern and comfy. Bathroom recently refurbished. Free coffee and tea all day and a fresh breakfast with many choices. The staff were helpful and chatty and gave good tourist information and dining suggestions. Walking distance from the bus and rail Station We were aware there is no elevator and were glad ( again) that we travel lightly and have backpacks. All in all a great stay.

The shower / bath combo is very slippery when wet from the shower and the space available makes it quite awkward and dangerous getting out. Maybe a sticky bath mat in the bath would help.

The hotel is very cosy and well located, in a very picturesque area. It has free coffee and tea, and biscuits, a very cute garden and comfortable rooms. Good value for price and an authentic Bruges experience. You can also leave your luggage at the reception if needed. The lady there was very nice.

Just FYI, if you have large luggage, there are a lot of narrow stairs and maybe ask for a room on a lower floor as there is no elevator.

Very nice and typical hotel, located in a 17th century building in the centre of Brugge and only a few minutes from the station. Spacious and very clean room. Excellent breakfast, including sweet and savoury local products. Possibility of leaving luggage at the hotel after checking out. Very friendly and helpful staff.

Some night noises from the street during the night, but they are minimal and then you must not forget that you are right in the city centre.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. the location is excellent, just a couple of minutes walk to the town square, shops and restaurants. It’s a beautiful old building with charm however everything works well. The room I had was a good size, the bed comfortable and hot water was great and consistent.

There is some noise when cars pass on the road (cobble stones), but this drops off later at night and this is probably only the case for rooms facing the road.
