When you rock up to the Flying Steam Shovel building you double check that you have the right booking but the inside is EPIC. We stayed in a lovely spacious double room with bathroom; they provide shampoo, body wash and conditioner alongside a fridge and coffee machine. We also got food at the restaurant downstairs which was incredible. Really great quality and quantity and super friendly service. The rooms aren’t serviced every day but the day we arrived they were super clean and in great condition. The instructions were clear although it took us a little while to work out the key pad situation; you have to press the Yale button at the top first. The location is brilliant with the centre of town a two minute walk away and there is AC in the room to cool off in summer.

The room was beautiful and cozy and had all of the amenities we needed for our stay. It has the feel of a modern lodge and was very quiet, though located above a bustling restaurant. I wished I could have stayed longer. The locally roasted Seven Summits coffee was exceptional, so we walked to the shop and bought a bag to take home. The location was also convenient, just uphill from the main street in downtown Rossland. We enjoyed dinner at the restaurant downstairs and breakfast at a local cafe.

The room was freezing cold when we arrived. It warmed up relatively quickly, but it would be nice to have it heated at least to a moderate temperature in advance of check-in time.

Tastefully appointed rooms, clean and in perfect condition, good size, great location in town and at the end of town that’s closest to skiing. Easy 7 minute drive to the mountain. No noise from the lively bar/restaurant below. Fully automated check-in/check-out. Free parking right outside.

No ski room/storage, no elevator but only one flight of stairs

The renovated rooms are very well thought out and comfortable. Chic yet still remaining humble. Room 6 was designed in such a way that the bathroom placed in the middle of the room served as a divider between the 2 double beds providing privacy if wanted and at best separation from a noisy (snorer) partner.

The air conditioner unit in room 6 although works well during the heat wave, requires a little tlc. It sounds like an uninsulated dishwasher from the 70’s.

Loved the apartment style room. Free parking very close and convenient. Close proximity to ski slope. Lovely town. Great restaurant in the hotel.

No breakfast was offered. Although on the booking.com website it states there is a free continental breakfast. We were kept awake 2 out of 3 nights due to late night revellers shouting both outside and inside the hotel. The first night the noise was coming from the hotel and went on til around 3.30am. The second night, the noise was on the street and woke us around 2am.

We really like the location and the restaurant/pub below. We were there on a Sunday, so there was no live music. I’m not sure how well it would have worked for us if there was live music….

There was no interaction with any staff other than through text. It felt more like a AirBnB than a motel, but that wouldn’t keep me from coming back. One complaint was the AC was very noisy, like it needed a repair - it rattled a lot

Comfortable and clean. Lots of towels! Not noisy at all,considering it is above the pub. And the convenience of the pub was fantastic. Food and drink was delicious as well as convenient.

Getting the door code to get into the room was problematic. But the staff in the pub below helped us out and were very nice about it. We were well taken care of.

Great location, easy to find, lots of parking and loverly pub under it.

There is no one to ask any questions which fortunately we didn’t have any. The bar staff down stairs no nothing about the hotel above.

Spacious modern apartment directly above the best pub + restaurant in town. Don't miss the Scotch Eggs. Plus read the story of the Flying Steamshovel and walk around the quaint town.

It was very modern and comfortable

There were no screens on the windows in the bedroom area. Additionally, the walk up the hill from downtown to the hotel was brutal. Something you only do once in 36 degree heat!
