The rooms were comfortable, the breakfast was very good every morning. Very close to Copacabana beach and Ipanema.

The location is very unsafe for tourists. Keep this in mind when booking this hotel. We got robbed right in front of the hotel as the intersection its located at is a favourite hangout spot, around 5pm/6pm coming from the beach shirtless or in bathing suits - groups of young teenagers (maybe 30 total?) would run on the streets causing chaos, we didn't know the first day what was happening, one stole my brothers necklace from the back. The next day around the same time, they spotted us right away and started to run towards us - we asked a local to walk us to the door of the hotel. DONT WEAR ANY JEWELRY / WATCHES / BRAND NAMES. We were told to not go out at night, so we didnt, but this was happening in later afternoon when the sun was still out. Be extra cautious.

The room was great. The breakfast, though there weren’t too many selections, was good. The location was absolutely perfect.

The issue was solved eventually but take this into account if you arrive after a long flight. At first I received a room with 2 single beds attached. I told the reception that I specifically asked for 1 large bed and eventually I received it after 30 minutes.

Had a family room and it was huge, takes up the back of the hotel, massive bed, hot shower and even had a bath for the kids! Easy 2 min walk to Copacabana beach Good and tasty breakfast. Not needed to be in room for much as so much to see in Rio and good location for exploring.

Minimal really, was a good hotel and suited our needs well Limited tv channels, Not enough towels for number of people in room.

The hotel is excellent, has a great location, the reception staff is helpful, always listening and advising, and the breakfast is good. It's not amazing, but it's pretty good for the price. The cleanliness is excellent. I think it's a hotel without many luxuries. Last time the gym was closed. I think with the gym and pool open, my rating would have gone up to a 9

This is a very well situated hotel and good value for money. I stayed at another night at a hotel on Copa beach front, and while it was excellent, I would probably stay at the Rio Design if I stayed again, better value for money. Very good breakfast. Lovely big airy bedroom, comfy bed.

The location was perfect. It was very close to tje Copacabana and Ipanema Beach. There were just everything around. Bakeries, small shops to buy drinks and food, supermarkets, banks. The room was very spacious and the bed was comfortable. Pretty calm as well. The buffet was also quite big. Especially I liked the friendly staff. They helped me in changing my room because I wanted to be placed more up and they helped me organizing my private tours. And they helped me with small things. Very, very nice and excellent service.

For my taste the coffee could be better.

Paying the storage for my lugguage when you pay already expensive nights. For a "design" hotel there is nothing related to this. A lot of noise, I can hear everything in my room especially all the doors opening and closing

Plenty of food, various options. Lots of fruit and all the usual continental breakfast.

All was good, except the wifi in my room in one of the top floors was not strong enough. However staff told me their are adding more wifi towers upstairs. Thanks

Friendly and helpful staff. I had initially booked a room with 2 single beds, but as the second person decided last min not to come anymore, they kindly put the 2 beds together, and that was much appreciated. Also great shower.

Located right near the beach. Very comfortable mattresses. Coffee shop next door was great too

Everything is a bit old, shower head not spraying properly, soap rack crooked. Staff was friendly but not very accommodating partly due to a language barrier
