The entire service team was genuinely interested in us and providing the best experience at the hotel. The concierge went so far as to call local pub to see if we could watch one of our sports teams. The property was beautiful to walk around including the architecture and the beautiful landscapes. The air conditioner unit was very quiet. The beds and pillows were soft.
The three chairs in the room were a little big for us. Possibly providing more than one throw pillow as back support for each chair would have been nice. We could have probably asked for them, but did not think about it.

I stayed 5 days at the Fairmont Empress and was deeply impressed. The hotel itself is stunning, with a timeless elegance, and its location in the heart of Victoria is unbeatable. But what truly set this experience apart was the exceptional kindness and support of the Gold Concierge Team and the Lounge staff. They went above and beyond to help me navigate a difficult medical situation with compassion and care. Their warmth and attentiveness brought comfort during a challenging time, and I’ll always be grateful for that. Thank you for making my stay not just beautiful, but truly meaningful.

Staff are well-trained, customer-friendly, and very helpful. Room was comfortable, with excellent air conditioninng and is well-equipped for most needs. location is perfect for a "walking stay" with many local visitor sites such as the legislature, museums, galleries and restaurants nearby so accessing the car is unnecessary.
The shower/bath bottom was very slippery and needs a non-slip finish for added safety; even a rubber bathmat would suffice. The TV channel selection was very poor and even BC's own Knowledge Nework was missing. The restaurant is configured so that the line-up at the arrivals desk is in a busy corridor which means that those in line waiting for attention from the receptionist are in danger of being mowed down by streams of pedestrians trying to hurry along on their way. While being very secure, the underground parking is rather inaccessible for elderfolk with mobility challenges. Perhaps a "golfcart arrangement" could be made available at the main reception area to ferry elderfolk and their luggage to and from their cars.

We were just overwhelmed with the level of service and care at The Empress. We upgraded to Gold Level and that was a great choice. The free breakfast buffet was outstanding. And free snacks and drinks all day in the Gold Lounge. Our rooms were huge. The bed was one of the most comfortable I have ever had in a hotel. The staff bent over backwards to make our stay great. We did do High Tea and that was super good and fun. Location was great. We took Uber everywhere and we did the Hop On and Off Bus Tour of Victoria which is highly recommended. 5 Star Plus!!

From the moment we walked in we realized this was a pretty special place. The doorman greeted us and took care of our bags and guided us where to check in. We went to the 1st floor check in and met Michael who checked us in. Our room wasn't ready yet , but was assured we would get a text notifying us. When we came back we were greeted by a young lady who's name alludes me. She gave us a mini tour of all the amenities the gold status awarded us. She was very thorough and kind. All in all we had an amazing three days at the Fairmont Empress. One more thing to take notice of was the shorter gentleman at the entrance, the doorman guided us to our destination everyday..he was so helpful.
I have to say that there was one thing I didn't like.

The bed was very comfortable. The shower had great pressure. Staff was friendly, professional, and helpful, especially the concierge. The gardens were exquisite. It's easy to get around to all the sights. An all-day bus pass was great.
Maybe not advertise the room as a view room. There wasn't a view. The bar snacks were soggy wet. We asked for another bowl, and the snacks were also soggy. Consider ensuring the bowls are dry before putting snacks in them.

Ours was the Royal Suite, so everything was beyond expectation. The location and the view is the best feature.
The lobby areas are very small with inadequate seating arrangements. The carpets throughout the property hallways and common areas appear soiled. The breakfast in the Fairmont Gold Lounge was lacking in certain aspects (no made to order omelettes), very limited variety of pastries, no prepared cereals such as muesli, no cakes, etc. when compared with comparable properties.

The beds were like clouds, perfect and the location 👌 perfectly situated in the center of Harbor with ocean view ample restaurants, and the historic beauty of this hotel is second to none. I love everything Royal family so don't miss this if you love them and there history 💗 ❤️ 5 star all the way. Oh the spa is amazing as well and the gardens will blow your mind.
The only thing the coffee believe it or not was nespresso and not a traditional Canadian or English coffee 🤔 yes that was a big disappointment . We had to leave the room every morning in search of a deip coffee thank goodness Starbucks was right on the corner. But everyone I talked to felt the same so heads up Fairmont Empress your guess don't like the room coffee.

This is a great historic hotel with modern amenities and top service. Rooms are comfortable, with good bedding and amenities in the bathroom. It’s an impressive hotel with so much history and true to its heritage without compromising comfort and service. Location is unbeatable and all the restaurants and bars are so convenient for people wanting to stay within the property. The best part is that is dog friendly and they really cater to that, if a hotel is not dig friendly I won’t stay there, so we appreciate this so much and would come back just for this fact. Great experience overall

We splurged for the gold floor and it was worth every penny. To start, every staff member in the hotel, not just on the gold floor, was friendly and welcoming. The gold floor lounge had the best view of any restaurant in town, you could sit inside or outside and gaze at the ships and float planes coming in and out of in the sinner Harbour. The breakfast in the lounge every morning had a nice range of options for all different types of diets. The evening canapés were substantial enough to be a light dinner or just appetizers. Finally the room was amazing. We had a corner room and could see the Inner Harbor and the garden and Capitol. The sheets were soft, the bed comfy, and the shower was large and with great water pressure. I’ve stayed at the Empress about 5 times before, not usually on the gold floor. Every visit just makes me want to plan another trip there.
I hated to leave.
