A hotel where I stayed several times. Comfortable, clean and quite spacious rooms. A classic vibe. Location is excellent for the public transport traveller, on walking distance from the central station and busstation and right next to a tram stop and metro station.

Breakfast is served in the cafe next door. You have to pay for a second coffee etc which makes the breakfast a little expensive.

Our room had a great view of the Lion's bridge and Sofia (top floor), got upgraded with extra bed, was clean, and located about 20 mins walk near main sights but metro/tram/bus stop is convenient/right infront of hotel. Excellent a la carte breakfast! It was delicious and we loved the presentation!

Some of the stuff were very not friendly Really depressed no smile no hello Like if they're grieving something. I took two rooms three nights one deluxe room I didn't even ask them to clean the room and when I asked for a extra tea bags (We had 2) the guy told me something like "it's against the policy of the Hotel" But a day after it was a nice lady she was really helpful with everything and she gave us right way 6 tea bags

The hotel had everything that we needed. Clean and tidy. I particularly like the simple shower that provided a good jet of water (not like some hotel showers where all you get is a dribble). Location is good. A short walk from the centre but on the Metro line with buses and tram stops just outside also. The cafe/restaurant next door was good as was the Bridge Hotel, the otherside of the Lion Bridge. Staff were helpful especially the nice young man who made sure we got a taxi to the airport ok. There was a fridge and kettle and cups in the room. And with Lidl next door we ensured we had our early morning coffee. Definitely recommend to the budget/midrange traveller.

This is a lovely hotel with an amazing staff; they are initiative, communicative and available. Beds are comfortable, duvets are the perfect weight. The connected restaurant ( breakfast included) serves excellent coffee and locally sourced fresh food. Centrally located, The Lion is within walking of cultural activities, historic buildings, and shopping. Money exchange is easy and close. There is really nothing not to love about this beautiful hotel! Staff is the very best and went out of their way to be available; Vladimir took an afternoon off to take us personally to the Rila Monastery! Made a great trip exceptional! A wonderful experience!

There isn’t any negative about this hotel.

It is a hotel in a very good location, not far from the city centre, Vitosha Boulevard and other attractions such as the Women's Market. The rooms are spacious, there is air conditioning. Parking is possible in the adjacent streets in parking zones, munucipality Sofia has created a special application for this. The hotel has its own pleasant café with a garden on the square by the Lion's Bridge, breakfast here is served ala carte, every choice is interesting and good. For the real strongmen and for energy for the day, I recommend trying the shakshuka.

The room is quite big and everything was clean. I did have problems with my air con, but after mentioning it at the reception, it was fixed. There's an elevator, so no issues with stairs. It's about 25 minutes walk from the cathedral. The cafe downstairs is great (called 1920) and if you cross over the Lions Bridge, there's an Italian restaurant there that serves great food, but cash only. If you're a single female traveller, it's not close to the main sights if you walk home at night

As a single female traveller, I would probably prefer somewhere closer to the sights and restaurants, especially for walking home at night. No problems through the day .

The hotel is near the bus station, which in our case was great. The rooms were cosy. The girl from the reception was extremely polite and helpful. We had a bus early in the morning, and the breakfast starts at 8 o'clock, so they've prepared us food to take with us.

At night, you have a feeling that the neighbourhood isn't a safe place to walk.

The hotel is clean, nice, at a good location, near the bus station, and no so far away from the city. This was our second time here. The breakfast is great, you have a coffee bar in the hotel, where you can have lunch, or just drink coffee.

We received the message that smoking is not allowed in the rooms. However, in one of the three rooms we booked, we noticed an unpleasant smell of cigarettes. It’s clear they are working on resolving this issue.

Close to Sofia Central train and bus stations and metro stations are nearby. Have of the metro is above ground in Sofia however the engineers design it so you can not see the city as you come in from the airport. The metro from the airport is fast and very inexpensive forget taxi/bus shuttles check routes on the internet before visiting Sofia and write down the Bulgarian spelling for desired stops forget Romance spelling as Bulgaria signs mostly are in Bulgaria/Russian alphabet If possible ask information or count the desired number of stops to your desired stop.
