Easy access from Hwy 3, the courtyard and pool and the availability for snacks and coffee before heading out.

I was not impressed by the way the hotel automatically charges my credit card without informing me ahead of time that this would be done. I know it is just a “hold”, but I saw no mention of it prior to booking or when I arrived. This could prove to be very embarrassing if I didn’t have the available funds or I needed those funds for a purchase after the hotel stay. It often takes a few days for a hold to come off. Knowing ahead of time would allow me to ensure there were sufficient funds, use a different card or choose to stay elsewhere.

We did not make it for the breakfast so I can't comment on that. Location was good. There was a small fridge, hair dryer, and toiletries, in case you didn't bring any. I liked the fact that there was a tub and not just a shower. My daughter liked that there was a TV. We both liked the fact that there was a pool and hot tub but we arrived late and didn't get a chance to enjoy them. There was parking in the back which made it very convenient to access our room.

The breakfast cost extra (they include it at some hotels). The walls are pretty thin because we could hear voices from other hotel rooms and/or in the hallway early in the morning, which woke me up.

Staff in the evening untrained the fact booking.com did not complete transaction prior to our stay. So was at front desk registering 8 people for over an hour especially since the rooms were booked back in jan 2024. When booking any hotel, you should be notified in advance, by hotel management if there are major renovations happening at that property, during your stay! When I check-in, I was told my "usual" room on the 3rd floor was "not available", due to the external windows being replaced. Thus, I feel I was "inconvenienced" by having to accept a room on their 2nd floor (i.e. and having to listen to "overnight" traffic noise from a nearby highway).

Aside from the great location, the fridge and microwave in rooms and a 24h self-serve laundry were important amenities. The pool and hot tub were open but the restaurant was closed. The pool is in a sort of covered courtyard with rooms with sliding glass doors opening on it. I stayed in an outside room and a as glad of the direct sunlight. It was nice to know that this Sandman location has unionized staff who work under a collective agreement negotiated between their union and Sandman's Management. They might cost just a little bit more it their quality of service and friendliness were excellent.

The key cards didn't work well, sometimes even when freshly coded. Front desk had a trainee (with a trainee name tag) on duty when I checked in and for the subsequent three nights who had a bit of difficulty... No major issues, and all inquiries received due consideration from staff my

The bed was super comfy after a long day of driving. The front clerk was super friendly and helpful. Facilities were clean, and the room was huge

The only thing is that the continental breakfast should have a protein being served, but thank you for offering one!

It was conveniently located with a couple restaurants and a liquor store nearby. It was definitely an older modeled hotel and a little bit dark. Did look like they were doing some sort of renovations but worked good for a quick night. Stopover.

I liked the fact that they have a pool

That our room didn't have a table to eat on and that half the time my key cards didn't work now idk if that was me or the cards

Great hotel for quick stopover on our way back to Vancouver. The family suite has x3 double beds and plenty of room for luggage.

Bit noisy from road and train noise.

Customer service clerk was amazing . She was working under very stressful conditions with many people trying to book in for the night after unexpected highway closure . She remained polite , welcoming and professional.She did an exceptional job at dealing with some very disgruntled traveller's.
