What a gem this hotel is! We loved the thoughtful details and cleanliness of our suite. The character of the building, the spaciousness of the suite, the decor, and colors, the bedding, the fully outifitted kitchen, the garden and decks....all of it had us very impressed. Plus the location can't be beat. We walked to the shops and had some memorable meals at the restaurants. The hot springs were a short drive away and we visited them twice in 2 days, as well as the provincial park at the lake. We had the opportunity to look at some of the other suites while they were empty between guests, and every one of them was lovely. I would stay in any one of them. Chris, his wife, and staff are so friendly and helpful and check in was super easy. We travel often for work and pleasure, and the Cloudside Hotel felt so cozy, my only regret was not staying for longer. Thanks Chris, we will be back!

There is nothing that I didnt like.

Wonderful location, beautiful view from the room. We stayed in the Tamarack two bedroom apartment and had plenty of space for all five of us (two adults, three kids). I loved that the kitchen had staples like oil, salt and pepper, coffee, tea, and creamer. The owner met us on our way in and made sure we had everything we needed and made great recommendations for both food and a few short hikes in the area. The hotel is within walking distance of pretty much anything you would need in Nelson but it is also quiet and a block or two off the main street.

The beds were a little hard and uncomfortable. The pillows were a little flat for my preference.

Perfect location to walk to restaurants in town. Charming old building tastefully furnished. Comfortable bed. Nice little sitting room included with Sycamore room. Friendly staff.

I would have liked a fold out luggage stand. Asked for one but there were none available. Brighter reading lights beside bed would have been nice. Folks interested in booking should be aware that there are multiple stairs required to access the first floor rooms of the house, no matter which entrance you use. That is a reality not a criticism. Nelson is built on the side of a mountain and is filled with stairs!

We loved it. Our first room was quite tight but we were able to move to another with more space and light. It was very comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful. The location was excellent. We walked around the downtown and didn’t need our car.

The only thing that could have made it better was some sort of breakfast offering. We tried to get milk and cereal so we could enjoy a slow morning in, but there was no place to pick that up nearby the night before. No elaborate sit down breakfast needed. Maybe muffins delivered to the door or something.

The room was amazing, definitly stay in the Sycamore room if you can! Super clean and beautilful lighting! The bed was absolutly amazing and comfy!! The bathroom was large and had its own AC. I would stay here again and would defintinly recomend to anyone staying in Nelson!

The room it self was on a slant, you dont notice it right off the bat but once you get out of the bed or walk a little quicker you for sure start to notice it.... Its not a big problem but something that should be warned when checking in for tranparancy

Roomy rooms, excellent location near all the main shops and restaurant, nice view on the mountains, great beds. Loved the place and will return. Delicious breakfast place (OSO) just around the corner.

A large cell phone antenna not to far from the place, but it's the problem for all downtown area.

We were treated to a warm welcome at The Cloudside with lots of ideas and suggestions about things to do. Room was beautifully decorated with sumptuous bed, comfortable sitting area and large well equipped bathroom. Great location in Nelson with shops, bars and restaurants within easy walking distance. We loved our stay at The Cloudside.

Loved the attention to detail. The staff were extremely friendly. The location is perfect! The place was clean, and well thought out. Loved the free coffee in the morning!

Our bed wasn’t the most comfortable, but decent enough. Not the hotels fault, but we didn’t realize how small the “Fir” room was, and if booking again, we would pick a different room. Hard to get settled with two people in this smaller room. The window also was frosted, so we had no views. These are very small dislikes though.

Love the building....love the rooms and the front and back decks. I also like that they have shed for our bikes. It makes me really feel like I am in a town with character as this property has so much character. Nelson is a cool town and it is my Home town. I am glad these owners have kept it vintage but updated all at once. I will probably always stay here and I always suggest it to anyone going to the wonderful town of Nelson. :)

Not sure there is anything I don't like. They have really thought of every thing.

Location is perfect if you want to be downtown. It is an old building, so kind of funky and different. Welcoming owner and very helpful. Spotlessly clean They provided fans and ac units. Very thoughtful. Outdoor deck was fabulous.

We were in the top floor suite with two sleeping areas and one bathroom. The sink in the bathroom is so small…🤷‍♂️. Seems like it could be better but I don’t know…. Not keen on very small fridge.
