The rooms were comfortable, the breakfast was very good every morning. Very close to Copacabana beach and Ipanema.

The location is very unsafe for tourists. Keep this in mind when booking this hotel. We got robbed right in front of the hotel as the intersection its located at is a favourite hangout spot, around 5pm/6pm coming from the beach shirtless or in bathing suits - groups of young teenagers (maybe 30 total?) would run on the streets causing chaos, we didn't know the first day what was happening, one stole my brothers necklace from the back. The next day around the same time, they spotted us right away and started to run towards us - we asked a local to walk us to the door of the hotel. DONT WEAR ANY JEWELRY / WATCHES / BRAND NAMES. We were told to not go out at night, so we didnt, but this was happening in later afternoon when the sun was still out. Be extra cautious.

Had a family room and it was huge, takes up the back of the hotel, massive bed, hot shower and even had a bath for the kids! Easy 2 min walk to Copacabana beach Good and tasty breakfast. Not needed to be in room for much as so much to see in Rio and good location for exploring.

Minimal really, was a good hotel and suited our needs well Limited tv channels, Not enough towels for number of people in room.

The hotel is excellent, has a great location, the reception staff is helpful, always listening and advising, and the breakfast is good. It's not amazing, but it's pretty good for the price. The cleanliness is excellent. I think it's a hotel without many luxuries. Last time the gym was closed. I think with the gym and pool open, my rating would have gone up to a 9

The location was perfect. It was very close to tje Copacabana and Ipanema Beach. There were just everything around. Bakeries, small shops to buy drinks and food, supermarkets, banks. The room was very spacious and the bed was comfortable. Pretty calm as well. The buffet was also quite big. Especially I liked the friendly staff. They helped me in changing my room because I wanted to be placed more up and they helped me organizing my private tours. And they helped me with small things. Very, very nice and excellent service.

For my taste the coffee could be better.

This is a very well situated hotel and good value for money. I stayed at another night at a hotel on Copa beach front, and while it was excellent, I would probably stay at the Rio Design if I stayed again, better value for money. Very good breakfast. Lovely big airy bedroom, comfy bed.

Plenty of food, various options. Lots of fruit and all the usual continental breakfast.

All was good, except the wifi in my room in one of the top floors was not strong enough. However staff told me their are adding more wifi towers upstairs. Thanks

50 meters from beach; There was a lot of restaurants nearby. Good location.

There wasn’t good lunch at your own restaurant. There wasn’t dinner at your own restaurant. The towels in bathroom was oldest. I have a picture of one it. The swimming pools was out of service.

The hotel is very well located, close to the beach, there are restaurants and services nearby. It’s near a metro station. Its location is excellent.

we left early in the morning, however we asked if we can provide breakfast but we did not get service. The restaurant closes early and does not open until the next morning.

The location was perfect. It's a block away from the Copacabana beach and a few blocks from Ipanema beach. Everything to do is in walking distance. We had a water issue with our room and the staff immediately can to check it and moved us to another room (let us choose between 4 different ones) for the rest of the visit. They were amazing and helpful.

The location of the hotel was perfect. There were many convenient stores and restaurants nearby. The beach was 500 ft away and the swimming pool was very clean and quiet. The staff was very helpful in giving me the information I needed desperately for the trip.

The safe in the room wasn't working well but I brought my own secure storage so it wasn't really a problem. Overall the trip went pretty smooth! I really appreciated the cleaning staff and how well they did their job.
